Here's a direct quote from a speech Obama gave:
"We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we've set. We gotta have a civilian national security force - just as powerful, as strong, just as well funded."
I cannot help but believe that if we give up the right to bear arms, this "civilian force" will be equal to the army in other countries that prohibit their people from "speaking out." The people who are protesting in Iran, have only rocks to fight back with, while the army has all the guns and tanks. Fair and balanced - what say you???
