Allow me to try to interpret your mental diarrhea.

ME: I'm working hard to get ahead in LIFE. To see to it that my children can get a top rate EDUCATION. That I can pay my bills and feed my family and still save for my retirement. I'm working to stay ahead of inflation, and cost of living increases and a global economy that demands 'cheap' before 'quality.' I working to make my own business successful, therby setting a good example for my children, and encourage my son AND my daughter to reach for their hearts' desires without prejudice such as that displayed by the original poster. Maybe she would prefer her daughters to think a good woman is barefoot and pregnant, but I don't.
YOU: "there's nothing there but shame and disgust."
ME: I have a wonderful life, a wonderful family, a wonderful home, a wonderful job and a wonderful country. My parents came from a country where 4 out of 5 of those things were denied to 99% of the citizenry. If you see nothing but shame and disgust, perhaps you should raise your head once in awhile and take a look around, and question why it is you choose to remain in those conditions.

ME: I question why you bring this into the argument when it has nothing to do with my post. Perhaps you are jaded due to personal experience. Don't blame that on McCain, who cited his greatest failure in life as, "The failure of my first marriage." "The sinner with remorse is wiser than the fool who thinks he is without sin."

ME: Then I suggest you choose your associations with a little more care. I know scores and scores of men who love their wives, who are honest, decent and faithful. The fact that you do not speaks more to your own inability to judge character than to a man's imagined inability to be monogamous.

I would expect that comment from someone who either has their head in the sand or maybe it's just totally over your head by the very intelligence of it. I guess the fact that you don't understand intelligent "rambling", as you call it, pretty much says it all. Maybe JTBB should draw stick people to illustrate!

Where on earth do you get the notion that he wants religion crammed down our throats? All I hear from him is respect and tolerance for people's religious differences, even if that includes not religion. You are just blinded by a dislike for a man you do not even know. I'm in my sixth decade, have been around the block a few times, lived through pub and dem administrations, gone to college and taken advanced hours in eonomics, prepare tax returns for extra income and know exactly where I am coming from and where I want to be g"O"ing. You couldn't pay me a million bucks to entertain the kind of juvenile, anachronistic and useless vitriole you are spewing, much less answer it. You need a time out or better still, an early nap.

There have to be at least 15 things going on in Washington and the world right now that might have merited an intelligent comment. But wait...what am I saying?

this woman speaks from the heart? Because she put in writing what a lot of Americans feel right now?
I, too, wrote an open letter to the Congress and Senate, emailed all that I could when this TARP, Stimulus, and the last legislation passed back then. You know what kind of answer I received? Nada. No comment. Nothing. That's how much our government cares for us anymore.
Wake up. A lot of items in that letter hold true for a lot of people. Take extra caffeine and read it. It might do you some good.

I've been at the computer all day. I think I'm working harder now than I did before I retired. Today I've been working on a website for our grist mill restoration project. I guess I'm a professional nonprofit fund raiser now. Maybe that statement fits on the politics board since there's a lot of politicking involved. LOL
