While I agree that Bill C. caught flack you have to remember it was for things he lied about and then was proven to have done such as getting a BJ in the chambers of the oval office and then committing the documented crime of perjury by lying about it. If it is solidly proven by investigation that GWB has lied to the country under oath I will raise my white flag and cry uncle, and then all this hatred and uproar will be just. The far left, and I include GT in that group, has gone off the deep end with all this unsubstantiated speculation about this war and GWB. I do not believe Cindy Sheehan is truly honoring the memory of her son by doing what she's done. While she has every right to do it does not mean it is the correct interpretation about how the majority of this country feels nor is it what her son wanted his legacy to be. From the statements of Casey Sheehan his thoughts about this war were entirely different from his Mom's and in large part of the rest of the Sheehan family.

If a suitcase nuke showed up here and was traced back to Saddam you'd be saying look, there was all that evidence and intelligence from countries all over the world and Bush ignored it and didn't depose Saddam. He really can't win. So he was bold and made a move. More than some presidents would do, lest they find themselves down in the polls (which at times seems more important to some people than doing the right thing). Maybe if Clinton had been a little more proactive during the 90s, while Al-Qaeda was growing and continually ratcheting up their attacks, 9/11 could have been averted. Who knows.

He tried his best to trap her. She didn't bite. I just wish we could have a nonpartisan person interview McCain, Palin, Obama, and Biden, just ask a simple question not meant to trap and let the person answer it...and not badger them when they don't like the answer trying to get the answer the interviewer wants. Sigh.

I thought that's how they knew who it was. I guess I recall the events surrounding 9/11 a little differently. Second off, I agree there's a good possibility he's already dead, but even so, let's be certain. Also, he's surely designated followers to carry out any other plans he had, so dead or not, we need to keep searching and hopefully take down as many of his right-hand men as possible along the way. Finally, OBL is already on the FBI Most Wanted list for murder for the 1998 bombings and as suspect in many others.

It's true. When my husband worked for Mediacom Cable the people in the government housing would have the cable in their son's or daughter's names (some of them were 5 years old). Others buy cars either with cash from under the table or through a relative or friend so it is not listed as income or assets. There is no stereo type in that. White people, black people, hispanic people, they all do it.
I walked into the home of a child that I teach at youth group last week to bring some food. His mother doesn't work, no idea where his father is, but there is a huge flat screen tv in their single wide trailer! Talk about mixed up priorities. Can't wash clothes because the washer doesn't work, but we sure as heck can watch ESPN!
That's the problem with welfare. There are so many people on it we can't possibly keep enough caseworkers to check up on them! Instead of starting new programs on top of this one, why not create some jobs by hiring more caseworkers and investigating why these people are on welfare for 5, 10, even 15 years? What is keeping them from working? Is it legitimate, or is it like the white guy that used to live next door to me "I got a messed up ankle" yet he's out in the road playing street football. See, no stereotype, there are deadbeats everywhere, of all colors, shapes, and sizes! :)

I would have stated who and what they are debating. Kerry was furious. Sen. Sessions (R-AL) doesn't seem to want to work with anyone on "the other side" either.
Sen. John Ensign (R-Nevada) had a really good speech. He went through the whys and why nots of how this whole mess started. He is willing to work with the other side but he stated that the other side has to work with them, too, which so far, is not happening. He stated that the stimulus package was pushed through the house without any debate, without anyone seeing exactly what was in it, and it was the wrong thing to do. He doesn't care that O wants this passed by President's day. It has to be worked out slowly so they don't make the same kind of mistakes that they did with the last stimulus package.
It's not just tax cuts the pubs want. They want some of the spending in there, too, just not the most ridiculous items. They want the infrastructure in but not just 3% of the total package spread out over 4 years. It wouldn't make much of a difference.
Now, on another subject, I had MSNBC on another TV. Surprisingly, they were only allowing sound for the debate when the democrats are speaking. Hmmm.

My BF cannot do anything he knows how to do because it is all physical work and he has so many limitations imposed on him by the doctor; however, social security said that there were jobs he was capable of doing and will not give him benefits.

For starters, Obama did not dismiss these charges, Susan Crawford, described as a TOP LEGAL AUTHORITY for military trials did. Obama orders were to simply FREEZE the court proceedings (hello) PENDING the results of ongoing reviews of Gitmo operations.
Crawford's dedcision seems perfectly appropriate to me since dismissing the charges (ahem) WITHOUT PREJUDICE means he can be charged again once the results of the reviews are in, ESPECIALLY in light of the fact that Abd Al-Rahim will remain in custody.

When I bought my house it took MONTHS to prove my income, the down payment had to sit in my banking account for months, the bank found an old unpaid hospital bill (I was unaware of) that was 10 years old that I had to prove I had insurance at the time and either the hospital screwed up or the insurance company never paid - I almost did not get the loan because of this! So, how do all of these unqualified people, irresponsible people, get home loans when they are so woefully unqualified? Because the lenders didn't give a rats whether or not the person could pay it back. They were boxing these loans together and selling them as securities. Did YOU ever buy a house? Did YOU have to jump through hoops? I sure did and I still have the house. So smoke that!
