.......hatred of Clinton, anything to do with Clinton. The mere mention of his name causes the bile to rise and the red mist to engulf them. They hate, hate, hate. They blame, blame, blame. It's what they do. There is no having conversations with them. They don't see reason. They don't see fairness. They see nothing but hate. I remember this very same venom directed at Clinton, for about 8 years.
I don't hate Bush. I hate what his administration has done to our country and I always say his administration because I do not believe his personal merits, whatever they are, are presidential. I believe Cheney, Rumsfeld and Rove, the unholy trinity, serve as president. I have said and continue to say, Bush is just not good enough to be president. Hundreds of thousands of Americans do not have what it takes to be the President of the United States and George W. Bush he is one of them.
Let ME clarify....
in the same league... that is generalization...like a baseball league, a football league...covers a large number of people. I see equal meaning a more one on one comparison. Frankly, I do not consider you and Lurker equal. I see rather large differences both in personality (at least the personality displayed here), way of expressing yourselves, etc. She comes from a different point of view, and she is nowhere near as angry or condescending in her posting. It is merely an observation on my part, an opinion, because I have been on the receiving end of a lot of posts from both of you. In my mind, there is a big difference. So now we can stop beating this dead horse, shall we? Neither you nor Lurker give a tinker's darn what I think of you, so what does it matter? I only said it in the first place because you have invoked her a few times to make a point. I will not do so again. My opinion is my own and will remain the same until I see something to change it...I will just refrain from posting it.

Here is one thing that I must clarify in your post. Obama didn't have his hand over his heart during the singing of the national anthem. He claims that during the pledge he does put his hand over his heart but was never taught to put his hand over his heart during the national anthem.

Just wanted to tell you, as I said in the personal email we shared earlier in the week, I really enjoy talking back and forth with you. It reminds me of an election a couple of years ago where my sister and I were sitting "across the aisle" from each other and it would get pretty heated up sometimes!
At least this time, I can still go to my mother's house and not leave mad, or stay behind while my sister leaves mad, and then have to hear the rest of the family complain about why we had to fight all the time...

I was reading both your posts so thought I'd reply in just one message.
I do have to say you are both living in past times. This is the 21st century.
I know what deviant means, but I don't agree with you thinking that loving another human being no matter what means you're deviant. And I certainly would not put two human beings that love each other in the same category as pornographers and people wanting to marry animals. I think that is about the cruelest thing one person can say about another. What's next, not allow people to marry if they have purple hair or tattoos on their faces, or how about multiple nose rings or a mohawk haircut. Where's it going to stop.
Once again you are following a book you believe in (bible). We all do not believe in that book. To base your believes on a book written by men who put in and kept out what they wanted to to control society...well I just don't buy it.
The truth is we do not know why some people are gay and others are not. I've heard scientist say they believe there is something in the genes and this is predispositioned before one is born but doesn't not come out right away. But again, like I say there is not enough evidence yet to know why some are and some are not.
As for affecting your life. Maybe we need to start teaching children about tolerance. Explain to them about gay couples and straight couples, and teach them to love their neighbors. Teach them not to ridicule people for the way they want to live their lives. I am glad we are seeing more and more on TV. People need to start being tolerant and learning to live in this century. Teach your kids and if they decide that that is the lifestyle they want to live when they are older then love them for who they are and not who you fear.
Your so eager to say you are right and they are wrong. All I know is one day when I meet my maker he will say, at least you had an open mind and loved everyone for who they were, and you tried to educate people. Thank you.

for letting us pay for your retreat. People are losing jobs, houses, etc. and they feel the need to go to a friggin spa. Times are tough and sometimes you have to break tradition to save money. Personally, I think both pubs and dems should have just stayed in D.C. and had a little group meeting or maybe a pitch in dinner.....pay for it themselves. The pubs retreat was paid for by lobbyists and the dems retreat was paid for by taxpayers while they bragged about not having lobbyists at the retreat. I don't care if Obama just showed up.......if government really cared about us, like they claim to, they would put any spa retreats on hold and SAVE SOME MONEY FOR ONCE INSTEAD OF SPENDING IT FOR CHRIST'S SAKE!

