Who in the world would want to give birth to a child a child conceived during rape?????..nm
Again:L How many children do you have?
Thank you so much for your viewpoint . . .
You are right, we are not the greatest country in the world anymore. Greed and selfishness have taken over this country, and it's starting to take its toll. That's why we have one of the worst education systems in the world -- our kids are being taught it's better to have things than to be a good person. I love Canada, have traveled there many, many times, and love the people. I have thought for a long time about moving there -- that might become a reality if we yet again put greedy, hate-mongering fools in the White House!
Another viewpoint
There is no god and that is why he was chosen.
The people chose - not some god.
This viewpoint
Shows how delusional some can be. Pompous to presume that because some "pray" and he was picked that God chose him. While otherws who prayed got a different outcome. If there is a God, there is good and evil. One does not know if Obama was chosen by good or evil. Evil things happen all the time, so to say that because you prayed and he was chosen that God chose him. Men chose who won - not God. Men voted and put money in his campaign - not God. There are evil men and there are good men. Now the questions is and we will be finding out soon - did the men who chose Obama to be president - are they good or evil.
A different viewpoint from me
I've come to realize during this election there is a battle going on. Many people like to speak their minds, while others are more reluctant to do so for persecution of our feelings.
I spoke with my dad tonight and he put a lot in perspective for me. Dad’s always have a way of doing that (at least my dad does). He told me tonight that things in life happen for a reason. Sometimes we may not always see that reason until it has come to pass. He said the ideas that you may have could possibly be wrong. He said you may be right, but always leave the option open that you could be wrong.
He told me that there is nothing I can do personally to change the minds of others, so to save some “frazzled nerves”, just read and listen but keep your opinions to yourself, and don’t look on the bad side when the guy has not even been sworn into office. He said if there are articles of interest you want to share that is one thing, but just keep your feelings to yourself. He said just read, watch, and listen, and in time we will see whether we have elected a good man and I hope for the countries sake he is a good man.
He told me things are going to happen for a reason and you just have to learn to adapt otherwise you will just be in turmoil for things you cannot control. Nobody knows what the future will bring. So on those words of my dad I truly do hope President elect Obama becomes one of the greatest Presidents in history.
So you can't translate this either? All you have to offer is
Please elaborate.
interesting viewpoint
I heard a person say that if the constiutents of the republicans are rich, it is in their best interest to keep them rich; therefore, if the constituents of the democrats are the poor, is it not in their best interest to keep them poor?
Not saying that I necessarily agree, just thought it was interesting.
Can I offer you some Kool-Aid?
x
Because there's more than one church, one viewpoint?
Until we all think and behave exactly like them, some Christians won't feel they got their way?
Than offer something constructive...
instead of whining about what you don't like. That's all we hear is whining and complaining without any solutions or suggestion that you feel would be a better way to go. Not only that, are you privy to the same information that President and Obama and his cabinet are privy to? Are you qualified to pass judgment on anything that he does when you don't have all the facts? Would you like some cheese with your whine?
Exactly - just as your viewpoint is being forced
It works both ways, ya know.
If the information she has to offer upsets you this much...
....perhaps you should debate with the folks on the conservative board who will agree with you and pat you on the back. Perhaps your anger with gt is not about her, but about you (to paraphrase the mental health folks).
So much for tolerance of an opposing viewpoint....
talk the talk, don't walk the walk. Don't understand it, never will. Not trying to educate anyone; however, I am learning a good deal about liberals...and the differences among them. Very interesting indeed.
Have a good day....ignore away. :)
Yes...this would be the liberal viewpoint of the entire...sm
Gov. Palin interview. Not surprising.
Charlie Gibson did perform his role for the left well, didn't he? Entrapment journalism at its best.
Another viewpoint - to be fair and truthful
Seeing as your link is to a radical left-wing blog, wanted to state the fact is that 68% of veterans have voted for McCain and 23% have voted for Obama (so I guess your article is getting just the viewpoint of those 23% or less).
To be balanced (and fair)here is a website that gives the other side.
http://vets4mccain.com/
May I be the first to offer resounding bipartisan
x
Every time we offer a suggestion
we get laughed at and told we are asking for handouts.
I still believe that the best way to revive the banks is to go through the homeowners. Isn't bailing out and giving money to the big buisnesses still essentially trickle down economics? It's going to take too long for this stimulus to reach the average citizen. By then too many people will be without a job/home/food, etc.
another viewpoint - link inside
Seeing as truthout.org is very liberal of course they will get the worst of the worst to render their viewpoint. If you go to a more conservative site you will get a different feel of how the soldiers really feel. My best friends husband and son are both over there and they say the military are still proud to serve and encourage all of us to support them and find the good in what they are doing. I found this article from a woman soldier who was in Afghanistan and lost both her legs. She states in the article...
