Nah, she probably already made up her mind it's false, even if AP reported it...nm

no, my mind is already made up
I have been catching some of it (busy with MT and all) but what I really want to see is political commentary by someone who can say these were the good things about the speech and these are the things that weren't good or they should have talked about. Watching Democrat commentary they mostly say everything is wonderful and great speeches, and wathcing Republican commentary they mostly say the speech was lame or ineffective or whatever. Isn't anyone impartial? I'm really missing Tim Russert now.. :(
You seem to have your mind made up
You'll believe what you want to believe. But, I just wanted to comment on tax breaks for companies that stay in this country. The reason they left was because they had exorbitant taxes placed on them to the point they basically said, enough!
BTW, no matter how anyone tries to justify things, these are the same companies who were providing jobs for millions of Americans. They paid their share of insurance premiums for thousands or millions, their share of payroll taxes, had to comply with environmentalists (which was basically a tax), had to meet all kinds of other standards that were expensive, etc. The insatiable giant govt machine (Congress) who wanted to extract more and more are the ones to blame for that fiasco. Now I see they're wanting to offer tax cuts to the ones who remained!! It seems they can learn a lesson or two after all, if we believe they'll actually do it.
As for the big oil companies, yes they make a lot of money, but they're producing a product and they won't do that without paying well, like any other successful company that provides a multitude of jobs. There are great costs to produce that product, and they're taxed at an exorbitant tax rate as it is.
And as for their profits, considering what they actually make off of a gallon of gas for instance, a huge amount of that goes to their investors, including teacher's pension portfolios, just to name one. And they're already paying billions more in taxes than they make in profits, and now some in congress want to tax their profits with another windfall profits tax! Just incredible. Where does it end!!
But, Congress does control the purse-strings, so they'll do whatever they want, and they'll continue to tax, tax, and tax some more, every "big" business that provides incredible jobs into non-existence.
One day, those of us who work our tails off, will just sit down and give up and let Uncle Sam take care of us with their tax money they get from.....
I've clearly made up my mind
and I'd much rather have a woman for VP that listens to concerns of other people about books in a library and bringing it up to be considered than a man who has sketchy friends and who was listed as his religion being Muslim on a form filled out for a school he attended in Indonesia. I do not and cannot trust Obama.
Who reported that? SM
But as I said, it really doesn't matter to me. I like him.
reported it
I reported it to the administrator and monitor.
This definitely needs to be reported!
I certainly hope you report this to the monitor, gt. They KNOW you're Jewish. You've mentioned it many, many times on this board.
Can you imagine how pitiful their lives must be to cause them to stoop to such a low level?
What they really deserve is pity.
NOBODY bothered them on their board. They came here ONLY to cause trouble and try to turn this board into a sewer like their own board. I can't imagine what it must be like to harbor so much hatred in one heart; it can't leave much room for the Jesus they claim to worship so much. It must be a very heavy burden. We've done nothing to them.
This board was starting to become a pleasant place to visit again. I guess it was just too much for them to take.
Reported to the FBI??
Who's paranoid now?? My point is that this is a board that at best is duplicitous. I did not know it was privately owned and run by an extremely conservative individual. I know I left the religion board a long time ago because it was run by someone who appeared to be of the religous right who deleted posts left and right and was very ugly about it in the process. On an open forum, people can be of any faith or none at all. I seem to remember the Pagan/Wiccan posts going first. Anyway, at the time I thought it was odd that MTStars would allow one of its volunteers (see below) to dismiss anyone who was not of his or her persuasion on a public forum. I do not think that a private person with a private agenda should be given a platform to expound on that platform on an open discussion board. The first page of MT Stars states, and I quote...MTStars provides this site, free of charge, to all MTs and those holding other related positions in the healthcare industry. We believe that an open forum with a minimum of deletion is paramount to successful networking across the globe, and we are confident that this is why MTStars is the success it is today.