leans conservative. I don't care for either far left or far right. I think that there are nut jobs in both extremes.
There are many things that run through my head when I think of President Obama. To me, Obama is too far left for my taste.
Some things that we should do right away is get the heck out of the middle east. Use our troops in rotation to guard our border with Mexico. Honestly, if we would keep our nose out of the middle east's business, maybe they would just keep fighting amongst themselves and we would have less to worry about. I know that sounds horrible, but there has been fighting in that region since the beginning of time. No amount of money we spend is going to change that. We need to worry more about our problems at home including illegal immigrants. They are costing us WAY too much money per year.
I do not want big government. I do not feel that government should have to bail us out. I believe that government created this problem allowing bad loans to be given out to people who couldn't afford to pay them. However, I feel that these "programs" that Obama wants to enforce really won't help the middle class he professes to be looking out for. Bigger government and more government programs does nothing more than promote and reward irresponsibility and laziness. Our coutry cannot afford to continually bail banks, companies, and people out. We have no money. China won't even help us out any more....not that I really like the idea of getting money from China...but you get my point.
What I want is for government to stop handing out and stop spending money it doesn't have. Get rid of our tax code and have a flat tax for everyone. You pay more based on the more you earn. That way it closes loopholes for crooks so they don't have to pay their taxes or they "make a mistake" and don't pay their taxes.
I'm tired of packages filled with pork and I'm pointing fingers at both dems and pubs on this one as both parties are guilty. Get rid of the pork and the pet projects.
The idea of Obama wanting to do away with secret ballots in union votes....I totally disagree with. Why shouldn't they continue to be secret? Making that information known just gives unions the chance to bully people and that isn't looking out for employees like the unions claim to do.....even though it is proven that unionized states show less production and less job growth than states without unions.
Bigger government also scares me because obviously politicians are too crooked....how can we trust them to run everything in this country.
We also need to reform welfare. I was truly upset when I heard Obama wanted to get rid of the reform that Clinton had done on welfare. We need some regulations and limitations to our welfare system.
I do not have much hope in change. So far all I see are the same old cronies that were in Washington before. We have too many crooked politicians and too many people giving money to them in order to get them elected so they have a puppet in Washington to do their bidding.

do not agree with the war that we in any way do not honor our troops that are serving in the mid east. One has NOTHING to do with the other. Our soldiers are doing their duty for our country. I just do not believe that going to war was in anyones best interest. I also believe that injured and mentally scarred soldiers coming home should be given the best of care and their family's given every support by our government. Sadly, this is not the case most of the time. I hope you have a good support system and will pray for your husband to come home safely to you and his new baby son/daughter. God bless!

it is foolish to enlist in the military and think you won't be sent into war. They are full aware of this when they enlist. That is like taking a job as a baker and thinking that, at some point, you won't burn your hand on the hot stove.

You may not know this but unions have made wage concessions since the Reagan administration. I wonder, as an MT would YOU be willing to take a pay cut? Look on the company board at the posts about low wages, no response to resumes, no benefits and the list goes on and MTs are not unionized.

Washington Mutual was limiting or refusing withdrawals to depositors. I am not leaving my money in the bank, only enough to keep the account open. I do not want them making money off me. For every $1,000 you leave in the bank, they create $10,000 in credit, and debt is our biggest problem.

As to communism...there is no "authority" required for an opinion. Obama has been influenced by Marxists throughout his life...first Frank Marshall Davis, followed by the Marxist professors and students he said in his book he sought out....followed by Bill Ayers...that he taught and used the Saul Alinsky method community organizing..and on and on. The influence is there. Karl Marx said socialism was a start but it did not go far enough because it did not address redistribution of wealth. We know where Obama stands on redistribution of wealth. Everything he has been and everything he says tells me he thinks he can make it work and very well may attempt to in this country. They had a Marxist revolution in Russia. We see how that turned out. They had a Marxist revolution in Cuba. We see how that turned out. So far they are just socialist in Venezuela, but we see how that turned out. There will have to be no revolution here, because our new Prez and apparently 51% of the American people think it will work too. We may very well be the USSA...or worse, the UCSA. Taken over from within without having to fire a shot. THAT is what I meant about communism, and it is a far statement based on Obama's entire history from childhood into adulthood. I have no reason to think he is turning from that now. I will wait and see, of course. But just because he won does not mean I will change everything I want and believe overnight...just like I think he will not change everything he has thought and believed throughout his life. I think it is very naive to ignore that and think that he somehow has.
Again...this has nothing whatsoever to do with Bush. I don't care what Bush does; he's gone. What I care about is the man with the power for the next 4 years.

