To me, trying to remake this country in Obama's own image is quite evil enough. Not 'wasting' this financial crisis, but using it to further a liberal political agenda we've been refusing for decades is pretty evil, in my book, intentional evil and arrogance. In just 60 days Obama has outspent years of Bush, not to protect us from a physical threat but to try to cushion us from consequences of many of those same liberal policies (the Fannie/Freddie mortgage mess, for instance, begun during Clinton.) I did not agree with Bush's support of any bailouts, and I sure don't support the amount of social engineering that has been loaded into this 'stimulus package.'
Going on Leno, yukking it up, acting the fool and talking about bowling and basketball was just about the most unpresidential moment in history. Quite deliberately unpresidential, unlike the careless protocol goofs which have been just ineptly unpresidential.
