Never again

I have been reading the papers, listening to the Sunday morning shows and I am just incredulous. I thought after the conflict in Vietnam that there were certain terms I would never in my lifetime hear again, but seems I was wrong. Of course quagmire has been around for awhile, but cut and run, leave the country to the insurgents (communists) who will kill us all, ...will not set a timetable for withdrawal.., this war cannot be won on the ground, ad nauseum. I believe that Bush will be channeling Nixon soon, wanting to withdraw with honor, his pride and arrogance more important than the lives being lost and from this point on, every life, American and Iraqi will be for nothing because we will finally leave Iraq and things will fall on that date just as they would fall were we to leave today. This was a sad Thanksgiving..we lost a couple of more 18-year-olds over the holiday weekend here in St. Pete. One bright note though, November 2006 will be upon us before we know it and we can all be assured that the Republicans up for reelection will be quite anti-war at that time. We may even have our soldiers home by then...better that than lose an election.
