Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
The operative words being "or the free exercise thereof." You folks on this board sure don't follow THAT part of the first ammendment, do you?? lol
There is nothing there about freedom FROM religion. It was intended that there never be a state-sponsored religion like the Church of England they were running from. If you knew your history, you would know that.
Our founding fathers were Christians and it was interwoven in their lives. They did not put it on on Sunday and take it off on Monday. You should read some of their writings.
