MSNBC is deeply in Obama's pocket...
and please don't come back with Fox News is a conservative network. They allow and have contributors on both sides of the aisle and let them air their opinions. MSNBC doesn't allow anyone not for Obama to speak. Everyone should go to each candidate's web site and see how they stand on the issues.
Singing a different tune.
I almost died when I saw that the ACLU was preparing a lawsuit on behalf of (among others) Christopher Hitchens. This is the guy who went from left-leaning, writing for The Nation to so far right he is not recognizable. I rarely listen to him anymore because, like so many of the radical right, he is so abrasive I find him difficult to stomach. This is a guy who hates the ACLU until he needs it because the ACLU will defend the constitutional rights of anyone and everyone, not just the people, groups, corporations that some find acceptable. As American citizens we all have the right to due process and legal representation no matter how heinous the crimes we have committed. The right goes nuts when the ACLU defends those they disdain but interestingly, Hitchens and Rush both have turned to the ACLU for help when personally in need. Where are their right-wing lawyers?? Why do they need the ACLU to help them?? Why indeed.
Also, on another note, I am again disgusted that this administration who has not one person amongst them who has ever seen combat in any war/conflict is swiftboating AGAIN, this time John Murtha, a REPUBLICAN. First we had Max Cleland who was decried as unpatriotic. Then Al Gore's service did not count because he was only a journalist (journalists are in harm's way and he was serving in Viet Nam). Then there was John Kerry who actually fought, led and had medals to prove it ...what to do??? Why, question the authenticity of the medals of course. And now, John Murtha, a lifelong military guy, Republican, with medals galore and now his medals are being questioned. I don't know why the military people who frequent these boards are not outraged by this. I understand that the first 3 mentioned were Democrats but Murtha...you guys are okay with this??? You could fill a library with what this administration does not know about military strategies, plans, actual experience and yet they are so arrogant as to swiftboat one of their own who has been behind them 100% up to this point. This is beyond appalling.
You won't be singing that tune when
And you "a self-proclaimed" middle class become the poor. I think to you need to check yourself. You are totally against the poor, you're sick! You have no sympathy or empathy? Do you have a silver spoon on your mouth? I guess you've been brainwashed to believe that McCain at 70+ is really going to make a difference? The American dream - yeah right! The rich get richer while the poor get poorer! Are you actually an MT? Get real! If you believe everything the media says, you are a sad sort. Yes, this economy needs help and that doesn't mean more taxes on our healthcare. Are you awake?
Wow! Now I will have that tune in my head all day.
nm
You're changing your tune
You make comments you want to make with no regards to anyone feelings and you call it being funny but someone else makes a comment you don't like and you call it racist and start yelling for the moderator. Maybe they thought their comment was funny.
So, you don't care if we are in debt to the tune
of $9T over the next 10 years????? You really want your children, grandchildren and probably your great-grandchildren to pay for mistakes that did not have to take place in the first place?
You're not wasting tea, you're wasting the little tag on the tea bag. How hard is it to let the government know you are furious with their antics? I just don't agree it's a waste of time.
Some of us (not me yet) are in the less fortunate boat and not getting any help at all while those in power pocket our money. It's time to stop the nonsense and hold those accountable for their actions. It's time to let the government know we don't want to be told how to live anymore. Freedom is not free anymore. It costs a lot of money and our freedoms are slowly being whittled away one by one. I want to see my grandchildren enough those freedoms, not wind up being told how to live, what to eat, where and when to work, etc.
Whew! Sorry. Am venting. I'll get off my soapbox now.
Class envy at its best. Bet you would sing a different tune...
if you were one of those rich people. You do realize Obama is rich....right? Ten thousand dollars for kid's camp? 1.2 million house? Just so you know...he's one of those fine benevolent rich people. There are rich Democrats...lol.