They teach outright hatred for Christians and Jews. One 11th grade class has textbooks that teach 'the day of judgement can't come until Jesus Christ returns to earth, breaks the cross, and converts everyone to Islam, and until Muslim starts attacking Jews.
There are many accredited Islamic schools that put world maps on the walls in their classrooms with Israel left out the map entirely. Islamic hate teaching is right here in this country. Ask yourself, if you can't judge a religion by this, the downright hate of Christians and Jews right in your own back yard, then what do you base anything on?
As they said, the next generation of Muslims coming of age in THIS country, not overseas, is being taught these things in the very country they will grow up and live. There is definitely no tolerance, freedom or patriotism being taught in these schools.
They are teaching hate, plain and simple. This has nothing to do with bad people in a good church; it has to do with schools who teach hate of anyone that is not Muslim.
These are schools right outside Washington DC. Everyone turns a blind eye to this "hate teaching" but Obama wants to sign a bill into law for "hate crimes"?

but it is not her job to seek taking books off shelves, period. And you don't know if this is "political crap" or not because the media has not been permitted to ask her any questions. Once voters get these answers, then they will have the necessary information with which to make a decision as to whether or not this is who we/they want in office. I, for one, am not going to skew her with a pitchfork or defend her as I have no information with which to do so, either way. I need answers to these questions that have been floating out there. Questions and answers are very important in our form of government called democracy which is for the people, of the people and by the people. Freedom comes with a gigantic amount of responsibility, is not to be taken lightly, and is very fragile.

I like the fact that Mccain chose her after only meeting her once or twice. If he had chosen someone he has known for 20 years or so or someone he is buddies with, everyone would have jumped on him for choosing a friend.
And please don't get on about how she talks, etc., (not just saying this to you gourdpainter, to everyone) how many people have actually looked past how she talks and what she has named her children to what her stance is on the issues?
You can make fun of her for saying seeing Russia from Alaska is foreign policy experience (she WAS joking!) but then Obama turned around and said there are 57 states... they all make gaffes.
I think that she is a strong woman and she has a good moral base. Yes, her daughter got pregnant, but really, did you all listen to your moms on everything? I know when I was a teenager I went to parties, drank, smoked, even though my mommy told me not too. You can tell your children everything, but believe me, they aren't going to listen to you! Not until they hit about 22 and go "oh crap, mom and dad WERE RIGHT!"
The fact that she brought her Down syndrome child into the world just shows how much love she has. It's nice to see her husband is so active in the raising of their children. I know quite a few dads who aren't. It goes to show she will have a good support group if she becomes VP.
As for her experience, we obviously need to throw the experience argument out this election since Biden and Mccain are about equal and Obama and Palin are about equal.
Also, everyone keeps talking about how they want change and don't want the same old politicians in the white house but then they want to harp on Palin and say "oh she was governor of Alaska, what does she know??" I think it would be refreshing to have someone that isn't from a big city and hasn't been in the Senate. I mean Biden has been there for what, ever? And so has Mccain. So maybe by having this "small town girl" to check him on some things will be good.
I think people just need to get off her case. Dems, if SNL was making fun of Obama every week, you would be furious, and a lot of people would claim racism, etc. I think it is sickening that ANY of our candidates have been reduced to a comedy routine in which they are portrayed in such a bad light. Regardless of what we think of them, our leaders need to be respected. If we can't respect them, then we need to vote them out.
I'm sorry, but if no one can admit that the liberal media has been very biased this election, they have been living under a rock. Even comedy shows, like SNL, Daily show, Colbert, etc have been very left sided. There is no longer any unbiased news. And then because maybe one or two sources go against the grain and lean right they are considered a poor source. That is totally unfair. We are supposed to believe everything the liberal news says, but not what the conservative news says? C'mon. You have to know by now when you watch the news NO MATTER WHO IS REPORTING you need to take it with a grain of salt!

At least Palin didn't say that the clothes were just in her closet like Obama said about Ayers just living in his neighborhood. I don't see where Palin has tried to hide anything and when it came out....she was honest about it. That is more than I can say for Mr. Obama who says he never heard Rev. Wright preach any message of hate in the 20 years he attended that church which is all I've ever heard out of Wright's mouth when he has been interviewed on TV.

What I see Palin as....
is an absolute insult to women in this country. She was simply put on the ticket to try to get Hillary supporters, and seemingly was okay with that. Women have worked just as hard as any other minority in this country for equality. Regardless of that, she ran on a ticket that did not support equal wages for equal work (check out McCain's record), was against choice when it came to abortion, would like to overturn R v Wade, and every time she opens her mouth ignorance abounds.
No, I don't want her to succeed because I would hate for any other country to think she is actually a portrayal of women in this country. She is an absolute joke.
