Got news for you honey.... many of the people who did vote for him are now regretting it. I'm seeing more and more websites, news shows, and here on this board of people who said they voted for him but now knowing what he really is like (not his phony campaign promises) wish they hadn't voted for him. We're too busy working our back ends off because IF Obama wins we're going to be having to put in more hours to pay for the extra taxes we will have to pay. I figure an extra 25 hours a week might cover the extra taxes I will have to pay (and no I don't make over $250). My family will have to take a back stand and I will see them less. It was more of a statement (don't know the correct word to use - faceeshish? gosh, can't even spell it), I was making a joke of something we already knew about her. I've never trusted Condi or any of the Bush administration. I think they've been lying to everyone about everything all along and I don't think this is any different. Like the message below this said, they are starting to socialize our health system. They want the government to control it. I've watched many economist speak about this, along with a lot of politicians (not ones that are in DC, but individual ones from individual states) and they are saying the same thing. We cannot socialize our health care.
You will not have a choice as to what doctor you can go to, what treatment you'll be able to get or medication. The government will be in charge of that. They will decide what you will and will not get.
I think you probably know by now that Obama says one thing and does another. He will get up and give a good speech, but as soon as he is done speaking he does the opposite of what he says he will or will not do. Kind of like when he was in another country and said our dollar was strong as the dollar was tanking and other country leaders were snickering and laughing at him. Funny though cos Obama could say the sky is green and people would believe him and defend him for it.
We listened to someone talk (forget who it was right now), but they knew someone in Canada who needed a procedure and it was going to be a four month waiting period. They came to the US and had the procedure done the same or next day. I said to DH if they have their way and socialize our health care system I think Obama and other politicians who push this through should be told that they (or a family member of theirs) will have to wait 4 months for an MRI or other procedure to be done. See how they like it.
It's just a very very sad time for us all to see our country being deteriorated. I am understanding how Cuba and other socialist countries got that way. Sort of little by little then before you know it it's too late. It's the same way our landlords when we lived in Germany told us what happened to them leading up to WWII. It's just awful to see our country going the same way. They were promised everything and then look what happened to them. And history is repeating itself here in America.

Actually, I'm not sure you went to the wrong board at all. If you chose "Politics" in general and you saw the headline of the post and clicked on it, you automatically wind up there and don't necessarily realize that's where you're at. Even Nan and American Girl have done that, and I believe those errors of theirs is still on this page.
If this post of yours is an example of how you post, I can't understand why in the world you would be banned, but then again, I can't understand why three certain posters on that board get AREN'T banned, so I guess I just don't understand much about this place. I note that they kept Nan's post calling someone a "slimy bottom dweller," as well as all their other posts where they attack posters.
My personal opinion is that if you want to be free to think independently and express that opinion without being ganged up on and attacked, then maybe you should continue to post on this board. I personally am interested in what you have to say. Although I just visited the Conservative board, and for the first time in a long time, find it to be a peaceful place where people are starting to debate again without being attacked by those three. Unfortunately, I doubt that will last very long. They will be back if they aren't already, and whatever goodness is there now will be once again destroyed and people won't be allowed to express their opinions without being attacked.
Again, I can't even begin to understand why you've been banned in the past, and if your post is an example of what the monitor had to "put up with," by all means PLEASE keep posting because I think you're definitely a breath of fresh air! Welcome!!

I've been on this board probably for a couple months or so and I've seen your posts and I enjoy the articles you post and reading your opinions. I too get very tired of posting something and then getting bashed for it. A week or so ago I had made a determination to not post anymore because I was so tired of being bashed and being called a racist because I was not voting for the O. I too would like to have posters stick to issues and not bash. Post information and read it for what it's worth. If you don't like it move on. Thanks to other posters who asked me to stay on I have decided to because we all have the same rights. I'm with you though...stick to articles, information, and issues and let the bashing go.

