Sure it made sense Mrs. M..........
it just brings to light how ignorant a lot of his voters were and still are and the others just voted out of sheer fear of the economy and their jobs. Want to hear some of it for yourself?

Made sense?!?
Which part? The part where he supposedly quoted from the Preamble to the Constitution (when what he was actually quoting [and misquoting, I might add] the Declaration of Independence)?
The post made sense to me......just because
a man and woman may not be able to reproduce certainly doesn't mean God intended for those of the same sex to get together. The Bible also speaks to those who can't have children of their own. It does give you a place to go for comfort; the Bible never said every couple would be able to have children of their own. But it most certainly does speak AGAINST homosexuality.
You made plenty sense, Marmann.... sm
I hope you feel better soon!
This will be lost on you.....but common sense MADE
x
oops - one paragraph made NO sense of mine..sm
That's not to say that they are not entitled to feel what they feel and they are entitled to their opinions/voice..even though I just reread my post and it could be interpreted that way (and sorry for that) -
(above is the corrected paragraph - sorry *lol*)
Lots of them are nm

You know they will have lots to say. sm
After making all those concessions about those stupid tax cuts that the pubs wanted so badly (when it has been proven time and again they don't work), and then they didn't even vote for it. And I'll bet all the whining pubs on here sure won't turn down their checks when they come!! That tax cut money should have gone instead to creating and boosting those industries that could generate jobs!! They are all like vultures -- circling around and gleefully waiting for failure. I say they are no better than the terrorists they so rabidly fear!!
There are lots of people
who make loads of money, and why would you choose these two? If you are a Republican, there are rich ones. If you are a Democrat, there are rich ones.
lots of books on this - even old ones

No harm in trying....lots more not to.
you have nothing to fear from tighter gun control laws. Nobody but hunters are worried about hunters. By your logic, why incarcerate people? They'll just keep on committing crime anyway, so what's the point? Ridiculous.
lots of difference..........sm
Treatment for alcoholism, STDs, obesity, and all other medical "conditions" do not require the taking of a human life. Abortion does.
I had a cousin who had a baby born with hydrocephalus and that child lived for 6 years. It was a very hard delivery for Sherry and she knew that Scotty would never be able to sit up or talk or play or do anything else like other children. Yet there is no way she ever even considered abortion. Scotty was a beautiful child. Yes, he brought a lot of work into Sherry's life, but he brought a lot of joy as well.
Put lots of pepper on it will ya? LOL n/m
Why are lots of CEO, CFO's leaving
Medquist CFO quitting. Symantec CEO retiring. Yahoo CEO quit. There are some other companies too. Why? Because they already know how good they have it and decide to take what is left of the their money and run?
Lots of times...
because their behavior is DISGUSTING and that's what we teach our kids, to bash the behavior. Just like any other bad behavior. If you want to label yourself as a sick behavior then accept the consequences of being bashed.
Lots of cheap shots there.
Especially Reagan, but nothing new.
The Chickenhawk argument goes something like this: anyone who favors military action should not be taken seriously unless they themselves are willing to go and do the actual fighting. This particular piece of work is an anti-war crowd attempt to silence the debate by ruling that the other side is out of bounds for the duration. Like all ad hominem attacks, (argumentum ad hominem means “argument against the person”) it is an act of intellectual surrender. The person who employs an ad hominem attack is admitting they cannot win the debate on merit, and hope to chuck the entire thing out the window by attacking the messenger. This is a logical fallacy of the first order, because the messenger is not the message.
The messenger is not the message. That’s all you need to throw away the entire Chickenhawk response. But why stop there when this one is so much fun?
If you are ever see this charge again, you may want to reflect that person’s own logical reasoning in the following fashion: You may not talk about education unless you are willing to become a teacher. You may not discuss poverty unless you yourself are willing to go and form a homeless shelter. How dare you criticize Congress unless you are willing to go out and get elected yourself? Your opinion on a National Health Care System is negated out of hand since you are unwilling to get a medical degree and open a clinic. And as far as your opinions regarding the Democratic Underground or The Huffington Post are concerned, well, you can just keep them to yourself, mister, unless you can produce an advanced degree in Abnormal Psychology and Narcissistic Personality Disorder.
Using the internal reasoning behind the Chickenhawk argument means you cannot comment on, speak about or even hold an opinion on any subject that is not part of your paying day job. It is simple-minded and profoundly anti-democratic, which is why it so deeply appeals to those who sling it around the most.
But wait! There’s more!
If you accept the Chickenhawk argument – that only those actually willing to go and fight have a legitimate opinion on the subject of war – then that means that any decision to go to war must rest exclusively in the hands of the military. Is that what this person really wants? To abandon civilian control of the military? That’s the box they have trapped themselves in with this argument. Now to be perfectly honest, I think Robert Heinlein made a very compelling case for just this line of reasoning in Starship Troopers (the book, not the clueless projected travesty). Heinlein said that the only people who should be allowed to vote are those that have served in the military, since only they are willing to make the ultimate sacrifice on behalf of the state. I don’t agree with that. I think civilian control of the military has been one of the pillars of our nation’s success, and it has withstood the test of both World Wars and Civil ones. But that is the world you are stuck in when you toss that little Chickenhawk grenade.
Finally, if the only legitimate opinion on Iraq, say, is that held by the troops themselves, then they are overwhelmingly in favor of being there and finishing what they started. I recently received an e-mail from an Army major who is heading back for his fourth tour. The Chickenhawk argument, coming from an anti-war commentator, legitimizes only those voices that overwhelmingly contradict the anti-war argument.
Bill Whittle wrote that. He's a real live veteran and I happen to agree with him.
Have read lots about Obama -and know he is