Today's latest on Rove
WASHINGTON - The White House is suddenly facing damaging evidence that it misled the public by insisting for two years that presidential adviser Karl Rove wasn't involved in leaking the identity of a female CIA officer. President Bush, at an Oval Office photo opportunity Tuesday, was asked directly whether he would fire Rove -- in keeping with a pledge in June, 2004, to dismiss any leakers in the case. The president did not respond. For the second day, White House press secretary Scott McClellan refused to answer questions about Rove.
_______________
This article says that the White House may have misled the public. And, they apparently pledged to fire anyone who had leaked this information. This has become interesting, hope it doesn't fade right away from the public view.
latest propanganda debunker
Two videos surfaced showing P support for bridge to nowhere. Alaska did receive the money. She did not stop supporting bridge until Congress cancelled the allocation. Alaska KEPT the money. One project it paid for a road to the place where the bridge would have been.
Her chef she claimed to have fired was simply reassigned other duties and still kept cooking for the kids.
the joint editorial decrying the mismanagement of Fannie/Freddie and how they were going to go to Washing to fight influence of lobbyists? Rick Davis, McCain campaign advisor was a lobbyist for Fannie/Freddie.
McCain squad & cohorts in Alaska tried to have the democrat removed from the bipartisan group investigating troopergate but failed. They are still working to hid the truth up there.
Nat'l Guard leader in Alaska said that SP played no part in Nat'l Guard. He later came out and said P DID have experience in military command. Coincidentally, he was then promoted to a higher grade in the Nat'l Guard. Hmm . . . funny how that happens . . .
Put some lipstick on them facts, folks.
The latest one yesterday was from the chairman of...
the Democratic party of South Carolina. Hardly a "crazy."
That being said...it does happen on both sides. However, in being totally objective in looking at this board, the Democrats on this board are just as likely to attack the poster as they are to attack the candidate. That doesn't help. What happens on this board is exactly what happens in Washington and it just needs to stop. Congress and the administration need to drop the party line and do the people's business, not further their careers. It should be about SERVICE. Only one ticket is saying that. Only one ticket is eve interested in reaching across party lines and involving the other party and Independents in their cabinet. That is the ticket I am voting for...because until the party bickering first and country second ideology changes...we are doomed to loop the same old same old. It just needs to stop.
Latest Notable Quotables
Just one of the many places for good info. And to think, it's "okay" to not only imply but state that incest occurs in the Palin home? Seriously, when is enough enough? As a conservative, I skewer the turds in the bunch on a regular basis. Those RINOs don't work for me any more than the Barney Franks, Chris Dodds, etc. work for anyone else but themselves!

Can someone explain J McCain's latest commercial
Okay, I'm no obama fan but I find John McCain's latest commercial totally mind numbing. What historic day is he talking about? In his usual condescending tone he is saying congrats to Barack on his nomination on this historic day. DH and I can't figure out what historic day?
OK, so the latest message out of the McCain camp
We recognize it by its underlying agenda of twisting a child's story into an Obama smear.
Evidently you hadn't heard the latest.

Correction. Latest numbers show a 6.5 lead.
how many seats in Congress adn the Senate the democrats gained? The message seems pretty clera to me. How do you keep that hatred from eating you up from the inside out? Obama won because desptie GOP's best efforts, they trust their future more to him than McCain. No amount of negativity can change the feeling of uplift, hope, excitement and enthusiasm for our President-elect. I feel sorry for you that you seem so determined to keep yourself down in the mud pit. Election's over. Your party needs your attention. Your country needs your help. Go figure.

MSNBC
I see it very differently. Chris Mathews is a big ole softy who loves, loves, loves this country. Keith O has a twinkle in his eye and assumes the viewers are well informed. They both seem to love their jobs and relish discussing politics. They are my absolute favorites.
MSNBC
I really like their commentators. I do think they are pro Obama, but not rabidly so. Rachel has criticized the Obama campaign at times. Pat Buchanan certainly is not pro democrat. Joe Scar is not pro Obama. I get good information from the pro-O commentators and a balanced viewpoint from the Repub commentators. The commentators have been in politics for years, so they point out things I might not have thought about. I like Keith O's humor. When he presents information he gives sources and verification for it. When he is wrong, he corrects himself. While I was listening to John McC last night, my mind started to wander. I remembered then why I used to find politics so boring. Remember Dole? I think Obama brings energy to politics and makes it worth paying attention to.
I don't believe anything MSNBC says.

