Offshore outsourcing and MT jobs

Senator Obama is going to stop giving tax breaks to companies who offshore.  That includes Medical Transcription Companies who outsource their work to offshore companies.  There will be an abundance of work for MTs here in the US, just like there used to be before our work started being sent overseas.

Medical Transcription used to be one of the top 10 careers but not anymore since it is outsourced overseas.  That is why our pay is decreasing and it is harder to find a job.  Senator McCain has been a senator for the last 30 years, yet our worked has continued to be sent overseas.  What change has he brought about?

If you want to get the profession of Medical Transcription back to the way it used to be where we had excellent pay and an abundance of work, vote for the man who wants to stop outsourcing our work overseas.  That man is Senator Obama.  Do your research before you cast your vote which might in turn hurt your very own profession, Medical Transcription!

I am casting my vote for Senator Obama and looking forward to once again being proud to be an American and having the work back in America where it belongs.

Barack Obama introduced the Patriot Employer Act of 2007 to provide a tax credit to companies that maintain or increase the number of full-time workers in America relative to those outside the US; maintain their corporate headquarters in America; pay decent wages; prepare workers for retirement; provide health insurance; and support employees who serve in the military.

PLEASE, everybody, see that Barack Obama is for keeping jobs in America and has shown this by passing this tax credit to encourage jobs in America.  This is something he has already done, so we know he will help us fight this in the future.  PLEASE DO NOT VOTE FOR HILLARY, who supports our jobs being outsourced.

I have stood behind Barack Obama and have sent emails questioning what he plans to do to help MTs in America.  Just do the research and spread the word, PLEASE, not to vote for Hillary and to maintain support with Barack, who has shown he is BEHIND US!!

I believe that one of the ways we can ALL show support is to refuse to accept a position with a company that outsources offshore.  I used to work for Spheris and did so for five years, but the company I work for now does not offshore and I will continue on in this direction.  LET'S HELP OUR AMERICAN-BASED MT COMPANIES, AS SMALL AS THEY MAY BE, PROSPER!!  Apply for a job with a company that does not offshore!  We have to start somewhere!

I promise to never work for a company that offshores...will you?  I promise to help keep Hillary Clinton out of the White House...will you?

Obama has stated repeatedly that the USA doesn't have a fair playing field when outsourcing jobs.  Instead of continuing to give companies tax breaks for outsourcing our jobs, he wants to give the tax breaks to companies that KEEP jobs in the USA.  This was another of the many reasons I voted for him.  Another example, IMHO, of the "trickle up" theory.

At least he and SP seem to be on the same page today.  SP:  "...and Alaska - we're set up, unlike other states in the union, where it's collectively Alaskans own the resources. So we share in the wealth when the development of these resources occurs"....boasting to a reporter of having been able to send a check for $1,200 to every man, woman and child in the state since, quote "Alaska is sometimes described as America's socialist state, because of its collective ownership of resources.”

that I posted about yesterday.  I am still trying to find some info to support what Sam had said about tax breaks so the companies can come back and hire US workers.  Even though I think that him saying that or thinking that is such a piece.  When you give tax breaks to these companies they are going to keep the tax breaks and continue to use cheaper workers from other companies.  There is no real incentive, or provision to make them, hire US workers.

Hubby was telling me last night that China's economy is now tanking because ours is.  Factory workers over there were showing up for work only to find their business had closed because of lack of orders from the U.S.  India may be next.  You never know.  I don't see it happening with MT but like I said, you just don't know.  Did you see their work days?  6 days a week and something like 12 or 14 hours a day?

I hear lip service from Nobama/Maobama about cutting taxes to bring our businesses back but don't see him acting on it.  He's a one-termer.  Carter got us in a heap of trouble which Reagan (I know union employees aren't fond of him) had to get us out of.  All Nobama is doing is having construction/building jobs sprout up here and there.  And where does the money come from to pay for his multi-trillion dollar spending?  You got it - us.  Those jobs will eventually fizzle out, our country will be poorer and those people will once again be unemployed.. 

