I understand your confusion. I would suggest that you look at both candidates....

and their stand on all the issues that are important to you, and please, exercise your right to vote, no matter which candidate you choose. And try not to get bound down in the gotcha politics, concentrate on the issues, and vote for the one that most closely follows what you want for your country.

I would like to clear up perhaps some confusion.....

About "socialized" medicine.  What most of you may not know is that we already have socialized medicine.  That is what Medicade and Medicare is (which is financially driven by insurance companies for insurance companies tell the government what they will pay.  In essense, the insurance companies are setting the bar).  Most countries have some sort of socialized medicine.  Canada has what is referred to as single-pay medicine, which is soley funded by the government.  Those opposed to single-pay medicine here in the US are the ones stating that it does not work.  However, those who have it in Canada and Britain for the most part are not complaining.  Of course, you can't please everyone.

For every $50,000 in income that you make about $10,000 of your tax dollars (equal to what is allocated for defense) is going toward healthcare.  Add that along with roughly the $10,000 dollars that most companies pay for your insurance, that's quite a chunk of change.  But you say, well the company is paying for it, not me.  But that is wrong as well, if the companies whom we work for did not have to provide medical insurance for us, there would be higher wages.

So, for someone like me, a healthy 40 something :o), who spends about $1000 dollars a year in preventative health maintenance, why am I paying $20,000, which I might add that for any catastrophic healthcare issue should occur, I would still be desitute from the financial responsibility of picking up where my insurance company falls short?  If this is not an argument for healthcare reform.....

Healthcare in the US is the hands of insurance companies, where I don't believe it should be.  So for those of you opposed to socialized or single-pay medicine, you are already paying for it, why not make it function better and pull it out of the hands of the fat-cat insurance companies?

God is not the author of confusion........ sm
so it would seem that you are the one speaking jibberish and lack credibility.
I apologize for the confusion.

Please see my other post in response to yours.

I wasn't asking to like it. I was saying it would have avoided confusion.
But again, you are just too violently angry to respond coherently.
I think a majority of the confusion comes from the way our media shapes the sm
information to us. The European coverage of world events shapes information differently to that seen by many in the viewing public of the US. I have relatives in Ireland who point this out to me all the time.

It's all about programming.
CNN is also broadcast as being a European affiliate, to the one we get here.

I posted another one showing George Galloway letting a Sky News journalist have it. I would love to see this guy have a round with O'Reilly or Hannity. They would not dare because he would wipe the floor with them.

Here's a page, showing news reports/interviews that you won't see on US TV.

Barbie's Web Site Promotes Gender Confusion

I (like most mothers) used to think my 4-year-old was the smartest kid on the planet.  But even I would have been very surprised if she could have navigated her way to the internet and completed a POLL.

This is pretty funny!

The iconic Barbie Doll has become another tool for promoting gender confusion among children. On the Barbie Web site, www.Barbie.com, there is a poll that asks children their age and sex. The age choices are 4-8, but as Bob Knight, Director of CWA’s Culture & Family Institute, notes children are given three options for their choice of gender. Click here to listen.

I no more understand it than I understand the extremely poor taste and blasphemous sm
post with pictures on the other board.  Are we clear now?
candidates
I think they will both be true in the future to who they are now (as well as they can be with having to work with Congress to get things done), but "what you see" depends on where you're looking and who's doing the talking.
Candidates

Why not let felons vote?  No different than providing amnesty to millions of illegals to get their vote, which is going to happen whether we like it or not.

Obama certainly talks the talk. I have a couple of problems with him.  One his pastor.  He might also consider running as an AMERICAN, not an African-American.  It matters not that he happens to be a black AMERICAN. Let's be done with racism on BOTH sides.  Sometimes I think the only way we, who happen to be Caucasian,  can ever satisfy the African-American community is to become slaves for a few hundred years.  Let it go already.  There is not one person alive today who ever was a slave or ever owned a slave.  Let's move on.

McCain.........while I honor his service to this country, if I hear about his POW years one more time I think I'll vomit.  I saw him on a talk show where he was asked about how many houses he owns and he immediately launched into his "years as a POW where he didn't even have a table much less a house".

God save this country, neither candidate is going to help Him.

Yes...too bad the candidates don't
talk to real Americans, not the CEOs, the Hollywood elite (why anyone take any political advice from a so-called movie star is beyond me) when cameras aren't around. Most candidates perceive us as being sheeple, say some pretty things and we will follow, no matter how high the cliff is you're brining us over. I don't care how many houses you own, what faith your father was, if you had an affair or if you wear a flag pin. Get to some frickin' issues when you debate each other, don't give us the run around and jab each other. Neither one of you are stellar candidates. You both have faults, you both have good points, but for cripe's sake, talk about something that matters to us!
candidates

instead of obama or mccain, any other candidates you may vote for?

