Inverness Police say former Cook County Republican Chairman Gary Skoien admitted having two prostitutes in his children�s playroom when his wife walked in on him early Sunday morning.

The allegation is in a domestic battery report from Skoien, 55, against his 36-year-old, 5-foot-4-inch, 110-pound wife. He said she beat him with her fists and an electric guitar.

But Skoien said the police report inaccurately stated that he had prostitutes in his home. Skoien said he and a friend were talking in the playroom when his wife came down and began beating him.

Eni Skoien spent two nights in a lock-up before being released on a $10,000 personal recognizance bond.

The police report said Skoien had cuts and blood on his hands and there was blood on the walls and stairs near the playroom.

The police report said Skoien �told [the responding officer] he did in fact have prostitutes with him in the playroom when his wife caught him.� The playroom looked like �a struggle of some kind took place there...There were items turned and tossed around the room,� the report said.

�That�s how it was reported to us,� Barrington/Inverness Police Deputy Chief Jerry Libit said.

Allies of Mayor Daley blasted Skoien four years ago when he offered a $10,000 �bounty� four years ago for information that would lead to Daley�s conviction on corruption charges.

The remark got Skoien fired from his real estate job, cost him a seat on the Metra board and prompted calls for his ouster as party chairman, He survived a re-election vote, serving from 2004-2007 as chairman of the GOP, which has not elected a member countywide in 17 years.

Current Republican Party Chairman Lee Roupas said, �It�s an extremely disappointing and unfortunate situation, if the allegations prove to be true.�

Skoien was an aide to former Gov. Jim Thompson and serves as Palatine Township Republican Committeeman.

He said he and his wife of 13 years have been living in separate sections of the house for a while and getting counseling but that he went to police after she hit him last Tuesday while he was brushing his teeth.

On Sunday night, he said his wife was driven home from a function and she went to bed. Skoien called a friend who came over and they were talking in the playroom when his wife woke up and began beating him with her fists and �a hard heavy electric guitar,� he said.

Skoien went to talk to the arresting officers Wednesday after his stories hit the news, trying to convince them that he did not confirm his wife�s contention that she found him with prostitutes.

�If there were hookers, I�m not sure why the police didn�t arrest me -- that�s illegal too,� Skoien said.

He said the officer stuck to his contention that Skoien nodded in affirmance when told his wife�s version of events. Skoien said he disagrees.

Skoien obtained an order of protection that prohibits his wife from having any contact with him or their three children, ages 5, 7 and 8, he said.

     �Although Senator Barack Obama has been allied with a succession of far-Left individuals over the years, that is only half the story. There are, after all, some honest and decent people on the Left. But these have not been the ones that Obama has been allied with � allied, not merely �associated� with.
     ACORN is not just an organization on the left. In addition to the voter frauds that ACORN has been involved in over the years, it is an organization with a history of thuggery, including going to bankers� homes to harass them and their families, in order to force banks to lend to people with low credit ratings.
     Nor was Barack Obama�s relationship with ACORN just a matter of once being their attorney long ago. More recently, he has directed hundreds of thousands of dollars their way. Money talks � and what it says is more important than a politician�s rhetoric in an election year.
     Jeremiah Wright and Michael Pfleger are not just people with left-wing opinions. They are reckless demagogues preaching hatred of the lowest sort � and both are recipients of money from Obama.
     Bill Ayers is not just �an education professor� who has some left-wing views. He is a confessed and unrepentant terrorist, who more recently has put his message of resentment into the schools � an effort using money from a foundation that Obama headed.
     Nor has the help all been one way. During the last debate between John McCain and Barack Obama, Senator McCain mentioned that Sen. Obama�s political campaign began in Bill Ayers�s home. Obama immediately denied it and McCain had no real follow-up.
     It was not this year�s political campaign that Obama began in Bill Ayers�s home but an earlier campaign for the Illinois state legislature. Barack Obama can match Bill Clinton in slickness at parsing words to evade accusations.
     That is one way to get to the White House. But slickness with words is not going to help a president deal with either domestic economic crises or the looming dangers of a nuclear Iran.
     People who think that talking points on this or that problem constitute �the real issues� that we should be talking about, instead of Obama�s track record, ignore a very fundamental fact about representative government.
     Representative government exists, in the first place, because we the voters cannot possibly have all the information necessary to make rational decisions on all the things that the government does. We cannot rule through polls or referendums. We must trust someone to represent us, especially as President of the United States.
     Once we recognize this basic fact of representative government, then the question of how trustworthy a candidate is becomes a more urgent question than any of the so-called �real issues.�
     A candidate who spends two decades promoting polarization and then runs as a healer and uniter, rather than a divider, forfeits all trust by that fact alone.
     If Ronald Reagan had attempted to run for president of the United States as a liberal, the media would have been all over him. His support for Barry Goldwater would have been in the headlines and in editorial denunciations across the country.
     No way would he have been able to get away with using soothing words to suggest that he and Barry Goldwater were like ships that passed in the night.
     If Barack Obama had run as what he has always been, rather than as what he has never been, then we could simply cast our votes based on whether or not we agree with what he has always stood for.
     Some people take solace from the fact that Senator Obama has verbally shifted position on some issues, like drilling for oil or gun control, since this is supposed to show that he is �pragmatic� rather than ideological.
     But political zigzags show no such moderation as some seem to assume. Lenin zigzagged and so did Hitler. Zigzags may show no more than that someone is playing the public for fools.
     Some people who see the fraud in what Obama is saying are amazed that others do not. But Obama knows what con men have long known, that their job is not to convince skeptics but to enable the gullible to continue to believe what they want to believe. He does that very well.�

     Right on, brother! Right on! It�s refreshing to see a black conservative who stands on principle and doesn�t support Obama just because of his dark pigment. I�m speaking of you, General Powell.

I remember way back when Bush and his people lied to the world about Saddam and uranium. They purposely leaked the story to the NYT, who made it public just before they all hit the Sunday talk show circuit so they could refer to their own leaked story in the NYT as part of their propaganda.

This is an old story. Ron Suskind has a book that just came out that describes this known practice and says in his book that Al Qaeda has known for some time now what the US is doing and that it hasn't been working very well for some time now and the US need to develop a new strategy. I'm guessing they already developed that new strategy and are already implementing it, rendering this a NON story. There is no doubt in my mind that the White House leaked this story to the NYT so they could then come back and smear the press. An added bonus is that the left and the right are now battling more than ever. That's what the *Uniter/Decider* likes to see happen. And, as usual, the dimwits of his base are buying it hook, line and sinker.

Below is what I talked about above regarding their leak and appearances on the talk shows.

On September 8, the Miller/Gordon story about the aluminum tubes appeared on page one of the New York Times. The information was attributed to unnamed administration sources. That same morning, Vice President Dick Cheney was interviewed by Tim Russert on NBC's Meet the Press. Cheney mentioned, vaguely at first, Saddam's efforts to acquire the equipment he needs to be able to enrich uranium to make the bombs. Russert, familiar with the Times story, prompted his guest: Aluminum tubes.

Cheney replied: Specifically aluminum tubes. There's a story in the New York Times this morning--this is--I don't--and I want to attribute the Times. I don't want to talk about, obviously, specific intelligence sources, but it's now public that, in fact, he has been seeking to acquire...the kind of tubes that are necessary to build a centrifuge.

When Bob Simon heard about this interview, he told me, he smelled a rat. You leak a story to the New York Times, he says, and the New York Times prints it, and then you go on the Sunday shows quoting the New York Times and corroborating your own information. You've got to hand it to them. That takes, as we say here in New York, chutzpah.

I think you are wrong about abortion going underground. Women would start going to Mexico or to whatever state abortions were available. But at least the woman still has a choice of an illegal abortion or carrying the child. The child NEVER gets a choice. In your world that is fair. In mine, it is not. That being said, I realistically do not believe that we will ever live in a country again where abortion is illegal nationwide. I do not believe it will happen. That does not mean I will not continue to speak out against it or work with organizations to give women a choice other than abortion. And if called upon to vote for or against...it will be against. That is why in a partial birth abortion they have to force a breech delivery, then pull back skin of neck, insert needle and suck the brain out, to collapse the skull, while the head is still inside the mother. So that the baby is dead when it is "delivered." If the head was out before that procedure, by law the child has been "born" and to kill it then would be murder. So, to be "legal," have to suck the brain out while the head still inside. Sick.

Going to war is not a unilateral decision. It requires a majority of Congress. Abortion requires a majority of one. Giving one human being total control and choice to take the life of another is morally wrong. Any other time that happens we call it murder without blinking an eye.