Dems coined the phrase Voodoo Economics for Reagan's Trickle Down Economics.  Whether or not you liked the man, he did a world of good for this country.  He did cut capital gains taxes and cut taxes for the rich.  Trickle down 101:  You cut taxes for the rich, they can afford to hire more employees, more often than not, at better wages.  Unemployment is down.  People go out and spend more money because they are employed and can afford to.  During Reagan's terms in office, he cut taxes immensely yet the government took in more money.  People would much rather spend their money the way they want than have the government take it and spend it.  

Folks, we work for our government.  Our government should be working for us.  We should not live in fear of the IRS.  I attended a TEA party on April 15 and will attend more such events.  We should have a government for the people, of the people and by the people.  The protest was very peaceful and guess what?  Not a bit of litter was left to be found when it ended, like the disgrace that was left after the inauguration in Washington, DC. 

We are getting so far away from a constitutional government, it's not funny.  Actually, my opinion is that we are currently a socialist government.  You know the next step after socialism?  Communism. 

I read the most recent list of who they consider a terrorist.  Hoarding food?  Um, yep.  Better buy it now in case a depression hits.  Glad I have a breadmaker.  Wouldn't want to have to spend $50 on a loaf of bread.  Buying lots of ammo?  Sure, but then again, we do competition shooting.  Guns?  Yeah, we have our share, but variety is the spice of life (Hubby bought me a Macarov but I didn't care for the way it operated (too hard to load the mag), especially after the slide came back and sliced my thumb open 5 times, bad lacerations - my fault, was handling it wrong, so I got a Glock).  My husband is an Iraqi war vet.  That makes us both domestic terrorists.  Yet neither one of us even has the heart to even discipline our dogs.  We're both very gentle people.  Of course if someone broke into our home, we would defened ourselves. 

I'm sorry for the rant but I just don't see Nobama caring much about outsourcing.  I really really really hope I am wrong and what he is doing for our country is the right thing but I truly resent being labeled a domestic terrorist because I see us headed for a depression and am stocking up on food, and my husband happened to be in the military during the Gulf war.

Keep on ranting about the stupid b/c like as if you are smarter than Hillary and McCain.  If there'd been even a SNIFF of wrongdoing in the b/c, they would have drug it out and already drug it through the mud.  Personally I don't think a lot of the nut jobs who hang out here are even MTs.  I think they are professional political pot stirers!!!

I'm serious. That will leave 7M still on the unemployment rolls. We are really in for a long haul here. Thank heavens I don't live in a city. At least we can grow our own food.

why aren't we drilling for oil?  Why aren't we getting wind farms going?  If our government would take more money to look into alternative fuels, not only would that stop our dependency on foreign oil but we will need workers to maintain those things, etc.  Those will be jobs that will last.  It won't be like construction work like Obama wants.  Once the roads are repaired and bridges fixed, etc....then what?  I just think we are going in the wrong direction and I just don't understand why.  We need to tap our resources with offshore drilling.  We need to drill Alaska.  While we are doing that, we need to look for alternatives to oil.  The sooner they do that, the sooner car companies can make environmentally safer cars and vehicles.  I mean....come on.

The money being doled out for infrastructure is definitely not enough. There are many, many roads and bridges that have to be built/rebuilt in the country and any one of them would cost $1 million and up.  PA is getting $2.7M for roads. Is that going to take care of the roads? Doubt it. Headlines recenty in our paper stated PA was going to get $6B. I checked the charts and don't see where he gets that figure.

WASHINGTON — Skittish employers slashed 533,000 jobs in November, the most in 34 years, catapulting the unemployment rate to 6.7 percent, dramatic proof the country is careening deeper into recession.

The new figures, released by the Labor Department Friday, showed the crucial employment market deteriorating at an alarmingly rapid clip, and handed Americans some more grim news right before the holidays.

As companies throttled back hiring, the unemployment rate bolted from 6.5 percent in October to 6.7 percent last month, a 15-year high.

"These numbers are shocking," said economist Joel Naroff, president of Naroff Economics Advisors. "Companies are sharply reacting to the economy's problems and slashing costs. They are not trying to ride it out."

