cut taxes for the ultra-rich and spend the entire nation into eternal debt by borrowing money from other nations to fund wars that only create profit for corporate campaign donors, and dole out taxpayer money to yet more corporations that have mismanaged themselves into oblivion so their higher-ups can continue the lifestyles they have become accustomed to while unemployment rises to figures not seen in decades?
At least the tax and spend Democrats realize that the money has to come from somewhere, hence the tax portion of their moniker. That is better than the spend and spend policy of the Bush administration, who will all be dead while our grandchildren will be paying for their fiscal irresponsibility.
I don't agree with every facet of the Obama stimulus plan, but I do agree with getting people back to work and with repairing our long-neglected infrastructure. As far as the $500 payouts, at least those in the most need will immediately put it right back into the economy, whether they spend it wisely or not.