"My whole heart was into what I was doing. I love my people. I love my unit. I just love my job, and I'd go back and do it in a heartbeat."
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=15038708
So you have nothing to offer when it comes to defending Bennett's statements...sm
as you posted earlier that they were taken out of context. When asked to enlighten us on the context, you instead want to take Zauber to task. I know why, because there is no defense for these statements and a sound minded person wouldn't even try. Even the dupes on capitol hill are criticizing the statements.
I agree...and to bring a Christian viewpoint
..the Bible does state there is a time for peace and a time for war.
Shouldn't that be "another" Christian viewpoint?
nm
Yeah, I'll BET you "work with" them. You offer
away from any others that might be out there. I've seen your kind practicing what amounts to terrorism in front of our local Planned Parenthood clinic.
Based on all the propaganda you've been spewing the last week or so, I don't believe one word of what you just wrote about 'helping' women.
You so-called 'pro-life' enthusiasts are just a buncha self-righteous, old-world, Bible-belt hags, nothing more.
What facts did you just offer to encourage me to vote your way? nm
x
But they didn't offer racism and bigotry....
__
by the way, backwards typist - I like hearing your viewpoint -
I am not bashing anybody - I respond sometimes to comments with my own opinions, but I respect that you have the right to yours also.
I never call anyone a liar on this board - but if I see something I think is incorrect, I will try to correct the information if I can...
Also, I agree with the issues needing to be discussed and not bashing - for example, I asked who would vote for SP in 2012 and it turned into "she's better than him" or "he did this" below. I truly wanted to know who would vote for her in the primaries.
But, I don't think it is just the dems tearing down the pubs - I am standing on the fence (neutral to party sides) and I see it going both ways...
In a prior post I made the following offer:
.....no amount of money would induce me to volunteer to be tortured (you know, beaten cut, burned - severe pain or harm). But cut me a check (certified only, please) with a number followed by a whole lot of zeros and I would be waterboarded (strictly in the interest of science). Our special forces are trained to withstand this and other 'harsh' interrigation techniques...... It's scary and unpleasant but way different from having your fingernails pulled out or a field generator and alligator clips used.
I had in mind more like $500,000, but yeah, for enough money I would certainly consider that an offer I couldn't refuse.
dr's urge america to accept cuba's offer
Doctors Urge US To Accept Cuba's Offer Of 1586 Disaster-Trained Doctors
By Ken Thomas Associated Press Writer 9-8-5
ATLANTA (PRNewswire) -- A prominent U.S. medical group voiced deep concern over delays in health care and epidemic prevention reaching Katrina victims, and urged U.S. authorities to accept Cuba's offer of 1586 disaster-trained physicians to prevent a second wave of sickness and death. Latest reports indicate the U.S. State Department is backing away from the offer, implying they are not needed. Up to this point, there been a clear need for more medical help for Katrina victims, said Peter Bourne, MD, Chairman of MEDICC and former special adviser on health in the Carter White House and former Assistant Secretary General at the United Nations. The Cuban physicians are accustomed to working in difficult third-world conditions without the resources and supplies most of us are accustomed to. Since they are just an hour away, it is a shame that they have not been allowed to join our committed medical corps already. He is joined by other physicians, medical educators, international health experts and a former U.S. surgeon general associated with MEDICC, Medical Education Cooperation with Cuba. From 1998 through 2004, MEDICC has provided medical electives in Cuba for nearly 1000 students and faculty from 118 U.S. medical, public health and nursing schools. Cuba has been recognized by the UN, Oxfam and other international organizations as a leader in disaster response, expertise that could be saving lives now, said Doctor William Keck, former long-time director of the Akron, Ohio Department of Public Health. A 2004 Oxfam Report, Weathering the Storm: Lessons in Risk Reduction from Cuba, states that there are real lessons to be learned from Cuba on how to safeguard lives during extreme natural disasters, including getting medical attention to vulnerable populations. The report can be found at http://www.oxfamamerica.org/cuba. On Tuesday, August 30, Cuba first offered U.S. authorities hurricane relief in the form of 1100 disaster-trained bilingual physicians, each equipped with 52-pound pound backpacks of medical supplies, including rehydration therapy, insulin, anti-hypertensives, and medications for systemic and topical infections. On Saturday, September 3, Cuba increased the offer to 1586 doctors, ready for immediate deployment and prepared to stay as long as necessary to help wherever needed. A Cuban spokesperson said that as of today there has been no official response from the U.S. government. Cuban disaster relief experience spans 45 years, mainly in hurricanes faced by the Caribbean island and in coping with disasters confronted by other developing countries. Another nearly 25,000 Cuban health professionals provide longer-term health care services in 68 countries, under government-to-government agreements. Cuba trains 10,500 medical students from 27 countries at its Latin American Medical School -- 65 of them from poor and minority communities in the USA. (See The New England Journal of Medicine, 2004; 351:2680-82.) What an irony that the first U.S. MD to graduate from the school this August is a young African American from New Orleans, said Diane Appelbaum, RN, NP, MS. He just passed the U.S. medical boards and is eager to fulfill the commitment he made in exchange for his free education from Cuba to serve the very poverty-stricken areas now devastated. For additional first-hand reports and interviews from Cuba, please see MEDICC's on-line journal, MEDICC Review at http://www.medicc.org, Archives, Vol VI, No. 3, 2004 Disaster Management in Cuba: Reducing the Risk. MEDICC (Medical Education Cooperation with Cuba) is a non-profit organization based in Atlanta. MEDICC is committed to maintaining institutional and educational links between the U.S. and Cuban medical communities. MEDICC publishes the English-language journal MEDICC Review, reporting on Cuba's medical and public health programs, available at http://www.medicc.org.
