It is definitely some form of prejudice! So if not racism...

To say someone's administration is a failure 3 months into a 48 month term is pre-judging. Prejudging is another word for prejudice.
No matter what kind of sanctimonious spin they want to put on their words, the bottom line is their are prejudiced.

you just went from one prejudice to another
you think it's people over 40 who have prejudiced? Interesting. I call that prejudice. I am over 40 and race does not matter to me, and I find it insulting that someone thinks because I'm over 40 I would be more inclined toward racial prejudice (or any other prejudice). My age has not stopped me from judging a person by their character and not their color OR THEIR AGE or any other criteria.
This has nothing to do with prejudice.
The fact that you use that every time someone opposes what Obama is doing is absolutely ridiculous in itself. I have seen very little out of Obama that is worthy of praise. I admit that he ran one he!! of a campaign and I admit that he did a good job in allowing the seals to take out those pirates and save that captain. I applaud him for overcoming racism and prejudice to become the first African-American president. Other than that....I don't see much to praise him for. He has ran our deficit much higher than Bush ever did in a much shorter time. He has taken over banks and now the auto industry. He goes all over the world apologizing and making us look pathetic and weak. He strong armed things with the Chrysler bankruptcy to allow unions to get much more than they deserved. On top of this....our government continues to spend money like we have stockpiles of it hidden somewhere even though we don't.
I think maybe you should take your blinders off and see our president for what he really is. A smooth talking liar who said anything and everything to get elected. He has the mainstream media in his pocket and constantly says one thing while he does another. Wake up and realize that this has nothing to do with prejudice. This is just an American disagreeing with what our government is doing and I have that right. So stop calling me racist just because I don't kiss Barry's butt like ya'll seem to do.
It has EVERYTHING to do with prejudice
I said NOTHING about racism, okay. But everything this man does or attempts to do is fodder for this board - just because of who he is. That is being prejudiced.
You can not say that you have given him a fair chance. It has only been 5 months since he was elected, yet you proclaim to know all about him.
Here's the deal about prejudice. sm
Prejudice is prejudice. I don't differentiate prejudice against overweight people any differently than I do prejudice for race. The left seems to be able to do that with no problem. Why, you would think they are all slender and well groomed. However, the presence in their midst of people like Ted Kennedy, Jerry Nadler, Barney Franks, Linda Ronstadt, etc., etc., would prove differently.
where are u pulling your prejudice from?
just wondering
Can we say extreme prejudice? (sm)
Now where have I heard that kind of sentiment before......hmmmm....oh, I know. It was Hitler. In your statement you have shown a complete disregard for life. In my opinion, anyone who would so enthusiastically support genocide, regardless of the circumstances, is simply disgusting and a waste of good air.
Prejudice: To pre-judge
without knowledge, based upon appearances.
Can't see how this has anything to do with how I feel about Obama. He has done and said quite enough for me to base an opinion on my knowledge of his actions. Find another word to sling around. Prejudice won't work. Neither will racism.
It's called prejudice, as in pre-judge.
except to say it is a real drag.
the definition of anti-semitism is prejudice against or hostility towards Jews. SM
The terms literal meaning may indeed include all semitic people, it is used exclusively to refer to hostility towards Jews which you have displayed here in living color.

Like women who are resistant to every form of BC
Before you start preaching to me about adoption, been there, done that. Easy for you to say from your ivory tower pulpit. Try it once of twice, like I did, and then come back and tell us all how right it is for "everyone concerned." Blinded to your own gender by right-wing dogma. Not exactly the perfect example to follow. Stay out of other people's business unless you know what you are talking about.

Come on now...are you saying that if the Obamas had a down's child and he was elected that Michelle should just stay in the white house and raise him and not do what the first ladies normally do? They travel, they give speeches, yada yada.
Palin's husband will be of help. It's not like she is going to be in DC, just she and Trig with no help whatsoever.
Yes, he is a down's baby, but he is perfectly healthy in every other way.
Yes. I also know that Buffet is a rare form of CEO.
