how Obama would be tested....let's see, this morning we have 21 Americans captured by Somali pirates, Iran is detaining an American reporter for espionage, and North Korea fired a missile last week capable of carrying nukes to our soil. This is turning out exactly like many envisioned...only a lot sooner. It is only going to take him a year to run the country into the ground instead of 3 or 4. He drew a line in the sand and it looks like our enemies are running over each other to jump over it. What will he do next? Probably move the line back. Talk to them some more. Yeah right. It will only take one missile from North Korea, Barry, to wreak more havoc than 9-11 ever thought about. Not NY damaged, NY GONE. Maybe we need to send the Sec of State back to North Korea to slap their hands. Yeah...that will do it.
Whatever else Bush was or wasn't....he was a deterrent to the wingnuts because they were not sure WHAT he would do in those kinds of situations. They obviously felt pretty sure Barry would do just what he did....posture, throw words at them, let the UN say "unacceptable" and just move on...until what? One hopes that eventually Barry will grow a backbone. Or whoever is pulling his strings will....

My original post, after which you went off on me for no good reason, merely stated I was going to respect what two of the posters here were complaining about, that they did not want conservatives coming here and *making* them defend their positions because they were good people and knew they were right. I said I would respect that and just read, although I did not really understand why someone secure in their view would mind presenting it while also respecting the right of someone to disagree. Yes, that is definitely extending an olive branch. There is no need to fight and there is certainly no need to make it personal like fighting kids in a schoolyard. And, typically, under whatever moniker you use, you swoop in with the snide personal attacks. I guess you just can't help yourself.
I said I used to enjoy coming to this board because there were liberals who posted here who WERE secure in their beliefs and did not mind a lively debate at all. We did not always agree, but in some cases we did, and we respected each other's opinions. And you know that, because when you took time out from personally attacking me and every other conservative who came to this board, I am sure you read some of those posts. Yes, I know you are going to deny that I know you...but I know you. You stand out, believe me, because even if you change your moniker, your style of posting gives you away. know who they were voting for. They heard one thing: CHANGE. Yet, change is not what we are getting. It's politics as usual. O does not know how to lead. He only knows how to follow. He is letting people like Schumer, Pelosi, Reid, and countless others walk all over him. He has no clout. He is a lamb being led to the slaughter, yet he doesn't realize it yet.
If he wants to be a good president, he would stop the antics going on now, but I really don't think he knows how to do it. It's a shame, too, because although I did not vote for him, I had hope.
Check photos of him lately. He's not looking so confident anymore. He is starting to think he got in over his head and unless he takes control of the dems, he will go down in history as a president worse than Jimmy Carter.

The majority of the military
have always been conservative. However, many military members and veterans are changing their minds after what has taken place in recent years. Watch the results of the election and see which way the military goes and compare that to elections in the past.

I'm simply not in a position to judge all that stuff. There's far more going on behind the scenes than we know. That's not to give Bush (or any politician, for that matter) a free pass.
The big threat approaching is Israel & Iraq. A war there is inevitable (& soon), and they're a huge ally of ours. The not only deserve our help, but will likely need it.

of people want same sex marriage, the measure will pass. Until then, they will just have to keep putting it to a vote. We the people have the right to decide what we want; majority rules and most don't want same sex marriage. Have a civil union, have the same benefits, etc, but don't call it marriage.
