Never have, probably never will

Believe it or not, there are many people who never have made that much, and probably never will.  I'm one of them; and I'm not closely acquainted with anyone that does.  So I've always had a hard time relating to people that say they can't make it if they have any less.  I presume they allow their expenses to expand to fit their income, which is human nature.  But being in a tax bracket where I consider myself lucky to have even one house, I can't imagine feeling deprived having to give up a vacation house, my personal trainer, or private schools for the kids, because I've never had all that to begin with.