Man of principle, to be sure. Drives you crazy, doesn't it?
Then why does your opinion always form on the left?????? (sm)
I doubt you really truly watch Fox News and Fox programs as you much as say you do. You are seem far too liberal to do so with any regularity. They are definitely middle and more towards left, than right, in their attempt to be fair and balanced.
Same goes for a lot of O'Reilly. Two left views for one right view.....
Really wish there was a real and true conservative network out there. Fox ain't it, anymore, honey.
Now Rush....ever listen to Rush? He's a true, blue righie, that's for sure. Nice to have someone with the guts these days to be consistently on the right of everything.
Wow, JTBB. You are in top form today.

Were you trying to say "IMITATION is the sincerest form of flattery", perhaps?
If so, it's one of those stupid bits of "common wisdom" that doesn't stand up to scrutiny. Go stand in front of the gorilla cage at the zoo and you'll see what I mean...unless, of course, you consider that the gorillas are flattering you.

Form email from John Kerry and my reply
...and my response. (Warning: It's lengthy.)
This is our moment of truth. You and I have to make it absolutely clear that we won't stand for Republican Swift Boat style attacks on Jack Murtha.
Yesterday, an extraordinary congressman, former Marine Drill Sergeant and decorated Vietnam veteran, spoke out on the war in Iraq. He didn't come to that moment lightly. He spoke his mind and spoke his heart out of love for his country and support for our troops. No sooner had the words left his lips than the vicious assault on his character and patriotism began.
Today, in a statement on the Senate floor, in interviews with the national media, and in this message to you, I am seeking out every opportunity to defend a brave American hero that the Republican attack machine has set their sights on.
I urge you to do the same. Whether you agree or disagree with Jack Murtha is irrelevant. These despicable attacks on Jack Murtha's patriotism and courage must be met with an enormous public outcry. Call your local talk radio show, write a letter to the editor, phone your members of Congress - join me in acting now to reject these Swift Boat style attacks on Jack Murtha.
It disgusts me that a bunch of guys who have never put on the uniform of their country have aimed their venom at a marine who served America heroically in Vietnam and has been serving heroically in Congress ever since. No matter what J.D. Hayworth says, there is no sterner stuff than the backbone and courage that defines Jack Murtha's character and conscience. Dennis Hastert -- the Speaker of the House who never served -- accused Jack Murtha of being a coward. Well let me tell you, Jack Murtha wasn't a coward when he put himself in harm's way for his country in Vietnam and earned two purple hearts -- he was a patriot then, and he is a patriot today. Jack Murtha's courage in combat earned him a Bronze Star, and his voice should be heard, not silenced by those who still today cut and run from the truth.
Instead of letting his cronies run their mouths, the President for once should stop his allies from doing to Jack Murtha what he set them loose to do to John McCain in South Carolina and Max Cleland in Georgia.
The President should finally find the courage to debate the real issue instead of destroying anyone who speaks truth to power as they see it. It's time for Americans to stand up, fight back, and make it clear it's unacceptable to do this to any leader of any party anywhere in our country.
I urge you to join today in a massive public outcry that rejects the attempt to demonize and destroy anyone who dares to disagree with George W. Bush's aimless stay for as long as it takes policy on Iraq.
Please act now. Call and email your elected officials. Flood talk radio with calls rejecting these vicious smear tactics. Send a letter to the editor.
Express your outrage about the tired old Rovian Swift Boat style attacks on Jack Murtha.
Sincerely, John Kerry
MY REPLY:
Dear Senator Kerry:
I absolutely agree with everything you wrote, and I have been posting my views on political message boards, as well as emailing Duncan Hunter, and I've written a four-page letter to Congressman Murtha himself.
Now I must address YOUR response to the attacks on Congressman Murtha.
I thank you for your defense of him; however, I felt it was very, VERY weak. (By the way, please pass this on to Senators Clinton and Reid so they might get a clue into what makes the majority of Americans tick).