MTStars takes this opportunity to thank our many sponsors and volunteers. Without you MTStars would not be a reality. That last statement leads me to believe that sponsors put up the money and volunteer MTs did the administrative/moderator work and had to be openminded and fair in their assessments of posts. I wonder what the sponsors would think if they knew exactly what it is they are buying (in its entirety). I am looking forward to speaking with someone from MTStars as well as ForuMatrix. The more you know...
Reported to the FBI...
Friend Lurker, you are the one who sounds paranoid. Yes, a death threat to the President of the United States, ANY President of ANY party, is supposed to be reported to the FBI or Secret Service, regardless of where it originates. That is what the poster meant. As to this board....what is your problem? If you don't want to post here, don't. If you don't like the way it is handled, don't stay. So far as I can tell, the only posts that have been removed have been ones that bash this country or bash the President. I trust it would be the same no matter what party the President belonged to. It is called respect of tradition, respect of the office, respect of the origins of this country...which you obviously don't give a whit about. Thank God there are people who still do. Thank God!
It has just been reported
to the FBI tips hotline. I hope they will definitely take action on this!
CNN just reported it as well.........
-
I'm saying CNN reported showed it rt b4
Still looking, but since CNN repeats their stuff so much, you can probably catch the report later this p.m.
You mean reported by Politico
You couldn't possibly be quoting Fox as reliable, now could you???
FOX reported this but not a word from CNN
)
Wrong you are.......it has already been reported
@
They also reported that this operation is
in "retaliation" for those Israelis killed by Hamas bombings into Israel since the cease fire expired on December 19. Hamas launched their offensive because (as usual) Israel failed to live up to their end of the bargain and did not lift the blockade of supplies into Gaza, which was a precondition of the original cease fire (that lasted 6 months).
The report said that for all of 2008, Hamas had killed a grand total of 9 Israelis with their home-made missles, 2 of them being the ones you mentioned that occurred since this most recent operation. It is difficult to ascertain how many Palestinians have been killed in the past year by the Israelis just in their "normal" day-to-day policing in the occupied terrotories, but you can bet your bootie it's been more than 9.
Bottom line has not changed. That's life (and death) under occupation.
So if this story was reported on
CNN and you claim that it was picked up on from Fox News with Fox's spin....wouldn't it be the responsbility of CNN to debunk that then instead of just reporting what Fox News did if Fox News is indeed wrong. If Fox News is full of crap and CNN reports the same thing...wouldn't CNN be full of crap too or are you giving CNN a free pass just like the media does Obama? Just curious.
Oh, I feel you. I don't know which is better for the Iraqi's, b/c what is usually reported is sm
the military casualties, not the civilian casualties in Iraq.
Fox News did report this week about a military man whose family was murdered, wife and children while he was out working. That's awful, that's terror. When I hear stories like that I do think of the terror the people are experiencing due to this war, but they did have it bad under Sadaam. They're in a catch 22.
This was reported on none other than Fox News yesterday.
I'd say if she's camping out in front of his house what would it hurt to peek his head out and talk with the woman? But then again, he probably has nothing to say other than, "We're making progress. War is hard."
She's obviously had time and enough grief to set in to do a 360. You know people handle grief differently.
I think he doesn't want to talk to her now because she's upset, and Bush does not do well in face-to-face adversial situations, so he probably wouldn't be able to help her by talking to her anyway.
It does not matter who reported it, Taiga...
there are facts within it that are not in dispute. Take the Tim Russert thing for example. He had the pictures of the 747 fuselage at Salman Pak. He showed it on his TV show. He showed it to Cheney. Only at that time, it was RUSSERT who was saying to CHENEY "Can you honestly sit there and tell me you don't think there is a 9-11 connection?" That is a fact, Taiga. It happened. I can see why no one else would report it. And as to timely? You have to report it when it happened. And it did happen. All I am saying is...basically you can't believe ANYONE because the left wing and the right wing have been on both sides, top and bottom of this issue. They have all flip-flopped on it. So WHO do you believe? I tend to believe the picture. I have seen the picture. They showed the picture on TV numerous times (the Salman Pak picture). And as the article stated, none of those facts are in dispute, even from the 9-11 commission, except one.
