I don't feel particularly safe -
I am not a Bush basher - I actually voted for him and have never once said that I should have voted differently. And you will not find one single bad comment about him on this board that has come from me.
That being said, from things I have been reading that are going on in the administration right now, I am really worried about how much damage can be done and how long it will take to fix that damage.
I felt the same way when Hillary/Bill left the white house - they screwed up a lot in those last days and that is one reason why Hillary did not get my vote this time.
I feel like Bush has actually done a pretty good job over all with all the problems he had to face during his 8 years - never said otherwise...
I sure hope you are right because I sure do not feel safe. sm
Have you heard this one?
The 19 little Arabs who hated our freedoms and got by NORAD.
Good for you. Everyone should feel safe. nm
nm
Absolutely, I am grateful you posted that
Those are the exact things that need to be done.
MIchael Moore should be grateful
to live in America - a place where he can get rich off of blasting everything that is American. I believe everyone has a right to thier opinion, but to honestly say that one party is responsible for the way the economy is going right now is reprehensible.
You really think that it's the government's fault about the housing crisis? Sure, they set the plans in motion (plans that were started by the Clinton administration so that lower income people could get a home loan - Bush's mistake was to keep those plans going - this crisis has been coming on for a long time and everyone ignored it), but what about the people that actually went ahead and got those loans, knowing full well that they wouldn't be able to carry that mortgage out?
We all need to stop pointing the fingers at Washington and take a little of the responsibility ourselves. We're a nation that became very comfortable in our easy lifestyle and the more we could get, the more we would take. Now we want our government to give us more?
Left to his own devices, Michael Moore would probably declare himself dictator and rename our country Mooreland or something crazy like that. Gotta disagree with you on this one, gourdpainter; check out some of his movies and articles and I think you may find that you agree with him maybe 32%.
be grateful you have money to hide
so stingy and hateful
and I feel like makin *du du duu du du duu* feel like maaa-k-in love to YOU!
ARGH!!
Less Safe
Bush and his group of neocons say we are more safe and secure due to his illegal war. That is so not true. We are less safe because of the Iraq war. We have created a terrorist breeding ground and a reason for people of other countries to hate us even more. I was shocked when the neocons linked up 9/11and Iraq. There was no connection whatsoever, yet so many Americans believed the lies. I can understand that a lot of Americans are not really into politics, gee, having to work two or three jobs, take care of a home and kids leaves little time..so we trust our leaders. Well, in this situation we should not have trusted our leaders. My motto always has been, **Question Authority**.
How exactly did he keep us safe?
What actual credible plot was derailed by him?
It is safe to say that his
future political career is in the dumpster. At least he admitted it when he got caught instead of lying under oath like Clinton and at least his wife wasn't dying of cancer like Edwards wife supposedly was....but whatever. Keep trashing pubs for mistakes that dems make all the time if it makes you feel better JTBB!
It is a shame that we have to hear about politicians doing this sort of thing and I do feel for his wife and kids. He will have to live with the consequences of his actions.
Agree with you, PK, but safe is only
a state of mind...just as is FREEDOM. We have no freedom anymore, face it! It's gone!, gone to the people who HATE US! Just dispicable. And the really sad truth, Bush didn't do this all by himself, he's TOO STUPID. For some reason, the higher echilon wants to be rid of the middle class which doesn't make much sense either as the middle class foots all of the bills. By the time we all figure this out, it will be WAY TOO LATE. Pessimistic? You bet I am. But, I just keep plugging away from day to day, doing the best I can, but waiting for the shoe to drop. At least we aren't in the dark, which is more than I can say about the other 25% of the American people.
I don't think it's safe too share too much on here. SM
I did it once and I was crucified for it. Won't do it again. Truthfully, and this is not meant to be mean, I don't think I would have much in common with most on this board at all.
Bush Kept us Safe?
You are sadly mistaken. We're lucky he didn't get us blown off the face of the earth. Read history, don't try to rewrite it.
Who was keeping us safe before
9/11? So tired of hearing this crap. This was the first time ever (not this present president on watch) that the US was attacked on its own land and yet you talk about since 9/11. Why not even before then?? I think the attitude of most on here sucks. All chicken littles, scared. booooooo. See, made you jump.
Praying for his safe return....nm
Happy Holidays everyone & be safe.nm

NY Safe Demo State
I wouldn't put any stock into NY being a "safe" democratic state. A lot of people I know who were pro-democraft are now going to vote for McCain. I live in Western NY
Agreed! Glad we have been safe.
nm
for new pres foremost, to keep us safe.