For years now, Democrats, including yourself, have openly expressed their opposition to the Iraq war, but you haven't had one single idea to fix the problem, and when asked WHY you voted for it (before you voted against it), you all give some lame, limp, meaningless excuse.
NOW is the time to aggressively defend Congressman Murtha and his plan for leaving Iraq. Bush HAS NO PLAN. MURTHA DOES. It's really quite a simple concept.
Although I'm beginning to lose patience with you all, let's regroup and start over. Today is the first day of the rest of our lives.
I realize that most of you fell down on the job and didn't really scrutinize the Bush intelligence (this term is found in the dictionary under oxymoron and/or just plain old moron).
You were probably busy and didn't have time to read thousands of pages of documents. That's understandable. What's even more understandable is that as President of the United States, there's a preconceived notion that this person is, in fact, ethical and honorable. We now know that is not the case. We now know that he possibly took America to war on the blood of thousands of 9/11 victims simply to insure a successful Presidency. NOW is the time to admit that you, as well as every intelligent, thinking American and the entire WORLD, were FOOLED by this man because he was so blatant and aggressive in his pursuit of this war, it simply never occurred to any of you that you were dealing with a man who planned on attacking Iraq before he was even (s)elected President. (See http://www.tompaine.com/articles/20...went_to_war.php,)
NOW is the time to expose the true character and motives of this prior alcoholic who never received professional help for his addiction. He comes across as a simple man because he IS a simple man, in every sense of the word. His simplicity extends to the largest deficit in American history, and his tactics remind me of a teenager who recklessly maxes out Daddy's credit card because he has no responsibility for the bill, given that Daddy will pay it.
NOW is the time to embrace Congressman Murtha's plan, since it DOES make sense, reflects an actual THOUGHT PROCESS taking place, and is the thing that most Americans want. This man is not some 5-deferment draft dodger or Air National Guard absentee. He's a decorated Purple Heart recipient, who has devoted his entire life to helping the military and veterans.
NOW is the time to reveal an administration who would place the lives of a CIA agent in jeopardy and with everyone who ever worked with her, simply because her husband exposed the TRUTH.
NOW is the time to reveal the administration's press secretary's Plamerizing of John Murtha. NOW is the time to acknowledge that you truly have connected the dots, and the picture of a lying, unethical administration has emerged. If you do this NOW, most forward-thinking Americans will probably forgive you for now just catching up with everything they've known for months.
NOW is the time to publicly condemn Friday's histrionics of the House of Representatives. I, as a taxpayer, resent having to pay for that crap.
Sadly, you've pretty much already proven that you don't have many original ideas. NOW is the time to attach yourselves to John Murtha's coattails and hang on for dear life.
In case you haven't figured this out yet, you're up against an administration who will stop at NOTHING to transform this country into a theoracy, who will brag about the impending freedom for all Iraqis, while simultaneously slowly removing the freedoms of Americans, as his narrow-minded base pursues control over every single American regarding when we're born, who we love, which God we're allowed to worship, and when and how we die.
NOW is the time to expose the evangelical recruitment taking place in the Air Force in Colorado and the accompanying ridicule and persecution of soldiers who have different religious beliefs.
NOW is the time (albeit it four years LATE) to prove you care about the safety of Americans and aggressively pursue the security of our borders so that al Qaeda members cannot come into America from Mexico and KILL US.
Above all else, NOW IS THE TIME to reveal this President as the one who is truly aiding and abetting the enemy by providing them free, complimentary OTJ training in Iraq where they can hone their craft while killing our American soldiers.
NOW is the time to STOP being quiet and milquetoasty and to aggressively pursue this Administration's lies (I know they're numerous, ongoing, and difficult to keep track of) and reveal them for what they truly are.
MOST OF ALL, NOW is the time to honestly express what Congressman Murtha REALLY said when he outlined his plan to leave Iraq. It was a very thoughtful, sensible plan, and the fact that administration henchmen are maliciously mischaracterizing it should be revealed and aggressively FOUGHT.
