Obama is the one making promises he cannot keep. Obama is the one connected to people and organizations like Rasheed Khalidi, Bill Ayers, Rev Wright, Rev Flager, Farrakhan, ACORN, Rezko. You people are so consumed by this promise of change that you can't see what is right in front of you.....a man who is lying and telling you what you want to hear just to get elected into the White House.

I will give Obama credit where credit is due. Obama is an excellent speech giver with a teleprompter. He is great when no one is there to question him. When he can just spout out his usual rhetoric without actually answering any questions....Obama is top notch. I think Obama's infomercial was a smart move. He did a great job so I've heard. It saddens me that people are going to take the word of any candidate without doing fact checking. Obama is a liar. He is telling us what we want to hear and is misleading us.

If you want change, you will get it with him but it won't be the change he promised. False hope, broken promises....that is the real Barrack Obama.

Bush could seize absolute control of U.S. government

President George W. Bush has signed executive orders giving him sole authority to impose martial law, suspend habeas corpus and ignore the Posse Comitatus Act that prohibits deployment of U.S. troops on American streets. This would give him absolute dictatorial power over the government with no checks and balances.

Bush discussed imposing martial law on American streets in the aftermath of the 9/11 terrorist attacks by activating �national security initiatives� put in place by Ronald Reagan during the 1980s.

These �national security initiatives, hatched in 1982 by controversial Marine Colonel Oliver North, later one of the key players in the Iran-Contra Scandal, charged the Federal Emergency Management Agency with administering executive orders that allowed suspension of the Constitution, implementation of martial law, establishment of internment camps, and the turning the government over to the President.

John Brinkerhoff, deputy director of FEMA, developed the martial law implementation plan, following a template originally developed by former FEMA director Louis Guiffrida to battle a �national uprising of black militants.� Gifuffrida�s implementation of martial law called for jailing at least 21 million African Americans in �relocation camps.� Brinkerhoff later admitted in an interview with the Miami Herald that President Reagan signed off on the initiatives and they remained in place, dormant, until George W. Bush took office.

Brinkerhoff moved on the Anser Institute for Homeland Security and, following the 9/11 terrorist attacks, provided the Bush White House and the Pentagon with talking points supporting revised �national security initiatives� that would could allow imposition of martial law and suspension of the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878, the law that is supposed to forbid use of troops for domestic law enforcement.

Brinkerhoff wrote that intentions of Posse Comitatus are �misunderstood and misapplied� and that the U.S. has in times of national emergency the �full and absolute authority� to send troops into American streets to �enforce order and maintain the peace.�

Bush used parts of the plan to send troops into the streets of New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina. In addition, FEMA hired former special forces personnel from the mercenary firm Blackwater USA to �enforce security.�

Blackwater USA, in its promotional materials, describes itself as �the most comprehensive professional military, law enforcement, security, peacekeeping, and stability operations company in the world,� adding that �we have established a global presence and provide training and operational solutions for the 21st century in support of security and peace, and freedom and democracy everywhere.�

Blackwater is also a major U.S. contractor in Iraq and has a contract with the Bush White House to provide additional security work �on an as-needed basis.�

The Department of Homeland Security established the �Northern Command for National Defense,� a wide-ranging program that includes FEMA, the Pentagon, the FBI and the National Security Agency. Executive orders already signed by Bush allow the Northern Command to send troops into American streets, seize control of radio and television stations and networks and impose martial law �in times of national emergency.�

The authority to declare what is or is not a national emergency rests entirely with Bush who does not have to either consult or seek the approval of Congress for permission to assume absolute control over the government of the United States.

The White House press office would neither confirm nor deny existence of Bush�s executive orders or the existence of the Northern Command for National Defense. Neither would the Department of Homeland Security.

But my sources within the White House and DHS tell me the plans are in place, ready for implementation when the command comes from the man who keeps telling the American public that he is a �war time president� who will �do anything in my power� to impose his will on the people of the United States.

And he has made sure that power will be absolute when he chooses to use it.

I have seen pictures on all the cable news stations of the women in their Birkas and the Taliban striding by with their AK47s. The stories go The Taliban is back, stronger and more organized than ever. The president of Afghanistan is resigning one term was enough. The opium trade has done better this year than any year previously. I pick this stuff up everywhere, TV, radio, magazines...