I went to that letxa site. Nowhere could I find the author's name. It looks like an opinionated Republican blowhard's blog, and not one of any governmental authority.
That blogger believes Palin had that baby and he also doesn't seem to believe in global warming. Guess the world is still flat, too. I didn't bother to read any more of his blather when I couldn't find his name anywhere. It may be buried in there somewhere, but I couldn't find it. Perhaps you'll enlighten me?

Everybody is innocent until proven guilt for me. That's the American way. I'm not picking and choosing who suits me to be guilty or innocent. As for somebody's life being in jeopardy, that's isn't even mentioned in the indictment. In fact, it may be that the woman wasn't outed at all, being that she pushed paper at a desk and everybody and his cousin knew where she worked. I think this is either payback for the Ken Starr investigation or an attempt to park a dark cloud of suspicion over the White House, being that even with everything that is going wrong the polls show that 44% of the country would vote for a Democrat and 44% of the country would vote for a Republican if an election were held today. The Democrats have no solutions, so they try to discredit the Republicans so that they'll at least get a vote against the Reblicans to put them back in the White House.

You want to talk about something the candidates are doing or did fine, that's one thing. But leave the families alone. This goes for Michelle Obama as well as Bristol Palin and her boyfriend.
You don't get it, you really don't. Palin cannot control what her kids do. Yes you can preach anything you want all day long to your kids but in the end kids are going to do whatever they want to do. However in this case her "kid" is an adult and knows fully well what she was doing. I have an aunt and uncle who are extremely involved in their church (they have positions with the head of the church, and go to meeting 3 times a week and Sundays, etc). She goes around town recruiting and teaching abstinence to kids, etc. She sings holy praises of her daughter (17 years old) tells everyone how perfect she is, she follows the path of Jesus, she's responsible, etc, etc, etc. She keeps tabs on her very very very closely (on the cell phone with her every hour wanting to know where she is and what she is doing. Well guess who got pregnant. Miss high and mighty's daughter. I thought well there goes your shot of having the perfect family to display for the church. That was about a year ago. Since then they have had their problems. Do you think I'm sitting here rejoicing that they are going through their periods of grief. No, and its not cos they are relatives because a lot of family's I don't know from their church are facing the same thing and its sad to know what they are going through. I don't care how much disdain one has for someone, to get joy out of watching their families suffer is just really pitiful.
When someone who preaches on the wrong doings of having a relationship before getting married and then their own children end up pregnant (nothing that the parents can prevent), it really brings them back to reality and makes them realize that everyone is human, and I have heard Sara Palin say that in interviews given.
It still astounds me at the force of hatred that people still have for Sarah Palin. I just don't understand it at all. If people didn't like her policies that's one thing, there were those that didn't like Obama's policies either. But the utter disdain and hatred towards her pretty much wishing her dead (not you in particular but others), I just don't get it. I don't hate anyone that much, especially to see anyone in their family going through hard times and grief. But to get such absolute joy from this is just sick. It's the same kind of sickness that people who like to hurt animals will get from doing that.
When McCain and Palin were running for office, I didn't hear too much about the abstinence thing. What I did hear was their plans to help grow business, keep taxes low, and other things to grow the economy. I may have heard her mention teaching kids abstinence once or twice throughout the campaign but that was it. You make it sound like that's all she talked about and it wasn't.
BTW - I didn't know Bristol and her boyfriend/fiance were both living in Sarah's house, and particularly I don't care. I hope they find some happiness and I hope the media will one day leave them alone. Too many other problems going on in the country (i.e. unemployment, people losing homes, people's lives devastated by tornadoes and other natural disasters, people losing their retirements because of decisions WA is making (that is while the politicians in WA paycheck and retirement accounts are growing), thousands of people going hungry and suffering, etc, etc) and this is what people want to keep talking about. How fun and joyful it is that Bristol Palin is going through what she is going through and we should be happy about that because why? It affects Sara Palin and people would like to shove the knife in her back and twist is just a little bit more.