The unemployment rate would have moved even higher if not for the exodus of 422,000 people from the work force. Economists thought many of those people probably abandoned their job searches out of sheer frustration. In November 2007, the jobless rate was at 4.7 percent.

The U.S. tipped into recession last December, a panel of experts declared earlier this week, confirming what many Americans already thought.

Since the start of the recession, the economy has lost 1.9 million jobs, the number of unemployed people increased by 2.7 million and the jobless rate rose by 1.7 percentage points.

President-elect Barack Obama said the dismal job news underscored the need for forceful action, even as he warned that the pain could not be quickly relieved.

Thank you President Bush. You have been such a disaster. You are going to go down as the worst president in our history.

have to change. Quite frankly, I'd rather feed a family than endure/survive a home invasion. We haven't even SEEN the outcome of this economic crisis. When people are hungry, they steal. When people have nowhere to live, they steal. They steal in order to survive. In order to avoid massive civil unrest - these people need a safety net. My husband is laid off and he is a professional. I pray we don't have to resort to eating out of dumpsters in order to survive. And don't think for a minute you are immune.

Recipe for Holy War: Add two nut jobs and stir
All right. I'm now officially scared.

Having just read Seymour Hersh's article about Bush's Iran plan, it appears that we no longer have a case of the good guys versus the bad guys.

What we have here is the bad guy versus the bad guy - two madmen playing an international game of chicken, ratcheting up the rhetoric to appeal to their fundamentalist followers.

There's no doubt that Iran's president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is mad in the head. In fact, it might help you remember his name if you pronounce it Ah'm mad in ee head.

He's got a uranium enrichment program going on so he can build nuclear power plants. But since he's crazy, there's a lot of worldwide concern that he's going to build a nuclear bomb while he's at it.

The U.N. atomic watchdog agency, which paid him a little visit last week, says there's no evidence that he's working on weapons. Even so, the world is feeling a little squirmy about letting Ah'm Mad In Ee Head carry on with his nuclear program. Everyone keeps asking him to quit it, but he's dug in his heels.

So that's one madman on the loose.

The other one - our very own nut job in the White House - is licking his chops over what he perceives as a stubborn challenge from Iran's president.

In last week's New Yorker magazine, Hersh provided a detailed look at Bush's response to Ah'm Mad In Ee Head. According to Hersh's sources, Bush wants Ah'm Mad In Ee Head to defy U.N. demands to quit playing with uranium.

You know why? Because our own madman wants to trot out one of our own nukes and bomb Iran's madman out of business - along with a few hundred thousand other Iranians, of course.

As one congressman told Hersh, The most worrisome thing is that Bush has a messianic vision. Bush is waging a holy war. He's on a crusade. And so is Ah'm Mad In Ee Head.

One nut-job fundamentalist Christian plus one nut-job fundamentalist Muslim equals one nut-job Holy War.

The administration's talking heads deny this, of course. They say Hersh is in fantasyland. That's funny. It's exactly what they said about Hersh when he broke the story about U.S. soldiers torturing prisoners in Abu Ghraib.

And so the rest of the world's people are as scared of George Bush as they are of Ah'm Mad In Ee Head. This unelected president of ours has systematically been dehumanizing Arabs. He's imprisoned them without charges. He's tortured them. He's killed them. And now he wants to nuke them.

He's like a child with a serious case of ADHD. He's lost interest in Iraq and is looking for a new toy to break. Iraq, after all, has turned out badly, so he's doing what he always does when he makes a mess of something - he's turning his attention elsewhere and starting a whole new mess.

The rest of the world prefers diplomacy, and for a good reason.

If Bush attacks Iran, he will unleash Hezbollah - Iran's strong, well organized terrorist organization. And who do you think Hezbollah's first target will be? The sitting ducks right next door in Iraq - American troops. Then Europe and Israel will go up in flames.

So now I'm officially scared. On their own, Bush and Ah'm Mad In Ee Head are frightening enough. Working together, these two could create the Perfect Storm.

Let's have a drink
