amazed me is how things can be said by African Americans or, in the case of Rev. Wright's church, in churches with a congregation of African Americans and it isn't racist. However, as you tell me to put myself in a minority role.....that is assuming I'm white which you obviously do assume....why not take what these people have said or the things written in their churches and change everything. Instead of having Rev. Wright's church putting on their church homepage about being all about the black community, etc.....change that all to white and look at it from a minority perspective. If a predominantly white church put on their homepage that same stuff Rev. Wright's church did but only for the white community, it would be labeled as the KKK. If that were the case....it would totally be considered racist. So why isn't it racist when an African American says it? Most definitely if a Caucasian said anything remotely close to that.....the race card would be thrown up in the air and that person's professional and/or political career would be over.