Lots of people have, but Obama

POUNCING. ;-)
Well we own a gun, I think 9 mm, a stun gun, lots of knives - my husband's
a collector of knives, all kinds and yeah we're in BAMA, but terrorist don't want to go toe to toe with Americans, they're going to try to sneak us everytime.
That goes for New Yorkers too, they don't want to go toe to toe with them either. I despise Ann Coulter. She doesn't think when she talk. What ever comes up comes out. I think she is obnocious (sp) and has no respect for the left, and she gets as good as she gives from me.
She'd probably be the first chicken liver hiding under her desk.
Bravo to them. Lots of cancer in my family.
Great article. Thanks for posting it! I applaud them. Obviously early detection is key, and it makes sense that many people without insurance are not getting regular screenings done.
Lots of websites offering bankruptices for $599
My son-in-law emailed me this, and this is what I sent him in response:
Nuttin' made in the USA any more
(except for declarations of war).
Give it back to China so they can keep
sending us stuff to sell real cheap.
"Leaden" our kids and poison our pets,
and the rich get richer with no regrets!
I keep seeing websites offering bankruptices for $599. With no health insurance, mounting medical bills, a car repossession, dwindling income and a fatal disease, that may wind up being my way of "keeping it" in America. My preference would be to buy a $600 American-made car, maybe something like a 1983 Ford Escort, anything to get me from Point A to Point B safely.
Thanks, Mr. Bush.
Lots of folks DO hate her. Something underneath all the
gives lots of people the heebie-jeebies. "Got that born-again look", ya might say.
So, lots of people have tanning beds
If I lived in Alaska I'd have one too. Looking at the pics of her it doesn't look like she uses it in excess. My cousin has one and says it does not use a lot of energy (they told me this about 7 months ago).
So maybe you don't think she should have a microwave or toaster or even a coffee pot either.
Lots of questions remain about Obama.

Went to 3 stores today, lots of people
Store clerks state it is because of Obama. Some stores keep running out of ammunition to purchase. Then I found this link on CNN.

What is funny, I live in a very Democratic, Liberal state.
and you know lots of people DID NOT vote for him because he's black -