As to the 9-11 Commission...don't get me started. Did you actually watch any of it while it was happening? Talk about a stacked deck and questions asked to get certain answers. What a JOKE that was. That being said, there is a lot of information that came out that never made it to the "assessment" they put out. I was watching it during the time George Tenet testified. He says in his book he never said slam dunk, but he darn well did, I HEARD him. And that never made it into the "assessment" either. I purposely watched as much of the 9-11 hearings as I could, because I knew a lot was not going to make the "assessment." Independent they were not. That was exceedingly obvious from the questioning.
I do not understand your penchant for "timely." If something happened, it happened. That is what I mean about selective memory. You remember it if it is germane to your discussion, and you dismiss it as "the past" (like it never happened) and use "timely" as an excuse. I really don't get that. But, I don't have to...whatever floats yer boat.
This story is reported all over the networks, not just
nm
No, but they have repeatedly reported the anchor
@
Excuse me. This was reported by NBC, LA Times, etc.
Now you can see why "poisoning the well" arguments are so pathetic unless you get your facts straight first.
And, incidentally, there's no network that covers the news more fairly than Fox (sometimes even to the point that I am aggravated when their guests or commentators take a certain position). You might start watching it yourself, and then you'd never post a ridiculous comment like this again.
Excuse me. This was reported by NBC, LA Times, etc.
Now you can see why "poisoning the well" arguments are so pathetic unless you get your facts straight first.
And, incidentally, there's no network that covers the news more even-handedly than Fox, to the point that people on each side of the aisle accuse them of being slanted toward the other side!! I know they've aggravated me more than once with their liberal guests and commentators - but that's the hallmark of fair reporting, IMHO.
Stop drinking the lefty koolaid.
It was reported on all the major news
All I have do to know what will be posted on this form is watch Fox commentators and read a few conservative websites. All some of you do is regurgitate the half-truths and out-right lies spoon fed to you by people with an agenda. Think for yourselves once in a while.
No, both plus yours are false.
On intercountry adoption you will find the following: "...the laws of the child’s country of birth govern all activity in that country including the adoptability of individual children as well as the adoption of children in the country in general"...that country of birth being the United States. It does not matter in the slightest the hoops Obama's mom and adopted father had to jump through to satisfy INDONESIAN immigration law, designation of religion or school admission requirements. Dual citizenship, triple citizenship...whatever...does NOT and WILL NEVER cancel his US citizenship.

this was not false
This was on the news, it is online and this comment was not false. Do you not keep up with the latest?
Reported on Fox news. I can't verify...I wasn't there.

channel 2 reported on recruiters tactics
Channel 2 did a bit on their nightly news. I believe it was a college paper reporter who went undercover and told the recruiters he had done drugs and other things that would have disqualified him and the recruiters were salivating at the thought of signing him up and told him ways to get into the service even though. These recruiters would take a dead man if his body was still warm, for pete sake. I say, you need people in the military, check out the people in the administration, ask if their children will join for the *better good of all to bring democracy to the world*.
couldn't find the clip, but CNN reported it and
nm
Just wait a minute. The flags were reported
nm
You will NOT see this site reported in the mainstream media....
way too much in the tank for Obama. In fact, they are as mesmerized as the people on this site (remember Chris Matthews of MSNBC and the tingle up his leg when Obama spoke). Never could I "pull the lever" for this guy. No way. No how.
I agree also. News media reported after (NM)

Excuse me. I gave the AI exactly as reported by Rasmussen.
Misrepresent my eye.
And only 37% think the country is going in the right direction - I didn't even mention that little number.
The fact that this is a daily poll makes absolutely no difference because the +30 number he started off with was a daily number as well, so it's comparing apples to apples. All you have to do is look at the trend to see it's going DOWN DOWN DOWN DOWN DOWN with - exactly AS I SAID - a few blips up.
