what I object to, again, is helping people who don't/won't help themselves. We all know people who are scamming the system. Why should DH and I be penalized for making a good living? We pay our fair share and then some, and O wants, in his own words, to spread the wealth around (socialism) to help those who are coming up behind us. Let those people do it like we did, with hard work and determination. Why should they benefit from our hard work? That makes no sense to me whatsoever. O's way will make for a society with no ambition; why work hard when someone else will do it for you and you can reap the benefits?

have you/DH helped anyone less fortunate?

So your idea of helping the less fortunate is
to give them freebies all their life so they don't have to do anything to earn it, thereby encouraging them to do nothing else, have no motivation, and just depend on the government? I think we have enough of those as it is.
Too bad I don't hear Obama saying get yourselves up, get yourself educated, and go make a life for yourselves!!!
Proof to me he likes to keep them dumb and uneducated so he can be "their leader".
In a civilized society government does the less fortunate
sorry if you would prefer to live in an uncivilized country