lots of autism in my family - but I'm not offended
So he made a bad joke, and apologized. Not like he was bashing the Special Olympics all over the map. But if you neeeed a reason to be mad at the guy, I guess you found what you wanted.
Lots of hidden references in that little attempt....sm
at comedy, at which he miserably failed. How wonderful does he think he is? And arrogant: I think they need to put a new page in the dictionary with his picture on it for arrogance! If he would get trying to get attention for himself and concentrate more on those JOBS HE PROMISED, I'm sure the country will be more appreciative and sure as heck a lot better off!
Lots of articles on Churchill and Henry Ford and sm
Jews and communism. It doesn't matter if the pillars were made of salt (of course, history tells us that they were eventually). It matters that historically this was what Hitler built his Reich on. This is indisuptable and absolute. Henry Ford's hatred for Jews was legendary, BECAUSE of communism.
Lots of confirmation of the talking points you mention.
Especially the inevitability of New Orleans. You can research the local papers and find articles that go back years. The funding to research and fix this has been the last 3 years W. has been in office. That is a fact. The Army Corps of Engineers chief quit in disgust over this issue some time ago and the former FEMA chairman was fired; the one who got things done, by the Bush administration..I don't know why. Our leadership is lacking. We need a leader. We need someone to step up to the plate and start the ball rolling; to date, doctors, nurses, entertainers, basketball players and ordinary everyday people with some necessary skills have been on the ground working in a haphazard manner because there is no leadership. Bush 41 and Clinton have started their tsunami crusade a la New Orleans and I have to tell you, the both of them sitting on my TV screen asking for money, were more believable, more compassionate than anything we have seen from the WH. A lot of defensive people up there. Why doesn't someone lead. As the mayor of New Orleans said, Washington sent one John Wayne guy down there and he is evidently kicking butt, getting things done. Where are the leaders???
Wow...good post. Lots of valid questions...
First and foremost...lower taxes equal better economy. We have to figure out a way to improve things without tax, tax, tax. I don't care WHO they tax. Fact is, over 90% of the total tax bill in this country is paid by the so-called rich. I am not in any way rich, but I think if they are bearing 90% of the burden already, that is enough. The government has to learn to live within its means. Sticking a windfall profits tax on oil companies when we are paying what we are paying at the pump is just nuts to me, but that is what Obama wants to do. And then redistribute that money to people (who did nothing to earn it) for whatever reason he wants to do it. Yes, people will have a little money to spend on gas, but gas will only go higher as a result of the tax...so I do not see a win there.
As to public education...my personal opinion is if they stopped building Taj Mahal schools (that look like the Pentagon) and spend more money on actually educating the children...less opulent buildings and paying teachers more...we would see better results. The state I live in has ridiculous property taxes which go directly into the school systems and yes we have school buildings that rival the best architecture around...but our graduate rate and testing scores is way down. You would think that would tell people something, wouldn't you? That maybe opulent buildings don't translate into a good education? I don't know what the answer to that is. Obviously writing letters and calling people does no good...have tried both.
As to socialized medicine...I think that would be a horror. For a multitude of reasons. We hve the best health care in the world, that's why leaders of other countries bring their families here to be treated. We have the premier schools and treatment facilities. How many foreign physicians are trained here? I think we all know the answer to that. They tried it in Massachusetts (state run health care), and while it was a good program on paper, it was doomed to fail. They are millions in the hole. The inevitable end of socialized medicine. When they can't meet the bills, taxes will have to go up or jobs will be lost, services will be cut...that is the way it goes and i would rather not sacrifice the quality of health care on the altar of getting it free.
I agree that there should be some regulation and oversight of insurance companies to get premiums into the real world, that's for sure. And whatever programs that remain to make sure children are insured need to be monitored for abuse. they don't need to institute programs that cannot be monitored. That makes no sense fiscally or any other way.
One thing I would like to see is a flat income tax. A straight across the board percentage with no deductions. No loopholes. No nothing. That way everyone pays the same percentage of their income, no matter what that income is. That is what I would like to see. The government would save millions in processing costs alone.
As to how do you know who is being sincere and who is just making campaign promises? They are both just making campaign promises. They will follow through on a few of them, most of them they won't. History tells you that. Politicians basically tell you what they think you want to hear. My take on it is the campaign promises that most closely follow what i want for the country, my family, that follows my value system, is the man/woman I am going to vote for. So if just a few of the things that are promised come to fruition, that is a good thing.
On the other hand, voting for someone who does not share my value system, is for things I think will be bad for the country...on the face of it...a no win there. No pluses to go there.
But that is just me.
You must be a selective reader...lots of facts posted by the right...nm
GP - I totally agree...I missed you LOTS; glad to
see you back. You should see some of the previous posts - talk about mean-spirited and, oh well..glad to see you back!
Lots of doom and gloom coming from Obama lately...
There have been lots of states who have elected candidates and wished they hadn't. sm
I, too, find the Viggo mortensen tie-in a little strange. I had to reread the entire thread and I only saw Hollywood, no one specific named, was there? Other than Willie and he isn't Hollywood. Anyhow, I don't like Dennis either. I can remember when he was all over the news going to do something about the gasoline prices and never heard another word out of him after he was elected. He's no different than most of them and no better than any of othem.
Mandatory evac all along Texas coast. I'm hearing lots.
I live in the path of Ike. Mandatory evac supposedly is starting around 10 a.m. I am trying to figure out whether I am staying home or hitting road. Whenever they come up for breath in the middle of lipstick on pigs and McCains preverted add long enough to actually name the mandatory evacation towns/cities, I'd appreciate a heads up.
I have lots of Christian friends who are democrats and support Obama. nm

