Regarding my use of the word "relieved," I'm NOT "relieved" yet. I will not be "relieved" until Obama has taken the oath of office and is sitting in the Oval Office and working.
If, by chance, Obama should be assassinated before, during or immediately after his oath of office, I can only imagine the angry public outcry because the will of the citizens of this country was once again circumvented, and THAT might be enough for Bush to declare martial law and promote himself from "The Decider" to "The Dictator."
This issue may be unchartered waters in the Constitution (considering the unprecedented powers Bush has given himself during his regime), and if Bush can put the finishing touch on his destruction of the USA, I believe he will. He already used socialism in handling the economic "crisis" with his purchase of banks, with almost a trillion dollars completely unaccounted for, etc.
Anything can happen under the Bush regime, and I will still be fearful until Obama has been sworn in and is, in fact, working in the Oval Office as the 44th President of the United States.
A man has recently threatened to kill Obama "for the country's own good." Sent shivers up my spine and unfortunately reminded me very much of some of the anti-Obama posts on this very board.
So, as each day passes, I feel a little more relieved, but anything can happen before then -- even something involving Israel and a new "crisis" that "only" Bush can handle -- ANYTHING can happen.
