They live in motels in our town. The motels are across the street from an elementary school where they kids go. On payday, they go to Wal-Mart and the mall, which is directly across from the motels. Even an urgent walk-in medical clinic is right across the street. Everything is at their disposal. A truck picks them up on Monday and takes them to whatever area they are working (usually chicken plants) and then they are returned in the afternoon. These motels don't do business otherwise, so they are MORE than happy to accommodate them. They are illegals and shouldn't be here. One major employer in our area had their business raided due to all the illegals working for them. Many were arrested because they are illegal. Blame the employer for hiring below minimum wage and keeping everything under the wire. When the laws on the books are enforced, employers would be fined to the point they would no longer hire illegals.
The population of illegals have become very prevalent in our area and they have also become blatantly rude while out shopping, etc. They butt in front of you while checking out at a register and just sneer. I have stopped many, put my hand out, and said no...I am next. I dare them to say anything. That's the problem, we have become so PC about everything, we forget WE are the ones who should be in charge of our country, not ILLEGALS!!!

Thank god I rent
I read all these posts and I just say thank god I rent. Seems like a lot of people really got messed over on a lot of their loans no matter whether it was the Clinton or Bush administration. All I know is if anything breaks down in my house I call the landlord. If my roof flies off in a tornado I call my landlord. If my fireplace backs up I call my landlord. I can move any time I want to and I don't owe anyone anything. I'm not having to put a bunch of money into my place to fix it up unless I want to, and I don't have to pay property taxes or homeowners fees. I see so many of my family members who kept telling me buy, buy, buy, it's the only way to secure your future. My brother even told me if I own my own place I can never be evicted and I will always have a roof over my head (of course he wanted me to buy the house down the road from him). Now all of my family members houses are going down in value. My sister bought into the townhouse craze and she paid 600K for basically an apartment with very noisy neighbors on the other side of the wall. I rent a small house and my rent payment is less than half her mortgage payment (and I have more space and my neighbors are across the street). I think she's a little jealous but she can't sell, however her job is at risk right now. I of course told her she's welcome to come live with me but she said if she sells she can only get less than $200 for it. I'm just thankful I rent.
And what about the 30% of Americans who rent?
You know, the ones of us who were responsible enough NOT to buy into a rip-off mortgage we knew we couldn't pay?
Do we get stuck with government cheese? Or is Whoopi-dee-doo going to kick in some of her dough to give us an equitable share in this 'idea' of hers?
Face it, if people hadn't been so greedy, trying to buy homes they couldn't afford, goaded on by left-wing Democrats pushing for ridiculous loans for unqualified minorities, we wouldn't have this huge problem right now.
It's the age of ME-ME-ME-NOW-NOW-NOW. And now the whole country's paying for it.
