I would not say that person needs to get a heart. How horrible to say to someone! I personally feel that it is shame that the elderly are having to suffer after working hard for so many years but I also think it is a shame that so many younger people are struggling to start their lives because college is so expensive and jobs are very scarce right now. You have young adults who are busting their hump everyday and because of the crooks in Washington and the crooked CEOs.....many of us are terrified what tomorrow might bring. Many or our jobs are on the chopping block. So all in all....I feel bad for everyone right now because times are tough. At least the elderly still have SS. The way things are going, even if I work everyday of my life, I highly doubt that there will be SS at all for me when I reach that age. There are a lot of people hurting right now and it isn't just the elderly. It is a shame all around and I don't think the poster above was trying to say....to he!! with old people......but they were right when they said a lot of other people are suffering right now too. Look at the thousands of people who are locked out of their plants because Chrysler is going through bankruptcy.
IMO, this administration has done more harm than good. This spending is just outrageous and they cannot even account where all the money has gone. They want to charge us more for co2 emissions so they force our country to go green even though Spain is about the greenish country and their unemployment rate is very high. Not to mention the fact that our co2 emissions are a drop in the bucket compared to the emissions from other countries.
The only thing that I've agreed with Obama on so far is making the tax code simple.
But I truly do not feel that you calling someone heartless for sharing their point of view is called for. They were just pointing out the other people who are struggling as well.
