Or what if

Mother Theresa had been aborted? Or Abraham Lincoln? Or Thomas Jefferson?
My stance would still be no. There are other options.
I still say that if as a whole we would focus more on promoting abstinence and not having sex until you are mature enough to handle the consequences, not only would unwanted pregnancies go down, but so would STDs. Instead we live in a world of "do what you want, you won't have to deal with the consequences"
I bet cheating would go down too. How many cheaters have been found out because their girlfriend (or themselves) has become pregnant? How many more would be found out if just hopping in the car and going to the abortion clinic wasn't readily available?
Everything is just so convenient nowadays. Having trouble at home? Just go jump in bed with someone else. Little Suzie went out behind the bleachers with Johnny instead of going to class? Just have an abortion.
Don't think that the generation coming up doesn't see this. They see that no one has to live with consequences anymore, so why should they follow the rules?
It's not just abortion. Our whole country and way of life is going down the hole. If things like morals and family and unity were promoted more than sex, violence, and adultery, we wouldn't have to even debate these subjects. There would be no reason for 99% of abortions because we wouldn't have unwanted pregnancies!
We need to hurry up and get back to basics before it's to late. All these movies we see where the US is just desolate and blown up and gone, may not be to far off. Except it won't be zombies or aliens or whatever else, it will be our own doing.