Aw, the voice of wisdom.

Sage wisdom
I personally like dandelion greens, wild onions, polk sallat and lots of other wild greens, nuts, berries, pawpaws, wild grapes, wild mushrooms, etc. etc. We'll be fine for awhile.
If you're a "bible kook" count me right there with you. If one needs any more proof, just read the book. Written 2000 years ago, if it isn't true, how could it so accurately predict exactly what is happening? Like the time will come when a person will work all day long just for food for a single day. I don't see that being very far in the future. IMHO wise people are turning to the Bible for instructions. THAT is the only hope we really have.
Please enlighten me with your wisdom.
How do you handle this then? Terrorists who want us dead and will do anything to accomplish that. How do you deal with them? What is the source? Do we all convert to their religion? What? I'm curious as to what your solution is for this mess.
I still would like to see Obama go after the CEOs of these big corporations and banks the pocketed loads of money and walked away from a failing business. Why aren't they being investigated and tried for what they have done? Instead of we going after the past administration even though dems knew what was going on.
As for your information about Mohammed giving info until the harsh interrogations.....there are two sides to this story and until everything is released and looked into, all you go by is what MSNBC says and the rest of us go by facts.
Nancy Pelosi and other dems were brief on these interrogations and they did NOTHING. The government has only allowed part of the information to be unclassified. There is still other information out there that they have not brought to light and seem to be not wanting to bring to light. Wonder why....hmmmm.
The reason behind terrorist attacks is because they are Muslim extremists who believe their religion has called them to rid the world of people who aren't Muslim. No tea and cookies and friendly talks is EVER going to change that.
Yes...please give him some wisdom!
I can't disagree on that one.
More wisdom in his right hand than the whole
.
You call that an excuse? There are plenty of churches that offer those things!! nm

So we offer substandard wages and attract more people to welfare???...sm
More of your tax dollars are being spent there than at McDonalds or whatever, if we do not get more people working, we also have LESS people paying into the tax system, both federal and state, which subsidises OTHER necessitites. And people complain about the immigrant workers taking jobs? Because of substandard wages and the increased benefit of being on Welfare, food stamps, subsidized housing, and Medicaide, it seems only immigrants WANT to do these insultingly low-paying jobs. I am talking about a wage where a family can be together, both parents are not working two jobs, and thus not taking care of the kids, another social problem, and employed taxpayers are also CONSUMERS who drive the economy, but if you are not making a living wage, you cannot participate in the economy. How is this wrong?
This pearl of wisdom is brought to you by
someone who proved herself ridiculous 500 posts ago....
experience versus wisdom
to change the downward course of the nation. Haven't you been listening?
Humor? Wisdom? To be called a
"babe," "skirt" is humorous? Wisdom???? Where is the so-called wisdom in that sexist remark? But of course Lush will get away with it.... he's too valuable to the pubnuts!! Disgraceful is what it is!!!!
Your disrespect for the wisdom of elders
Might try reading up on the brilliant genius that IS Lee Iacocca. Take a look at his photo...84 and looks 20 years younger. Sharp as a tack, as demonstrated by the level of expertise and thorough analysis expressed in the piece he wrote. The smartest thing he said, in essence, was "Dude, where's my country?"
In any cas, your petty, drive-by sound byte is a mere reflection of the same bankrupt leadership he decries, prime example being the tanking McSame.