May I suggest

you do some research either online or through your pubic library?  There is a wealth of information available.  In that way you can make an informed opinion rather than accept the word of strangers. From my readings, I find her to be an extraordinary woman with a life-long interest in public issues and desire to make the world a better place. That she met and married Bill was simply serendipity.

I suggest

considering people's actions during disasters, not what their speech writers tell them to say.  GW cared enough to fly over the disaster for a photo op and to attend a birthday party for McCain while people were drowning.

I suggest....
...you do some more research on these subjects. I would wager you may find that democrats are just as responsible for these topics you have outlined.
I can't believe you would suggest

that I DROP the flag pin.  That is the symbol of this country.  That is more important than fact, keeping the symbol.  You are suggesting the same as stepping on a flag.  People here will want to imprisoned for that.

May I suggest
if you're looking for info on John McCain, research JOHN MCCAIN not Obama.  You know, posts like this probably does your Republican candidate  more harm than good.
Well then, I would suggest you get
yourself elected President and change it!!
So, exactly what would you suggest...(sm)

we do in order to get the economy back on its feet?  Nothing?  W has shown us what nothing will do.  We could let the pubs handle it, but Paulson has shown us what they would do with it (give handouts to the wealthy).  We could sit back and wait for that ever famous trickle down effect, but I have yet to see a trickle.

So, please enlighten us as to what exactly you think should be done.  I assume you have a better idea since you are so opposed to the one at hand.

I suggest

you and I think on different levels.  The Nazi drivel, I won't stoop to comment on.  I am saying that there are standards of society to be met in accepting a visitor into one's home or one's television program.  We could say that a drunken bum has the "right" to be on any television program, however they are not usually invited as they really have nothing to say that deserves national exposure and they are offensive verbally and physically.  Too esoteric, I know.  Do you also feel this strongly about the "right" of Andrew Dice Clay to be on network programming?

What do you suggest then?
You guys can certainly bash every idea that the new administration comes up with.

If the Republicans had such good ideas we would not be in the mess we are today.
I suggest..........
you ingest a handful of pills or succumb to a bullet so you don't have to endure such dire predictions. The neocons were a cancer on this country and hopefully this stimulus has enough chemo to beat back the damage of the last 8 years.
So what do you suggest? That he do nothing?
Give me a break. You can't wait to feed on his bones, can you? It must be KILLING you that he is succeeding!!
I hope each one of these candidates
wins!  They've been there, done that, and in my opinion, should have the strongest voices.  I just hope it isn't too late for this country by next election day!
then again, they ALL scare me - all the candidates

Presidential candidates

I think MTs should run the country!!!

Candidates cars
This was fun to read

http://www.newsweek.com/id/160091
Do either of the candidates have a plan
for this financial crisis that does not involve the taxpayers bailing out the US?
Independent candidates have to
have at least 15% in opinion polls in order to participate in the presidential debates.  Right now....the only candidates eligible to participate in the debate are, of course, McCain and Obama.  To me....that says that no independent has enough backing to do any good except for take votes from the other two.  There is nothing wrong with voting for an independent though.  If you feel Ron Paul is a better candidate, you have the right to vote for him.  However, some say it would be throwing your vote away since the likelihood of him actually win is slim.  You never know though.  Do what you feel is best and go with your gut.  If you truly believe in Ron Paul, vote for him.  No one can knock you for that.
If one of the candidates was not Obama I would be...
tempted. However, in my view, it is way too important for the future of this country to doa protest vote. same reason I am voting a straight republican ticket. The thought of Obama as president and a majority in congress...makes it way too important for a protest vote this cycle...at least for me.
Here are some other parties and their candidates.

The Libertarian Party has nominated former Congressman Bob Barr, the Constitution Party has nominated pastor and radio talk show host Chuck Baldwin, and the Green Party has nominated former Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney. Ralph Nader declined to seek the Green Party nomination and is running as an independent candidate.  That is in addition to the Ron Paul fans as well as McCain and Obama.

What did we get out of the debate last night?  That same ole crap Obama and McCain have been throwing around since the get go.  Imagine what that would be like with all these other people thrown in the debate as well.

