Of course he realized the mike was "hot." That is why he was whispering. He just didn't realize that it would pick it up anyway. Jesse is not the sharpest knife in the drawer...that is no secret.
That being said...out of context?? He said he wanted to "cut off his n__s" and made the slice motion with his hand. In or out of context, I would say that meaning was crystal clear. While I don't support Obama and don't care for the man, I stop short of castration.
I frankly don't know how you apologize for something like that and then say you support him....what a crock!! Jesse Jackson is a racist of the worst ilk, always has been, a few years ago it was Jews and now it is Barack Obama. Next week it will be somebody else, because he obviously cannot stop his mouth in drive when his brain is in neutral. He might think about a muzzle.