If you truly foresee a future for your party, NOW is the time to embrace and advertise something the Administration doesn't have: A PLAN for Iraq. Although you might be able to win some elections by simply being the least worst party, is that really the future you envision for the Democratic party?
The ball is in your court. Don't let this one get away.... again.

Racism
Racism does not have to be whites not accepting blacks. It can also be blacks not accepting whites. And that does happen. I would not approve of anybody that was trying to be a leader of this great country siding with one or the other. They need to accept both blacks and whites. Obviously, Obama does not think that way. So what, if he was a teen when he wrote these books. They should never have been published if he does not agree with what is in them.
All this mess that is going on now did not start with George Bush. Congress controls this country, with the president having veto power. The Dems have been in power insofar as Congress goes for the last two years. But it started even before then.
Wake up, America! You think with all our news media announcing to the world what we are getting ready to do that if Iraq had WMD they would not have known what was going on over here and what our plans were and most likely would have moved the WMD to another country.
Now I know there isn't any racism in
.
Racism
Will racism play a major roll in this election? You betcha. However, you cannot say that people not voting for Obama are racist. Some of them are, but not all of them. How many Obama supporters are voting for him just because he is black? Probably a heck of a lot....so you have racism on both sides here.
Yesterday someone posted and used Barrack Obama's middle name and they were called racist for doing so. I do not see how this is racist. It is the man's name. How can someone be racist for calling him by his name?
I seriously am tired of people playing the race card. Yes, racism is out there and it will play a part in this election but that most definitely goes on both sides. You have your wacko people yelling "kill him" at a McCain rally. The media tried to say it happened again at a Palin rally, but that is untrue. It was only yelled during a McCain speech. That was wrong and crazy people like that are way out of line. They are also giving good people who are McCain supporters bad names. Then you have Obama's supporters. There are many good people who are on Obama's side and yet there are those crazy wack jobs on his side as well who are only voting for him because he IS black and most certainly will be screaming racism if Obama should lose.
Both sides are guilty of racism. Some are afraid of the crazy people yelling "kill him" and others are afraid of crazy Obama supporters rioting if he should lose. It goes both ways. So stop blaming one side or the other. They both have nut job racists. I'm just tired of hearing about this.
Racism
I can't help but wish that everyone making less than $50,000 a year who opposes Obama would take a few moments to sit quietly and really question him/herself about the racial question. If those folks were honest with themselves, really honest, I bet they'd be quite surprised. I can't think of any other reason why folks making $50,000 or less (much less) a year would support the Republicans, just simple racism.
Racism
And white folks haven't been raising their children to judge people by the color of their skin since, well, way back before Jim Crow--and DON'T get me started on Jim Crow. All thru my working life (40-plus years) I've been seeing sneaky racism in the legal and medical fields thru a white woman's eyes and, frankly, I'm thoroughly disgusted with those of us on the paler side of the makeup counter.
There is no racism in America, no way!
Al Sharpton doesn't have to look far for fuel...see the following story on racism in America.
On June 28 2007 a young black defendant Mychal Bell was found guilty of aggravated assault against a young white man by an all white jury despite conflicting testimony from witnesses.
His defense lawyer was incompetent at the very least and didn't even call the only adult to witness what happened to the stand. This man's testimony could have concievably blown the prosecuters case out of the water.
Originally the prosecuter tryed to charge Mychal and others with attempted murder for being involved in what was basically a fight and only backed off because of a worlwide public out cry. Learn more about the case from documents sent to me by Alan Bean, the founder of Friends of Justice a group dedicated to making sure all people are given a fair trial. You can read the documents by clicking the links below:
If you want a definition of racism...
read the creed for Obama's church...and read some of his pastor mentor's sermons...and some of the speeches and quotes of their friend Louis Farrakhan. That, my friend, is the very definition of racism. When you read the creed of the church, substitute the word "white" everywhere the word "black" is used and tell me it is not racist. We do NOT need a racist in the White House.