Galls ya, doesn't it?
Nice try, but no cigar and/or kewpie doll for yew today!
false accusations
You know, back in the late 1990's, I belonged to a political group and there was one person who started off posting okay, as the hours went on, her posts grew more and more illogical, like how yours do. Well, when I finally befriended her, she confided she was an alcoholic and when she first sat down, she was okay, as she drank, her posts did not make sense. Kind of like your posts. I have told you over and over, I NEVER wished rotting in hell to anyone on any of these boards, I wish it still for Bush and all that got us into this never-ending war against *terrorism*. Then you state I called the three cohorts three stooges, nope, not me. The thing that cracks me up, is the proof is in the pudding. The posts are here for anyone to read and see that your accusations are false. So, why dont you just put that bottle down, its only gonna give you major organ damage in the long run. A nice cup of green tea can be just as relaxing.
False beliefs
On the flip side, what good will the war do us when we lose our house, our jobs, can no longer afford the food in the stores, can't buy gas to get to work (if you still have a job), you and your family now have to find a campground or shelter to live at (or worse) and the banks close and now you can't get any of your money out that you may have in there (this has already happened somewhere - would have to research again to find the exact location but its here in the US). This is exactly the scare tactics/agenda McCain is trying to push (gotta keep up the war, keep up the war, everyone is the enemy, lets keep it going for 100 years) - give me a break! They are trying to get enough people to be afraid (which is in itself a form of terrorism) that we are going to be attacked again. You know what...get our troops home and we will have more troops to protect our borders and increase security here in the US) Well first the economy is the most important issue (at least to me), unless of course you plan to pack up your stuff and go join the service and fight over there. If the economy collapses where are you going to be. How bout your parents/grandparents who cannot just pick up so easily and move to another area. McCain keeps pushing the war issue because he has no clue about the economy. He doesn't even remain consistent with his issue on gay marriage. My feeling is I don't care if George & John down the street or Mary & Sue down the road want to get married - that will not effect my day-to-day life however the economy does, my job does, eating and paying bills does affect me each day. McCain was at a meeting and he said he was for gay marriage, then 11 minutes later he said he was not for gay marriage. He's too old and out of touch with reality. Do you really want someone with his temper ready to hit the launch button in in whim? He is not a stable man (in my opinion).
false. Throw something
else against the wall, may be it will stick.
True and false
True - last 8 years were not good (including the last two with a democratic congress). With that said I was glad there were two new people running and not Bush again.
Attractiveness is a major component for success.
Charisma can be successful but very very dangerous. Charisma mesmerizes people. When people are mesmerized they don't think clearly. They fall into a hypnotic state (which Obama is very good at), and you can tell them anything and they will believe it. Just look at all the people who actually believe Obama is the Messiah or Moses.
As for the qualifications. Obama doesn't have any unless you call being a charismatic speaker experienced. After all he got a lot of people to believe that being a community organizer was enough experience to be president. I also found it interesting Joe Biden and Bill Clinton both said he lacked the experience to be president.
This is a false rumor
Check out emails like this that you get on snopes.com. If you go to snopes website and type in AIG bailout congress pension you will get the real truth. So many emails I get are totally false I never forward anything until I check it out on snopes.
This is false per www.truthorfiction.com. sm
I think it is a good letter fake or not.
Ms. Kathleen Lyday is a real person, works for Grandview Elementary School in Hillsboro, MO but told TruthorFiction.com that she did not author this letter.
We have not found who actually wrote this.
Below is the disclaimer from ToF.
School teacher wrote a letter to President Obama criticizing his actions on a 2009 overseas trip -Fiction!
Cool. I reported it to them too. Hey mods, leave this thread, yes? NM
I reported 'Ahem's' and 'Anon2's' messages to the moderators
I suppose it is the same person.
making false statements
Well, if someone posts that I have called them a bigot TEN TIMES and all I see is the heading of my post talking about bigotry..what do you call it? I call em as I see em..Liar is someone putting out false and misleading statements. Stating that I called you a bigot 10 times is false and misleading..hence, liar..
