hand over your heart while you pledge to the flag, why wouldn't you put your hand over your heart while singing or listening to the national anthem as we also stand and face the flag during it?  To me....it just goes hand in hand.  You take your hats off your head, put your hand on your heart, face the flag and either say the pledge to the flag, or listen and/or sing along with the national anthem.

To me this seems rather unpatriotic but this was how I was raised.  People who were not raised to do so wouldn't think much about it.  Once again...difference of opinion on this.  That is why I said....take it as you will.