MSNBC is not as far as it gets because
they are still a part of the major outlet news conglomerates. You want real left reporting, check out Pacifica.
From what CNN and MSNBC
create enough jobs. Our kids and grandkids will be in debt and so much more negativity.
endless war - msnbc
Good article under world news MSNBC online site. Frightening. Michael Scheuer, ex CIA analyst states "rather than move forward towards solutions, the US took a big step backward by invading Iraq". He states the US has a willingful blindness to what needs to be done: Withdraw our troops from the Middle East, end unqualified support for Israel, sever close ties to Arab oil state tyrannies. Bruce Hoffman, veteran RAND Corp specialist fears an endless war and dismisses talk of Al Qaida's back having been broken by the capture of some leaders. He and a half dozen other terrorist experts say the worlds richer powers must address the underlying causes - lessen the appeal of radicalism by improving economies, political rights and education. Bush, et al, you have entered into a predicament that has no good outcome. If this isnt a reason to impeach him, I dont know what is. He ought to be tarred and feathered in town square.
I saw it on MSNBC this week.
I had seen this commercial before, I believe on the Daily Show (Colbert Report maybe?), and I thought it was one of their jokes. I was amazed to find out it's real!
MSNBC? Well, that explains it (nm)

msnbc topped Fox
in convention viewers. Fox's days are over. There will not be enough audience for them once Baracko takes over.
Wonder when JM or SP interviews on MSNBC
Won't hold my breath on that one. They'll be ll tied up with emergency response damage control and leadership image management.
Ron Allen (MSNBC)
short clip.
The media will try to downplay her accomplishments as when Ron Allen of MSNBC tried to get me to accept that she had too little experience. Watch it here.
I watched a little of MSNBC afterwards
and they were calling it a tie. I figured they would have just called it for Obama. I am a liberal-leaning moderate and do watch MSNBC so I am well aware of their bias, but I was refreshingly surprised to see them be fair on this one.
On another note, any other libs out there been watching the Rachel Maddow show on MSNBC? She is great, totally unabashedly liberal, but funny and not in-your-face confrontational. Really smart too, Stanford and a Rhodes Scholar. Yikes, I sound like a commercial!
Only MSNBC and FOX are one sided, not CNN or the others AT ALL
but fox is by far the worst... at least MSNBC doesn't LIE outright.
So right you are. O will only allow MSNBC to exist...
to ask those tough presidential questions like boxers or briefs and what talking points would you like us to use today sir?
I see the whiners at NBC and MSNBC
have banned her for life because they can't handle the truth about their slurp fest with Obama. She basically calls them out regarding their blatant love and adoration for the Chosen One.
What would we do without those people at MSNBC?
At least they have a sense of humor -- maybe Fixed News should take a lesson. They, too, are very funny -- they just don't mean to be!!
I found something about that on MSNBC also..sm

I don't watch Hannity....but as far as MSNBC...
have you watched Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann? Keith Olbermann is worse than Rush Limbaugh ever thought about being...and yes, I think Rush is condescending and I don't like the talking down on either side. It obscures any point that might be made. I can't watch Chris Matthews for more than 30 seconds and I have never made it past 1 word with Olbermann. And Chris Matthews is realllyyy bad about talking over his guests to make HIS point. So I guess every network has their Hannity/Matthews/Olbermann et al. But, some people like that condescending stuff and find things funny that I don't...but hey, it takes all kinds to make the world turn, I guess.
That's MSNBC's fault for staffing ...
a news event with commentators. Chris Matthews and Keith Olberman are not journalists. They are political commentators, and their opinions are what bring in the ratings on their programs.
But, generally speaking, journalism is just not what it used to be. Impartial reporting and confirmed information have been left at the wayside. These days it's all about getting out the big story fast, whether or not it's actually true.
Walter Cronkite would have choked himself on the air before ever starting a story with "Unconfirmed reports say . . . " How often do we hear that as the lead-in to a news story? Translation: "Rumor has it . . . "
So that's my rant for today. Matthews and Olberman shouldn't be reporting on anything.