Your "quotes" of what I said in my post are false. - sm
I said nothing about suing a Christian wearing a cross, nor did I mention the ACLU. I also said nothing about 'not going near the
White House'. And I basically know nothing of the Mt. Soledad cross, nor do I really give a rip about it.
If you're going to use this forum to try to push your faith on people, and if you're going to 'quote' me, then you better first:
a) Actually READ the post,
and
b) Quote me verbatim, without making up a lot of garbage that I never said.
false. No basis in reality for
this statement.
False charge exposed
RE: Obama filed lawsuit that "bullied" banks into giving risky loans.
Buycks-Roberson vs CitiBank Federal Savings Bank 1994. This was a class action lawuit which sought to challenge the practice of redlining, based on the 14th Amendment requirement of "fair and equal treatment for all citizens." The lawsuit charged that CitiBank rejected loan applications of minority applicants while approving loan applications filed by white applicants with similar financial characteristics and credit histories. This was settled out of court. Some class members received cash payments and CitiBank revised its discriminatory lending practice policies.
The action was brought against a single bank…CitiBank, though redlining was a widespread practice at the time. Obama DID NOT FILE this lawsuit. He was a junior member of an 8-member team that worked on the case. The lead attorney for CitiBank does not recall ever seeing Obama in the court during the proceedings. Obama charged a total of 2 hours and 50 minutes for his work on the case for reviewing some documents before a deposition and appeared ONCE before the judge to request an extension of time for filing a response to a motion in the case.
This decision did not "force banks" to do anything except to process minority loan applications the same as they were processing loans to white applicants. If this outcome in any way contributed to the mortgage crisis some 14 years later, it would be based on the fact that the banks were already handing out those "bad loans" hand-over-fist to the white applicants…a practice they agreed to extend to ALL applicants as "fair and equal treatment" under the 14th Amendment.
Once the facts get a thorough look-see, it becomes evident that the charges the McCain camp are trying to lay on Obama are (surprise, surprise) patently false.
Like I posted above, this is flat out false
He knows there is no way in heck he can do this. Like I said above, a state representative told me they don't even get those plans like the Senators do and other high officials in the white house and you won't be getting the choice of one either. He said the cost to us would be trillions of dollars to pay for it, those with insurance they are now paying for won't even be allowed to get on board, which he said Obama knows means those on the welfare roll will be the ones he will be trying to get the better healthcare plan for. Well, Obama must be in lah lah land because how are they going to pay for this plan on welfare? They won't.....you and I will but WE won't be getting that plan.
Beware of false prophets!
Thanks for the vote of confidence in a country I still believe in! Keep that divisive attitude - it will serve you well.
And the false prophets name is Obama
Oh, and your welcome, especially since the O keeps dividing the country and not keeping his promises about being the "only" candidate that will bring both democrat & republicans together and have them all on his cabinet, when the only ones he's bringing in are the democratic nazi socialists.
You believe in this country? Do you not see what's happening all around us. Even the O is telling us its going to get worse. Is that what you have confidence in? Sounds like one of those overused phrases that don't mean anything like "yes we can" (i.e., yes we can ruin the country) or "hope" (i.e. hope everyone else will be too focused on AI to see what damage can be done).
Actually the crats are the ones with the "divisive" attitute. Nothing more divisive than bringing only crats to the table.
We'd all be a little more hopeful if he would keep his campaign promises.
That's false; Jefferson didn't say that. sm

"Buried false fable"
nope, not talking down at all.
I don't need to get over myself, and I don't hate and I don't have intolerance EXCEPT for when someone claims to be Christian and does otherwise.
I love all the kindness and tolerance he has shown to the millions of unborn babies who will die thanks to him. SOOO kind! And he was definitely kind as he bowed down to a foreign leader. He'll be so kind as to willingly sell us all to the highest bidder. Can't wait!