Racism is on both sides......not just one
xx
Racism....that is a bit of a stretch....
because vanilla is white? LOL. The point was that if you are preaching change, and you pick the guy who has been a senator for 30-some years and may not LIVE in DC but is certainly part of the DC establishment...that is not change, it is picking "vanilla" meaning generic, and Joe Biden is definitely a generic DC liberal. Definitely not a change from DC politics...which is exactly opposite from what Obama has been saying he wanted to do..get away from politics as usual in DC.
There is no racism in my tone......
I am just sick of nuts like him standing up there and making absolutely insane remarks, such as the "messiah" thing. And what is even worse, he has weak followers if they don't see this man for what he is. HE is a RACIST man. I have no problem calling him out on that one. He is racist, his comments are racist, and he loves to divide the races. If you don't like it, too bad. The facts aren't prety are they?
Nice racism, lis!
You should be ashamed of yourself!
I believe YOU were concerned about racism...
+
Of course racism is alive and well...sm
One explanation, and I know many people who did this....people wanted to be able to say that they voted in the first black man into the white house. And that is all well and good, but they did it only to be able to say they voted him in. Period.
Obama is long on style, short on substance....and extremely short on experience.
We've elected someone who's about to get on the job training.
I have not seen any racism here. You are making
nm
You seem to be an expert on racism.....
NN
It goes MANY ways. For example, I see racism
nm
Ah, yes. Racism. Now it's all because of color.
People were very lavish with their criticism of Bush as a 'cowboy' etc. He walked with a 'swagger'. He talked funny (said nucular). I guess these criticisms showed covert 'texism' ?
It does not matter how racism is born...
racism is racism. All whites did not enter into the slavery trade nor discrimination nor condone it, and if it had not been for some fed-up white Republicans like Abe Lincoln slavery would not have been abolished as quickly as it was. And if it had not been for some fed-up white Republicans shoving through the Right to Vote act in the 60's, oppression would certainly be worse still today. So I would be very careful about saying all whites oppressed anyone. And that is what racism is...condemning an entire "race" for perceived injustices or perceived inferiority. To the Nation of Islam, apparently to Obama's church, to Black panthers...there is no good white person. Exactly the way the old south was in reverse. Defend it if you like...it is still virulent racism and should not be condoned for ANY reason.
So, my friend, when you talk about quotas in jobs, quotas in scholarships, being put ahead not because of hard work or actually qualifying for something like a job or a scholarship, please don't whine about how blacks or minorities are oppressed. In today's culture it should strictly be on merit, not on the color of your skin, be that white, black, yellow, red or chartreuse.
And, frankly, your last sentence sounds pretty racist itself.
Really? I would hate to see your criteria for racism
See below:
As a young broadcaster in the 1970s, Limbaugh once told a black caller: "Take that bone out of your nose and call me back." A decade ago, after becoming nationally syndicated, he mused on the air: "Have you ever noticed how all composite pictures of wanted criminals resemble Jesse Jackson?"
In 1992, on his now-defunct TV show, Limbaugh expressed his ire when Spike Lee urged that black schoolchildren get off from school to see his film Malcolm X: "Spike, if you're going to do that, let's complete the education experience. You should tell them that they should loot the theater, and then blow it up on their way out."
In a similar vein, here is Limbaugh's mocking take on the NAACP, a group with a ninety-year commitment to nonviolence: "The NAACP should have riot rehearsal. They should get a liquor store and practice robberies."
When Carol Moseley-Braun (D-IL) was in the U.S. Senate, the first black woman ever elected to that body, Limbaugh would play the "Movin' On Up" theme song from TV's "Jeffersons" when he mentioned her. Limbaugh sometimes still uses mock dialect -- substituting "ax" for "ask"-- when discussing black leaders.
Such quotes and antics -- many compiled by Fairness & Accuracy In Reporting (FAIR) for our 1995 book -- offer a whiff of Limbaugh's racial sensibility. So does his claim that racism in America "is fueled primarily by the rantings and ravings" of people like Jesse Jackson. Or his ugly reference two years ago to the father of Madonna's first child, a Latino, as "a gang-member type guy" -- an individual with no gang background.