They only cover 2 candidates because
we don't demand that they do otherwise.  Power to the people!!!!
I wish there was a rule that the candidates HAVE TO
avoid them and go off in a direction of their own choosing. Especially when it's something they already said before. This second debate had me yawning.
here are a few if my candidates lose -
1. Get up Wed. AM, after election, turn on TV. See my faves didn't win. My reaction: 'Oh, cr@p!'

2. my actions: Eat cereal and drink coffee.

3. Where to go from thERE?
BACK TO BED!

4. What will I flee? My low-paying MT job, which most likely will never get any better.
Now I know how the candidates feel!
Say one thing and everyone wants to dissect your every move! LOL

sbMT for President! who wants to be my running mate???

HAHA J/K
Then I would suggest that we refrain

from reading/responding to each other's posts.  Adding you to my growing list of those who are simply not worth the click of the mouse.

Have a lovely day.

You're not the first to suggest it

Sam should know better by now.  Frankly, I don't know why she wastes her time on the, Red Diaper Doper Babies, anyway.

That is also interesting...I would also suggest getting rid of...
the RNC and the DNC. Let the candidates raise their own money and give us THEIR message, not the message of the "committee." Why let a few of the extreme left and extreme right make our choices for us?
The only thing I can suggest
Is take some time to read the Bible. Give yourself just half an hour a day to read. A lot of answers can be found in there. And find a nice small church where you can meet with supportive Christians if you feel comfortable. The first three churches I ever went to I hated, but I finally have one I can call home. We don't have anymore than 50 people, but we all get along and care for each other and help each other out. To me it is what church should be. No frills, just good old fashioned fellowship!

Good luck! Feel free to keep in touch if you ever need encouragement!
I would like to suggest a book.....
"People of the Lie" by M. Scott Peck, MD - excellent book and he makes reference to several other books that are good reads. This book is about the true meaning of evil - from a scientific perspective. It is not about "possession" but he participated in a few exorcisms performed by many people of different faiths, he said (and don't quote me) that the basic requirement was just that the participants love the afflicted enough to want to help them. He states that "possession" is extremely rare, but he witnessed it up close and personal when the patient was thought to be mentally ill. I have owned this book for years and every time I lend out my copy and don't get it back, another one presents itself at a yard sale, library book sale, whatever.
It did not suggest to you that she felt...
"separation to avoid assimilation" was a good thing? That is segregation, and when practiced by whites against blacks, was viewed as racist. And it does not support what her husband said he is about: "There is no black america, there is no white america, there is only america." That thesis is the polar opposite of that line of thought...and brings to mind her comment about "we have a hole in our soul" talking about America.

Sorry...I believe she has an agenda shared by her husband and they want the white house as a bully pulpit to further their personal agenda. Still, that is only a secondary concern. My first concern is he is a far left radical socialist and wants this country to go the way of Cuba (only he thinks it will work here. Didn't in Cuba, didn't in Venezuela...hasn't anywhere it has been tried). I strongly disagree and will not vote for someone who believes that and fully intends to put it into practice.
Then may I suggest you educate yourself and
xx
How arrogant to suggest she should go elsewhere.
His/her opinions are just as good as your's.
I would suggest Phoenix. n/m
x
Oh, so clever. And I suggest
Obama's designation for the next four years be 'hopenchangeit.'
Wha do you suggest Obama should have done?
Declare WAR ON IRAN ?

As much as the US disagrees with the outcome of this election fraud, it has no right to undertake any actions against Iran, at this point.

You suffer from delusions.

Anyone interested in the candidates houses? SM

On the www.apartmentherapy website, they feature the candidates homes.  I love that site.  Anway...spoiler alert, if anyone cares.

What I found interesting is Mitt Romney lives in a comptemporary home on the water, which is pictured next to Barack Obama's conservative georgian style home.

OK, not of vital interest, I just love looking at homes.

Scary that you would support either of those candidates.
p
and now they've found out all 3 candidates'
Reminds me a lot of LA hospital employees getting fired for snooping in Britney Spears' medical records. I don't know what exactly there is to snoop in passport records, but it's still a privacy breach.
Differences in Wives of the candidates...

So I have only seen Michelle and Cindy speak few times.

However I have noticed something that sticks out to me tremendously, and this was the attitude of the two.

Last night Cindy was calm, sweet, and caring.

Michele seems hard, negative, and loud.

Obviously I am a Republican, but I pride myself on trying to be objective.  Do we see these things differently or is this agreed upon?  Cindy definitely seems like a weak little doe, and Michele a tough ox.

I'm not saying either is worse, just something I observed.

Polls promising for both candidates

I have a great idea! I think the candidates should be...sm
hooked up to lie detectors during the debates.  Wouldn't that be interesting?
