you can find a ton of videos posted by protestors. Warning: Many are very, very graphic. This and facebook is actually where the news stations are getting a lot of their coverage. Just type in, for example, "Iran June 25."

They "double speak" in the documents. Things like - "It is totally voluntary, everyone ages 18-25 WILL serve. This is something they are required to do as a citizen, total voluntary, and will make them better citizens". I may be off by one or two words but if you pull up youtube and type in Rahm Emanuel mandatory service there are a few different videos you can watch. It's also in the bills they passed. They are just calling it something different than the military because it's easier to hide it that way. Which by the way, once your child signs the papers and has had their basic training there is nothing that will stop them from being called to go fight in a war - after all "its their patriotic duty", oh and they shouldn't ever complain about it either.
I'll tell you, it's turning into a very scary country and I'm wondering if anyone in WA has a backbone anymore.
Need help with YouTube war protest arrest video
While researching war protests from yesterday, I came across this interesting article.

I tried to view this video through numerous direct and indirect links. I am able to get video, but no audio. It appears that Amy Goodman, investigative reporter, age 51, and her crew were arrested while trying to report of the RNC convention protests. Without sound, it looks like she was not in the middle of anything particularly dramatic. All I could see was street and building, no spectators. It looked like she tried to talk to the officers and they spontaneously started manhandling her, detaining, cuffing and ultimately arrested her. I am curious about the conversation that was going on but have been unable to find audio and video together.
Is there anyone else who has viewed this video WITH the audio. If so could you possibly post the link you used. I am asking because my computer does not seem to be having any problem with other audio on video clips. For anyone who is not deeply offended by news reporting of the war protest, I have included another link to an LA Times article about the arrest below.

and make it as slanted as they want. I will take my news and views from the regular new outlets, watch for myself on C-Span, etc., and even then I sometimes wonder who is pulling the strings. Until we realize and acknowledge what racism truly is (and I am not talking about Johnny Cochran and the "race card" to get OJ off), we will be a doomed race, we either all work together for the nation and PUT DOWN people who have these rad neck, ignorant views and DO NOT TOLERATE IT, or put a nice icing or coating on it....in the words of the great O, and Harry Truman before him, you can put lipstick on a pig, but it is still a pig, and you can call that editorial "comic" satire or whatever, but it is still racist garbage. IMHO