I'll pass on the fries but I request lots of BBQ sauce.
My biggest fear is that our country will end up turning on Israel which would sure put us on the wrong side in the end times.....which I think are near.
What wishing? It'll probably be true. Lots of hangovers on Wednesday from all the partying.
Not wishing anything on anybody. However, I bet you felt real good after you thought that your one liner up, didn't ya. But that's what we've come to expect from you, so it wasn't really a shock.
O&B have more sense than that,
nm
But in the same sense
you are saying we should remove the law to not murder someone because every can make choices right or wrong?
I don't believe we should give free reign to abortion. The law he wants to sign can even make it where doctors cannot say no to doing an abortion because of the conscience clause. Therefore physicians who are against abortion because of their beliefs will be forced to perform abortions or lose their job. The FOCA is to broadly written.
I'm not fooling myself. They may not be moral, but they aren't voting for legislation that my faith says is against what God wants. Yes, God gave us free will, but he also gave us laws. I believe murder is murder. The Bible tells me that we are given life from the moment of conception, and therefore an abortion takes away that life, meaning it is murder.
I hope you didn't think I was questioning your beliefs btw, I wasn't. I was just stating how I look at the situation. My father-in-law is a Baptist preacher also. I used to be scared of the Baptist doctrine, but now I really appreciate it, because they preach straight from the Bible. My father-in-law won't even paraphrase! LOL
I see no sense in this.
Obama wants to take away our guns. If there are no guns, we won't shoot each other right? WRONG. Just because you take guns away from good people doesn't mean the bad people won't still get them. The honest folks who would abide by the rules would be at the mercy of the crooks who would obtain weapons illegally.
Ignorant people who do stupid things with guns gives the rest of us gun totting hillbillies a bad name and it isn't fair. No reason to take our guns away. We just want to protect ourselves and our family. If someone breaks into my house with the intent of harming myself or my family....I feel I should have a right to protect them. Why are criminals being protected instead? They are the ones doing wrong. Sometimes this country has things so backwards it isn't funny.
You are not by yourself in your sense of
renewal and having cause to rejoice. I had that sense immediately after the results came in and expecially the next morning. I live in a major US city where the change has actually been visible and palpable. The people here have been holding their heads up and making eye contact, greeting each another on the street, talking to one another and smiling a lot more. It's been great to see and to be a part of it.
Do not let the naysayers take that from you. Welcome to the politics board where you can take advantage of another great opportunity...to exercise, strengthen and hold your faith tight, and to develop a thick hide such that the gloom and doom expressed here will go in one ear and out the other and roll off you like water off a duck's back.
That's probably because this is what makes sense to you.
Perhaps you could be a translator for us?

If one were to measure progress on the number of suiciders, if that's your definition of success, I think it gives -- I think it will -- I think it obscures the steady, incremental march toward democracy we're seeing. In other words, it's very difficult -- you can have the most powerful army of the world -- ask the Israelis what it's like to try to stop suiciders. ...That's the -- but that's one of the main -- that's the main weapon of the enemy, the capacity to destroy innocent life with a suicider. ...Trying to stop suiciders -- which we're doing a pretty good job of on occasion -- is difficult to do. And what the Iraqis are going to have to eventually do is convince those who are conducting suiciders who are not inspired by al Qaeda, for example, to realize there's a peaceful tomorrow.