BTW, here's a few other millionaires who endorse Obama, every single one of the former pubs:
1. Warren Buffet
2. Colon Powell
3. Susan Eisenhower
4. Julie Nixon Eisenhower
5. Senator Lincoln Chafe
6. Gov Linwood Holton (VA)
7. Mayor Richard Riordan (LA CA)
8. Bill Ruckelhaus
9. Douglas Kmiec
10. (Former) Mayor Ed Koch (NY)
11. Ken Adelman
12. General Tony McPeak
13. Donald Capoccia
14. Jackson M. Andrews
15. Richard J. Schwartz
16. Todd Garrett,
17. Michael Smercornish
18. Richard B. Stewart
19. Jim Whitaker
20. Ambassador Thomas Graham Jr
Gourdpainter, I really respect your wisdom. s/m
And I, too, have been having trouble sleeping because of this election as well. I think they call it election burnout. I guess the whole Rev. Wright thing is somewhat concerning, but I find that the positive things about Barack Obama far outweigh that one thing. I watched a brilliant interview with him last night by Rachel Maddow on MSNBC. He addressed so many things: Foreign policy, Afghanistan, that fact that we desperately need to update our infrastructure in this country, roads, bridges, and especially the power grid, as it is one of our major weaknesses for terrorist attack. He has a very definite plan for all of these things that I have never heard anyone else address, and I was very impressed. He made a statement about how the trillion dollar deficit that Bush ran up would not have been so bad had there been something to show for it, if that money had been spent on building up our infrastructure and how China is so far ahead of us on that issue. That interview was definiately the best one I have seen, and it really gave an excellent glimpse into this man and what he hopes to achieve, and just confirmed for me how right he is for this country.
I am putting this election into God's hands. What is meant to be will be. But I am very concerned about the whole election process. There have already been instances of problems with the machines. In West Virginia, the machines were flipping votes from Obama to McCain, and I do anticipate lots more problems like that. It's going to be close either way.
Hang in there, gourdpainter. Hopefully, we'll both be able to get some sleep when this is all over.
No dear, that would be words of wisdom!!
xx
"The wisdom of the Clinton Presidency..."
ohhhhh to quote reville guffaw guffaw GUFFAW guffaw lol
Wisdom and humor too. A winning combination.
nm
"There you go." A Reagan-esque pearl of wisdom.
And George showed SO MUCH experience and wisdom when he first took office, right?????....sm
He got in on Daddy's coat tails and by and large had Daddy's former administration aides and cabinet members calling the shots and try to cover his idiocy. When is everyone coming out of denial about this past administration?
Good thing we have PSYCHIC wisdom on the board
:-(
...even 'more' wisdom to outsmart you envious pubs...nm
nm
You should explain your wisdom to Harold Ford and John Tanner.
These lawmakers obviously have no idea what it truly means.
The way I read it is as nothing more than a badly worded symbolic gesture of no real significance other than to *express the sense of Congress.*
You're entitled to agree with the lone 19 Republicans regarding our troops.
I choose to agree with the vast majority who are *expressing* that they support our troops, particularly Ford and Tanner, whose comments are below.
Ford and Tanner said they strongly support the troops. But they noted that current Iraqi government leaders reportedly are considering granting amnesty to Iraqis who killed U.S. troops as acts of resistance and defense of their homeland. They cannot support a government that would grant such amnesty, Ford and Tanner said in written statements.
Ford, a U.S. Senate candidate, called the Republican resolution a gimmick that fails to recognize that 'stay the course' is not working and that amnesty for terrorists is unforgivable.
Don't agree. We trust God for Wisdom, Strength, and health in our govenment.....sm
BUT that does not mean that there should not be a separation in church/state. We can trust in the Lord and pray for our nation, but is is up to us, as keepers of this nation, to work hard, to strive to appoint the right people, to try to defend the constitution, not just in war, but in peace. By becoming a UNITED nation once again, because we are being destroyed more quickly from within....the terrorist are loving it and will not have to do much to make this nation fall, if we do not use wisdom, discernment, and love, once the whole economy has collapsed and there is more and more crime, chaos, despair, etc., there won't be much the terrorists will have to do for our downfall...and there won't be much to gain from this country, either, if it sinks that low, IMHO
oh yea... not a child...
even though before most know they are pregnant the heart is already beating...
I haven't seen the video, I don't think I need to because I myself will never have an abortion, but just like any procedure I would have done I would think I would want to know what it involves so you maybe someone having it should watch it!
I bet your child gives you
great joy. I am happy that you found a career where you can be home with your child. The anti-choice people seem to think as long as every child is BORN things are okay. It is the caring for them after they are born that does not seem too important to them.
