I was talking about Obama's
first two months in office. What a joke. If you haven't "learnt" by seeing what has been done in a short period of two months, you need to take your blinders off. I don't believe Bush was right in what he did, but I don't believe Obama is the answer to our problems now either. So I'm not the one drinking Kool-Aid because personally I think Bush sucked and I think Obama sucks. So what say you to that cuz I sure as heck ain't drinking the Kool-Aid from either party.

During the debate he stated the reason he did not vote for the bill presented in Illinois regarding babies that live through abortion is because there is a bill that already addresses this? Or did I miss something?

One was in Oregon and the latest one was in Kentucky, at UofK. And so the school is going to apologize to Obama, and they called in the FBI. So did anybody think to apologize to Sarah Palin and her family? or to McCain and his family? Why is it a hate crime of the effigy is black and not a hate crime because the other effigy was a white female? They passed it off as "freedom of speech." So wouldn't hanging a black person in effigy be an exercise in "freedom of speech?" One would think so, but then again, this is another example of people bending over backwards to kiss Obama's feet and the MSM thinks this is OK? Be scared, be very scared if Obama is elected.
I heard Obama talking
about that bill. I cannot remember what he said was on it that he did not like, but I remember he said that those babies are protected without it. That it is already a law that they have to get medical attention if they survived the abortion.
He knew that was the case when he voted, so that was not the issue, and it would not subject them to being left to die.

I read that Madeline Albright (of Clinton Administration fame) is one of his top security and foreign relations advisors. The same Madeline Albright who was instrumental in the sanctions against Iraq (yes, Clinton wanted to get rid of him too). I wondered where Obama was getting his idea about "sanctions" and an "international coalition" against Iran (after he had to back down on his 'I would talk to Ahmadinejad face to face with no rules' remark...loose quote). That is very unsettling to me. Most people have forgotten how many Iraqi civilians died as a result of those sanctions because any food going into the country Hussein kept for himself and his party...over a million people died, half of those children. That is 500,000 children. That is a death toll MUCH greater than the entire Iraq war has caused....so if you are a body counter, it would serve you well to remember that. And that same Madeline Albright, when asked if it was worth it, replied, basically, "We think the price is worth it." She later apologized for the remark; however, here she is again hawking sanctions and Obama is on the train. Sanctions don't work. Didn't work in Iraq, won't work in Iran. Much "food" for thought.

it was written by a black pastor and it is his opinion. He was not hired by nor affiliated with the McCain campaign. There are several black preachers who do not agree with black liberation theology. There was nothing in his post about hatred. He said homosexuality was a sin..it is. He didn't say he hated gays...just that the Bible says the ACT is a sin..and it is. Just like lying, adultery, murder, etc. It does have the distinction of being the one sin that God classified as an "abomination." All the preacher was pointing out was that when Obama said there was nothing specific in the Bible regarding homosexuality...he was wrong. Again...there is no hatred in that post. He just doesn't agree with Obama's philosophy. Where you get hate from that I don't know....did you even read the post?
And by the way....sniping and cattiness must be your strong suit? You seem to excel in that area. Can you just drop the cattiness and sniping (as you asked that I do) and go figure, as you told me to do? Thank you so very much.

I am talking about his followers. And yes, it is more like followers than supporters, and a great many of them, including on this board, turn into a snarling, snapping, pack attack on anyone who posts anything negative or unflattering about him. I cannot believe you can say that no one can make you hate. We all have the capacity within us to hate. But no one hates spontaneously and it most certainly can be taught. do you think Islamic terrorists were born hating? Of course not. But they are taught it, and they learn it. Just the way a lot of kids were taught racism. THey werren't born hating, it was taught to them until they thought that was the way it was supposed to be. They didn't even know it was hate. Louis Farrakhan preaches hate. The I disagree totally that hate comes from within and that no one can make you hate. Oh yes they can.
All that being said...I did not say that by design Obama makes his followers that way...I said I didn't know. But the fact remains, those are the traits they exhibit.

