You have no idea what my politics are. Do you know who Richard Cohen is? He is a very far left liberal columnist and he thought it was over the line. See, this is why no one, from anywhere, can have a discussion with people on this board. If someone doesn't agree with you, they are a *neocon* whatever the heck that is. Of course, disease is a choice and I know many doctors who believe the same way. We can prevent diabetes, heart disease, cancer and many other diseases simply by making changes in our diet and lifestyle. We may not realize the choices we made contributed to it, but nonetheless, we can be healthy if we work at it. Unborn babies have to rely on their mothers to stay healthy. None of us really know the damage we may do to our unborn by ingesting things we "consider to be healthy. I'll let you make your own deductions of what that may be instead of inciting you to anger, based on what this country perceives as "health food." I don't really care for the way you present yourself either but I wouldn't make a judgement call based on the way you do it. My baby sister died from CF in 1959. It is a lung disease. Now that I know much more than I did back then, I realize what may have caused her death and yes, my mother (bless her heart) unknowingly could have probably prevented it. There is more info now but most people simply refuse to believe it can be as simple as it seems. I do believe it.
Whoa - hold on - Don't shoot the messenger
As that saying goes "Don't shoot the messenger". I was just passing on an article I thought was interesting. I have no idea if it was from a conservative or liberal view point. If I find another article that goes opposite will be happy to pass that on too. I'm for neither and probably won't even vote this fall because I don't want to have the responsibility if the "bad one" is picked that I would have contributed. Just thought this point of view was interesting.

... is meant to do just that. Convince people that they don't need to know anything other than 'McCain=Bush.' But that's why you hear so little about the Global Poverty Act. It doesn't help Obama if you know all the details. Especially now, it may turn a lot of people off. We're grappling with our own financial crisis. Now is not the time to insist we shore up the economies of the entire Third World.
I hope everyone takes a deeper look into the actual policies of BOTH men. Not all 'change' is good change. I don't want to have anything to do with moving America toward socialism, where things like 'redistribution of wealth' such as the GPA proposes becomes a political priority.

The very least they need to do in the next 24 days is to try to stay on the same page with their candidate. After all, he has sent a clear signal that his own HUMANITY will not allow him to tolerate the dirt you guys are trying to shovel...especially in view of those lovely death threats that keep showing up at the Palin rallies. Change into what? I'm sorry, but the only change that we will see with Barrack Obama in office is a bigger government with enough power to take away our liberty. Yes, people have already lost their jobs and they will continue to lose their jobs especially if Obama raises taxes on businesses. This promise of change and you all assume that it is a change for the good. Obama has done nothing but step on people and use radical associations to boost his political career.
And you know what....I hope to God that I am wrong about Barrack Obama because if I'm not.....we, including you, will be singing a different tune about Barrack Obama and it won't be a song about how great he is....that is unless he makes us sing a song about how great he is.
As for the gun thing....this is a legit concern. It may not be one of yours, but don't give people crap when they feel that it is. Every dictator takes away the weapons from the people so they have nothing to use in their defense. Look throughout history. How many times has a dictator come into power and the people praised him and thought he was great until he flipped the switch and took total control of everything.

BTW, tax cuts, tax credits, progressive tax system is VERY American and not the least bit socialist. Letting tax cuts expire and tax rates return to their previous levels is hardly a radical policy. Rich folks have ALWAYS paid higher tax rates under the progressive tax order. Until that system is replaced, there is nothing unusual at all about the proposal to adjust the rate, or the candidate who is proposing to do it.
Run and hide if you like, but don't expect to pull the wool over anybody's eyes except the choir members whose votes are already in McC's pocket. This hypocrisy will not be escaping the undecided independents whose votes can make or break the pubs bid for the White House.

Here we go again - Rove's tactic of personal attacks on those who bring forth damaging information. Media matters states inaccuracies of the press on both sides. They back their statements up with proof and facts. You can argue they are "left" "right" "middle" or "ovoid" but they still present information and back it up with verifiable facts.

For him to do so (pardon Bin Laden), probably means nothing to anyone except "Bush" since Bin Laden has not been captured and is not a U.S. citizen. I don't put anything past Bush and nothing he does surprises me. I'm embarassed that I voted for him. After stating that he gets a "briefing" every day, on Larry King when asked, if we ever came close to capturing Bin Laden, his reply was "I don't know......I really don't know." First of all, you should know, and if you don't know, you don't say I don't know. You can discuss the gallant attempts by our military to capture him, the sacrifice they gave of themselves to capture him, etc. LAME DUCK -- BYE!!

From the information I found, a crime such as this committed on the high seas is a federal crime and yes, they can shoot all they want!! Unfortunately, it sounded like the Navy personnel were not on their toes when the captain jumped and therefore the pirates starting shooting warning shots at the captain, so since the Navy wasn't watching when he jumped and wasn't expecting it, they weren't prepared to take out the pirates in the lifeboat.
Maybe they're not taking their eyes off now!!

U.S. rules of engagement prevent the Americans using their vastly superior fighting power to engage the pirates if there is any danger to civilians.

It wouldn't matter what I posted here. You've already made up your mind that you hate me, and that's all there is to it. I could come in tomorrow and say I think Bush is the best president we've ever had, but you'd still attack me personally.
If you look at every single thread I have started here, I have never ONCE personally attacked a poster. I have always attacked an administration that is incompetent, dishonest and downright dangerous. The responses I have received have been attacks directed personally at me. Yet, when I respond in kind to those attacks, I'm crucified. If you're going to start the personal stuff, be prepared to get some of it right back at you.
If you disagree, why can't you discuss the reason you disagree? Why must you and the others always personally attack a poster? Must be because you simply can't defend your position, which is understandable.

Me too, GP......my dad taught me to shoot...
when the rifle recoil would still knock me on my little rear. I learned real quick to spread stance...lol. I was not and still am not a hunter...though my best friend is. To each his/her own...my brother and dad hunted. I can, however, defend myself and my property. And will...unless your guy is elected. I look for them to want to change gun laws. I know what he SAYS about it...I just don't believe him. :)

Do you guys really believe your own rhetoric in these postings, or is this just delusional, absurd thinking by otherwise intelligent people because Obama won, George is gone hallelujah, and McCain/Palin lost??? Don't get me wrong, I am sick of BOTH parties most of the time, like lying, spoiled children, I would love to see a truly Independent party take hold with a REAL candidate, but when you have to pick on Obama's musical tastes in order to make a point, that is showing DESPERATION.
