You may base that on the fact that right now it's about 50/50 Obama versus McCain. That doesn't mean that the liberal rags, liberal bloggers, MSNBC and the rest represent 50% of the people in our country. Fortunately for the rest of us, there are democrafts who don't agree with the views of the liberal rags, with the tactics of the liberal bloggers, and with the extreme bias of a "news" organization such as MSNBC. Most of the time when you can't document, it is because you are getting someone's OPINION, and not fact, and therefore, you cannot document.

By right-wing rags I mean publications and internet souces. the complaint was simply that you use these sources as the unassailable factual basis for your claims. My point, as well as several other posters in the past, was that you need to use less partisan sources for the "truths" that you post on this board.

I have a mixed daughter and she thanked me 1 time, saying "I have the best of both worlds." Perhaps he feels the same- it is not a put down of 1 side or the other- if you don’t understand now, you probably never will. It is the black that dominates as a color, not the white- therefore lots of mixed people go by the stronger of the 2 colors, has nothing to do with if they are pleased or trying to put down 1 side. I think this is such a trivial matter, myself. What in the world does it matter where he was born or where he lived? There are reports all over the media, both print and television, that Bush has known about this since at least Sunday. I find it very suspicious that it was suddenly revealed the day after Lieberman lost to Lamont and after all the White House cronies made their rounds and used the Connecticut primary to once again accuse Democrats of being soft on terror. (It should be noted that the Democrats are not soft on terror; they agree with wiretaps and other surveillance of suspected terrorists but they want it to be done within the boundaries of the LAW, something for which Bush the King has proven repeatedly he has no respect.)
I agree with Lurker that the only reason I can believe this is because it came from another government. We've had too many lies and cry wolf scare tactics from the Bush administration to believe anything he says. He has zero credibility, and fortunately, reasonable and intelligent Americans are waking up to that fact.

This is what is so funny. In Joe's eyes "taxes" are silly things. So, you see he's not worried at all about his taxes being raised IF he were to purchase a company. How will he ever purchase a company worth more than $250,000.00 with an "outstanding" bill?

Seriously, I just heard a little blip on our news that he is sending 2 people to represent him- so why not go himself? they send he is sending someone else so as to distance himself from the turmoil but have some representation there who can't actually do anything. That's what was said.

Actually, it was my understanding that both arenas represent the
"war on terrorism." So in a sense, they are both the same war, just different theaters.

We vote the people in who we find we agree with most of their ideas. Therefore, if this is what the government has voted for they have gone with the people's wishes. I know the people who don't agree with same sex marriage will never believe it, but it's the truth. Hence, the legislators who have voted for this are going with what the people of their state want.

These tea parties represent the people of the country
and how we feel. We are sick of the over-taxation. We are sick of the government not listening to us, spending like there's no tomorrow, and spending money they haven't even printed yet. Then on top of that we're being taxed more and more so they can send it oversees to other countries all while doing Jack sh!t for the Americans. What's next that people who work will not get paid anymore, 100% will go to taxes or maybe we'll get $8 a month (like Cuba) to make us feel like we're getting something for all the hard work we do. There's more to these tea parties than that. You think people's lives being ruined by what government is doing to us is funny? There are over a million people who are involving themselves in the tea parties. Government is supposed to be "for the people". It is not. They are for themselves and screw the people. The governors of each state need to recall these pieces of garbage they sent to DC, because they are no longer representing us (the people who voted for them), they are for themselves and they care less about us.

I heard a show yesterday that CNN and MSLSD are not participating in the tea parties. What better way to say "screw the American people and the country. We don't care what they have to say". However, you know that if there was a party where everyone in this country was excited and wanted to pay more in taxes and was for bigger government, etc. CNN and MSLSD would be the first to be reporting it.
MSLSD is so far off on what is really happening in this country I'd like to see them go off the air. Maddow, Olberman, Matthews, etc. They're all a bunch of whiny @ss punks who are throwing a tantrum because their station is losing millions of dollars because more people are turning to stations that will give them the truth, and are turning off CNN & MSLSD.

Half of America apparently still thinks so, a new poll finds, and experts see a raft of reasons why: a drumbeat of voices from talk radio to die-hard bloggers to the Oval Office, a surprise headline here or there, a rallying around a partisan flag, and a growing need for people, in their own minds, to justify the war in
Iraq.
People tend to become independent of reality in these circumstances, says opinion analyst Steven Kull.
The reality in this case is that after a 16-month, $900-million-plus investigation, the U.S. weapons hunters known as the Iraq Survey Group declared that Iraq had dismantled its chemical, biological and nuclear arms programs in 1991 under U.N. oversight. That finding in 2004 reaffirmed the work of U.N. inspectors who in 2002-03 found no trace of banned arsenals in Iraq.
Despite this, a Harris Poll released July 21 found that a full 50 percent of U.S. respondents — up from 36 percent last year — said they believe Iraq did have the forbidden arms when U.S. troops invaded in March 2003, an attack whose stated purpose was elimination of supposed WMD. Other polls also have found an enduring American faith in the WMD story.
I'm flabbergasted, said Michael Massing, a media critic whose writings dissected the largely unquestioning U.S. news reporting on the Bush administration's shaky WMD claims in 2002-03.
This finding just has to cause despair among those of us who hope for an informed public able to draw reasonable conclusions based on evidence, Massing said.

I don't choose what a woman does with her body. But I know what MY God says about it and it is wrong, plain and simple. Therefore I am against it being passed. I'm sorry if that offends you.
Only about 1% of abortions are performed due to rape. 1%. And there is proven psychological evidence that most women who keep the baby have been successfully treated and are able to see the baby for what he or she is: an innocent victim. You cannot blame the child for an act that someone else has committed, and you can't approve homicide of an unborn child to make sure another human's mental health is okay.
Outside of rape and incest, abortion is just an easy answer to an inconvenient accident. Just like everything else in this nation. Let's find the easy answer. No one wants to take responsibility anymore.
Pretty soon we'll be "aborting" the elderly because they aren't worth caring for anymore and are "inconvenient". What a sad world we live in nowadays.

His whole policy seems to be hide, deny, backtrack, CYA, deny some more, and confuse with a half-truths and misstatements that imply what he wants people to believe. When he gets called on it, they say we never said that. They didn't have to, they implied it until the cows came home. Everyone on this board should heed these very wise words, especially in this day and age of the internet. No one on line is who they seem. Behind the scenes, there are people in high and low places stirring the pot to make you believe the other party is not playing fair. I just wish we could stick to the facts and the issues concerning all of us instead of petty personal attacks by both sides, but that would be too much to ask as many people look at these boards to get their entertainment and direct our attention away from what is really important.

I know I just took an inhouse job that pays me half what I make at home -
I am getting desperate to ensure that I have at least some income. My home-based job line counts are so low lately and I know it is because people are staying home. I am the only money maker in the family and I have to do something.
I am in college to get a degree to get out of this education, but have at least 3 quarters more before I am employable, and then who knows if I will be able to find a job then or not; with the way things are looking, more than likely NOT...
I wonder how it is going to help/hurt the economy and the illegal alien problem - I mean, will it make them go home or will they just draw more benefits off our government? If they go home, does that hurt or or help us?
I am being serious here - not trying to start an argument - just doing some thinking.
