but that doesn't mean that we should throw in the towel. True equal rights, whether world wide or just nationally, is not something that comes overnight. It may never be perfect. However, to deny others these equal rights simply because of people being afraid or just unwilling to change is unfair and unjust, just like it is unjust to deny people these rights just because others would abuse them.