As for Lamont, do I think his win means everything will change? Of course not. What it meant and what it emphasized was the presence and strength of grassroots organizations, blogs. For some of us this is the only power we have. For some people they can vote in every election and their vote will never count. If you are in a definite, forever and ever amen red or blue state, if you are the opposite color your vote will not count ever. Your states votes will go to the same party it has always gone to. The Lamont win gives us some hope that we the people can vote again and have it count, not to mention just be counted...but that is another story. Secondly it put the spotlight on the fact that people are really sick of this war and the incompetent way it has been handled. The war will be a big issue in 2008.

Rabid hatred of Bush...I feel nothing towards Bush at all. He is a benign, hapless puppet. He pretty much does what he is told by his handlers. Now, Rove, Cheney...there are 2 fat bald guys I really dislike.

He just wants our vote and he figured this would be the way to get it. To promise to not tax us middle class folks. I don't believe he intends to keep his promise. He may at first but the bottom line is that all the government spending of his and the 3 trillion dollars he plans to spend....where he is going to get that money? He is going to get it from us and that includes the middle class.

All the companies who get tax hikes will pass that tax onto us as well by jacking up prices of products and services so we the consumers pay for that tax hike. Then Obama will have to raise taxes on the middle class as well to cover his government spending. It is common sense people. Look at his record. He has consistently wanted to raise taxes and that includes on us middle class folks he is all of sudden so interested in helping out since he is up for election. Give me a break. I see through the lies and false promises. That isn't change. That is Washington elitists at their norm.

Let the "stupid crap" go on until it is cleared up. I'm sick of hearing it, too, but I'll be dang if I want someone who is not a citizen to run our country. I want to know the truth and, so far, that truth isn't there. Too much secrecy (sp?) to warm my toes. It opens a whole 'nother can of worms if he is not a citizen, yet becomes president anyway.

It would mean a constitutional rule struck down and, (I shudder to think of this) even terrorists could run our country if they so desire and could pay off people who's vote count. Gee, do you want Chevez or Putnin to run our country? How about Ayers or Wright?

I'm just pointing out a few things here. There's too many question as why this was not resolved and why, all of a sudden, his records in Hawaii were sealed or whatever, after he went to "visit his sick grandmother."

Truth is all I want and I don't have it yet. But I will let the SC decide (if they weren't bribed) and then, I will embrace the O as a president until he screws up which, eventually, he will. He's coming off as "too perfect". There is no one "perfect" in my eyes.

Where is the mention of all the illegals that come here with drugs, and murder and rape our people?! Did I mention the pedophiles?! Just watch the news and it's all over the place! Just yesterday, they were talking about an illegal from Mexico in SanFrancisco that killed a father and his 2 boys, over a traffic incident!!!??? He was part of a gang! He previously was in trouble with the law before, and nothing was done! Now 3 people are dead, and a wife and 2 other children are forever torn apart by this low-life piece of sh*T that couldn't care LESS about life, liberty, and the pursuit!!!! Same story just a few months ago in LA. Another gang member (illegal) shot a young teen and he is now dead! These are just 2 of the MANY stories out there! Even the people that are coming here "for a better life", I can understand that. What I don't understand is them coming here and getting FREE medical, FREE housing, etc. etc. etc.... Why the hell are THEY entitled, but we, as natural-born citizens are not, because we may "make too much money?!" My dad is 62 years old, and probably will work till the day he dies, because he isn't "entitled" to any of this, he doesn't have savings or 401K to fall back on. My husband busts his butt, and pays a LOT of $ every month so that we all have medical, why? so they can come here and drop a kid for free, at the expense of OUR tax dollars?! BS!!! You wanna come here, fine! Then WORK for your OWN medical, housing, food, etc. etc.! I agree with the above, as for the lawbreakers, molesters, murderers, gang-bangers, let them all rot on an island together! And don't come here and wave your Mexican flag, or any other flag for that matter! If you went to other countries with your American flag, you would most likely be shot!

simple view of politics. I would think that if a bad bill is being put on the table, that enough politicians will see that it is bad and will vote against it, i.e. the bailout bill.
