I just don't get it

I'm having a problem understanding the opposition to Obama's agenda.  I totally understand and am concerned with the spending he is proposing, but his primary and PRIMAL concern is for Americans.

So much has been neglected for the last 8 years.  Obama is trying, and may be an impossible feat, to bring us up to speed on things that should have been AT LEAST maintained instead of snuffed out.

Our earth is dying.  Okay, it snowed in New Orleans...no global warming says one Republican... wonder what the polar bears who are suffering might say about that... oh...but they can't talk.

Drill baby drill!!  I just wonder where we'd be now if Regan had not been in denial about oil/energy, left the solar panels on the White House (Jimmy Carter put them there), and had explored other options...

I'm just having trouble grasping the opposition to trying to make things better for Americans.  Obama has no hidden agenda that I can see.  No interests in oil companies, etc.

And He is trying, as naive as it may seem, to make genuine peace in a reasonable way with our enemies instead of resort to waging war.

I can't help but think back to the JFK years when he went against the war mongers and ultimately prevented a nuclear war.

Why does it have to be where someone who has all the right intentions at heart, be attacked in the way he has?  It's not like he says his way is the right way.  I can see he does have a bit of an ego, but I think that ego needs to be fed with the help and approval of his adversaries and he does seek and welcome that input as long as it makes a little sense.

As I said in my post below, and I know I did point the finger, but in order to repair a home that has been neglected, stuff needs to be done, money needs to be spent.  No guarantee it's going to pay off, but I really don't see much of a choice.  But again, I do have to point the finger.  We had a surplus before GW.  Wonder where we'd be if that money was spent on alternative energy instead of waging a war based on false pretenses.

Please don't think I'm blind to ecomonic terrorism, but I'm hoping checks and balances will be less knee-jerk than they were with Iraq.