A North Kansas City couple has been left scratching their heads after they became the victims of a political scam

Steve and Rachel Larman say a strange credit card charge appeared on their statement this month ? a $2300 donation to Barack Obama?s presidential campaign. The Larman?s say they don?t want this to be about their political affiliation, but they say they?re not about to give the Obama campaign any help from their pocketbook

They said they notified Chase, their credit card bank, to report the fraud

?(They) said that they had seen-they were familiar with this,? said Steve Larman. ?It was fraud, they believe through telemarketing but they were going to be doing some more investigations.?
The Larman?s don?t want their politics to enter into what is essentially just a fraudulent charge. But they say that the charge involves the Obama campaign adds insult to injury for the registered Republicans

?They (Chase) kept on asking me ?are you sure you wouldnt have gone to a site in support of Obama?,? said Rachel Larman. ?And I repeatedly said ?Im voting for McCain - I would not be going to an Obama site?.?

Chase dropped the charge from the Larman?s card. The couple is thankful thay they caught the charge on the card, but worried that others may not see that type of fraud on their own credit cards before it?s too late.

It's not about what kind of job this guy can do, or how well he can lead the country. No it most certainly has not been! And I'm sick and tired of everyone making it out otherwise. It's always been about race and that's all its ever been about! I'm hopeful that anyone will be able to pull us out of this depression no matter what their color is or whether it be a man or woman. It's not going to be an easy job. But all through the campaign and to this day we kept hearing about how it's not about race. That was the line that this man from Illinois was trying to sell to us. He'd walk around and tell us he understands what we're going through, it's not about race. Then he'd talk about his grandmother being afraid of black me (uh, hello..I thought you said it wasn't about race). When he was elected my brother and his friends went out and celebrated in the streets because now we got a brother in there. He said to me, "you should be happy because we finally got a brother in the white house who is one of us". I asked him what does he mean "one of us", that's he's black like us so I should rejoicing and saying hallelulah thank you Jesus.

But this latest display of what he has planned for the innaugeration has got to be the most downright utter distasteful display of "flaunting" his race. Now at the inaugeration it's going to be a huge "Gone With the Winds" type of theme with ladies in their plantation dresses. I haven't read it yet, but I'm sure I'll be hearing about him dressing the blacks up like the what our ancestors were dressed when they were slaves. He has taken racism to a whole new level. This is disgusting and this is not what the men who founded this country had in mind. It took us years and years to get through the slavery issues and now here comes Mr. Obama bringing all that sh!t back up again and dividing people. I've got some friends who are white and nowhere in their history do they have any relatives who owned slaves, but now Mr. Obama is going to make all of them feel as though they are slave owners. I don't know what it is but why does America seem to get stuck and not be able to move forward. Instead of looking into the future he's dragging back up the plantation and slavery issues and making a big deal of them. I am just sick to death of coming on and reading how it's not about race when that's all that it is about. I voted for Mr. Obama because I like him. I didn't think he was qualified and he doesn't have the experience, but I'm willing to give a new unknown person a chance. Now he pulls this racial crap and it makes me ashamed to be black and more ashamed that I was conned into his lies and voted for him. (even the NAACP is criticizing this). It's not about race?????? Many U.S. citizens may not hold openly racist beliefs today, but they still may subconsciously link African Americans with apes because people still use words and metaphors that subtly reinforce a less-than-human bias and endorse violence against Blacks, according to a new study.

"Historical racist images and books dehumanizing African Americans in the 19th and early 20th century relied heavily on the Negro-ape metaphor, which was used to stereotype Blacks as lazy, dim and aggressive," said lead author Phillip Atiba Goff, assistant professor of psychology at Penn State. "Such dehumanization and animal imagery have been used for centuries to justify violence against many oppressed groups.

"The images have disappeared from popular culture and from most people's memory," he added. "However, after completing six studies, we found strong evidence that Black-ape linkages still influence people subconsciously and impact their judgment particularly in the case of African American suspects and defendants."

The study's findings are published in the paper, "Not Yet Human: Implicit Knowledge, Historical Dehumanization and Contemporary Consequences," in a recent issue (February) of Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, which is published by the American Psychological Association.

Goff and fellow researchers Jennifer Eberhardt, associate professor of psychology at Stanford University; Matthew C. Jackson and Melissa J. Williams, graduate students at Penn State and Berkeley, respectively, conducted six studies of college-age students. They found that participants � even those with no stated prejudices or knowledge of the historical images � were quicker to associate Blacks with apes than they were to associate Whites with apes.