Iraq...constantly talking about Iraq and what was going on there and never having been there, though many other senators had. Anyone paying attention knows that. Obama's little trip to Germany was part and parcel of his "I am a citizen of the world" hoohah. Had nothing to do with what McCain said. And yes, he finally DID go to Iraq, and well he SHOULD. And he knows that the surge worked, but he would die before he admitted it. That is what I HATE about politics. Politicians (none of them) ever say what they think or they feel...only what they think you want to hear. I hate the pandering and dishonesty, on both sides. It reeks.

It's rather comical how you rant about the evils of someone with ambition and goals in one sentence, and then in the next sentence insult all those who live in a trailer park. I guess I'm guilty of a little prejudice myself, as anyone who calls anyone "trailer trash" I consider that person a "snob", and a much less desirable person than the one who lives in a trailer park. Aside from the job search, I had one of those life-and-death immigration fires to put out last night for a Somali woman, here illegally, trying to declare political asylum for herself and her two youngest daughters, ages 6 and 8, in an effort to spare them from female genital circumcision / mutilation, a fate she and her eldest daughter could not escape in time. Seems the visa quotas for Somalia are full for the next century or so. She needed help filling out some of the mountains of immigration paperwork. I kinda thought that was an issue a tad more important than swapping our latest round of whatevers. This reality check helped me decide that I really do have bigger fish to fry than this petty, pathetic, bickering banter.
Others in my “camp” believe bigotry deniers are just about one step under Holocaust deniers. WOT to “belabor” that issue one more second with you. Are you not aware how old this smear campaign is and how ineffective it has been thus far? Though it seems like a couple of lifetimes ago, I do recall it being around at least as far back as February. It was kept alive all the way up until Obama successfully clenched the nomination of his party despite the Hannity cult's diligence to make it stick. It finally faded out after their original mission had failed miserably and he emerged from the primaries on top. You can post this stupidity until the end of time but it isn't going to accomplish anything except to make you look like the ignorant, out of touch bigot that you are, marginalize the fringe that subscribes to these beliefs and make your own party look like fools.
I am a WASP American who has many more Moslem friends than Christians for reasons that would be a waste of time to explain to someone with such a narrow, tiny brain. My relationship to that community spans more than 5 decades and my life has been enriched tenfold because of it. I have traveled there, lived amongst them, married into a Moslem family, born Christian children from that union and buried a few along the way. I speak 2 of their languages, have read the Quran, their literature and appreciated their extensive historical contributions to the arts, music and the sciences.
I have lost count of how many of them I have known. I can tell you they are an intelligent, educated and spiritual people. They have family values every bit as strong as Americans and an even stronger sense of community. They take pride in humility and honor. In all those many years, never ONCE have I known a terrorist among them. I know they are out there and I know that unfortunately the politicized version of Islam is every bit as ugly as the politicized version of Chritianity.
It makes no difference whether Obama is a Christian with Moslem ties or a Moslem who has converted (which he is not). As a matter of fact, I have also known many Moslems who have converted, but Obama is not one of them. He is a remarkable human being and this country is blessed to have him as a choice for leadership in this election. What I can tell you is that the ugly, bigoted sentiments expressed here are universally repulsive to all people of faith. Today, you have made me feel ashamed to call myself a Christian.

In answer to AG's question, why do celebrities become the spokeperson's for different causes? They have the finances, fame and connections to rally support. Sure, there are smaller organizations out there, but many would not get the air time or financial support as MJF.

And of the 1.2 million abortions performed in this country every year, how may do you think are due to rape (by anyone), incest, or to protect the life of the mother? Less than 20%. All the others are oops abortions. So let's start with delegalizing abortion except in the case of rape, incest, and endangering the life of the mother. That would save about 800,000 babies a year. That would be a great place to start. It might also encourage better stewardship of those uteruses you want the government to stay out of.