I think you're numbers are wrong. The top 5% of
the U.S. makes millions and billions. $200,000 is NOT the 'top 5%' of the country. It's definitely more than a single, head-of-household MT makes, but depending on where you live, it won't put you in that mansion on the hill, either.
When he talks about raising taxes on the top 5%, he's not talking about YOU. He's talking about people like Bill Gates. He's talking about huge corporations (like the oil industry, tobacco industry, HMO & insurance industries, etc.) that rake it in, and then have a jillion and a half loopholes and secret cubbyholes to stash it in.

It's those posters who try to be polite, those posters who understand and (God forbid) AGREE with JTBB who aren't welcome here.
What I usually come away with after reading one of JTBB's posts is an opinion with a very well thought-out opinion borne from a lot of research.
She's one of the fairest minded and intelligent people to post on this board, in my opinion, and for having that opinion, I'm sure the fire will be aimed in my direction for having the unmitigated gall to say something NICE about her, when only the most hateful insults towards JTBB are tolerated here.
P.S. to the person who demands how everyone communicates on this board: JTBB is being singled out by a person who is interested in discussion of issues and isn't interested in bashing, insulting and bullying. There are very few, if any, on this board who fit that profile.
They're doing to this board what they're trying to do
to the whole country. They're trying to take it over. They want to control which God you believe in, who you love and what you do with your body, be it regarding life or regarding death. If you don't voluntarily agree to turn your free will over to their control, they will hunt you down and nag you to death (since they can't do anything more violent on a message board). It's obvious they are sick, sick people and need major help.
But they ARE like watching a car wreck and are sometimes hard to ignore.
I've thought about it, and for me personally, the very best thing to do is ignore them and for 2 reasons:
1. Ignoring them and not reading their posts makes my visit on this board much more pleasant. I already know I'm not missing anything because there isn't one post on this entire board written by them that has contributed anything of value or intelligence.
2. If we all refuse to read and respond to their posts, they might give up and go find another board to terrorize. I doubt that, though, because they've taken over this board and simply don't have the CLASS to leave. They take pride in their bully on the playground mentality and are proud of their ignorant behavior. They will probably just continue to pat themselves on their backs on this board. The only thing that might startle them and cause them to stop is that the NUMBER of posts on the Liberal board are starting to increase heavily as a direct result of their posting. In the past, they've used the Liberal board's lower numbers to trash us for not being as interesting, when, in fact, the CON board must be pretty boring if they are always choosing to be HERE instead.
Like I said, I've decided that I'd like my visits here to be pleasant, so I'm just going to stop subjecting myself to their cesspools of attacks. They've proven their posts aren't worth wasting time reading, so I'm just going to stop and will feel much better as a result of stopping.

It was not Bush who sent the jobs overseas. The first Bush had a hand in starting it, but CLINTON expanded it to the crap we see today.
I live in a small community of garmet workers and shoe companies. All are gone now because of NAFTA. China bought the last shoe company (very well known for its quality shoes) in this area and promptly closed it a year later because they didn't want the competition for their cheap reproductions.
There are no jobs here and hasn't been any jobs here for the past 10 years. You wanna argue that point while I see all our workers collecting unemployment because now they are either too old or too poor to go to another county to get a job 30 miles away?
We have turned into a bedroom community for the people from NY, NJ, and Phila but that doesn't help the people who have worked hard all their lives to be pushed to the side because of NAFTA.
If the O gets in, it will definitely be worse. All you that work in a production job, banking job, etc. will not have a job. I would almost guarantee that within the next 4 years. If I'm wrong, okay. That would be great.
And, by the way, Ayers will not anser any questions the press asks, and he definitely should not be teaching our children in college.

I did not vote for him. I wish him well, but his choices as he is leading up to his inauguration do not bode well for our country on a whole, especially our children and grandchildren.