and happy and safe Thanksgiving to you also - nm

Baloney...George W. did not keep us safe from anything!
He is leaving office with the United States in shambles.
I have heard and read about how he kept safe
Well, 9/11 happened while he WAS president, what about that or is that not considered. The absolute worst event on US soil by us being attacked. Give me a break!
I'm glad our country has been kept safe and
I am free to do what I want when I want. My life has not changed. Do I feel safer because of the polices put in place...you bet! I thank my lucky stars we have policies in place that keep us safe. That when a plan is happening to destroy the country they can get to it before it comes to fruition.
As for your calls being listened to....that happened many many years ago. I do believe it happened during the Regan years (I'll be honest and tell you I can't find anything on the internet as to when it actually started) but I know for a fact it was happening during the Clinton administration.
Wonder how many who worked at the WTC felt safe on 9/10/01?
I'd bet about 100%. Doesn't mean much, does it? In fact, the majority are often wrong when it comes to things like this.
You feel someone should be forced to do something they feel is wrong? sm
Sounds like communism to me.
Gosh, this site might not be safe since you have IP information!!!
how does it feel?
I don't think it is safe to ignore people like Chomsky. sm
I have never been a head in the sand kind of person. Especially when Hugo Chavez holds him up (as well as his book) as a shining example when speaking to the UN.
To be safe from terrorists and nukes from Iran
x
Yes, am happy to still be safe and free. Hope

Bush kept us safe after 9-11. Economy was great
nm
The OP said that Cheney said Obama could not keep us safe and could he now say "I told you so"
To me, that sounds like they are laying blame at Obama's feet for the flu. If I misread, then I apologize, but that is the way it came to me.
So how did the Cheney comment fit in except to say that Obama was not keeping us safe from this flu?
x
Thank you, President Bush, for your service and especially for keeping us safe at home. nm
I do not feel sorry for the 'terrorists', I feel
sorry for those who are (or soon were) held there and are innocent.
I feel ya..
I just have to try and stay positive. I dont want THEM to win.
JUST KIDDING!!!
Hey, why don't you tell us how you really feel?
nm
Tell us how you really feel
I think you need to use about 1,000 more ugly adjectives to make your point...
Feel the same way...
....I learn a lot on this board. Let's give the administrator a chance??? Otherwise IGNORE the trolls, even though it is really really hard!
LOL I feel the same way!
I am intrigued with his eloquence, not to mention his intelligence and complete command of law knowledge. Yeah, I know he's been studying and practicing, but he seems pretty sincere.
I'm just worried about the proverbial wolf in sheep's clothing. He is a conservative and if Bush nominates another conservative, well...
One of my concerns is the abortion issue. I am personally against abortion, but I am pro-choice. It scares me to think what would happen if Roe V Wade was overturned. Illegal abortions, girls and nonwealthy women dying. Of course, we would definitely see a rise in D&C's for the rich and connected.
I feel sorry for him, too.
He was always one of my favorites. He still is. He was *conned* just like the rest of the world. I can understand why he resigned. Being a man of such honesty and integrity, I hope he doesn't beat himself up too much personally about it. I don't believe he intentionally meant to lie. He was merely another victim of the current administration.
I feel the same way. sm
I have issues with much of President Bush's policy, most espeically immigration and big spending. I don't see that President Bush supports the true conservative mindset. I do support him, however, because he does uphold many other conservative values including abortion and I am 100% behind the war against Islamic terrorists.
Many feel it is necessary
I am not the only one who feels protesting is necessary, as you well know.
It is nice to spout opinions about what YOU think are the consequences of protesting, but there is no facts to back this up and is pure speculation, which I continue to see quite a bit of.
No need to feel sorry!! nm
nm
Im sorry you feel that way,
however, theres nothing superficial about the content in the video. Pets already have these type of chips implanted in them. Tracking chips. This is very REAL.
These chips are around NOW. As seen on on the video, a family has already volunteered to have these v chipis implanted. Theses chips will be more sophisticated than the ones placed in pets. Medical information, banking information, everything about you will be in this chip. At first it may be voluntary but before long these will be mandatory, to to buy or sell or do anything. Sure sounds like Revelation to me. End Times.
For those who have Christ's Salvation, they will be taken up with him in the clouds when he comes back. It's the ones left behind that will suffer this and many other great tribulations. Things are happening all around us that are in the book of REVELATIONS. Wars and rumors of war. Famine, Floods, Natural Disasters everytime you turn around. Rampant homosexuality, Abortions, pornography kids killing kids, gang violence, sexuality strewn everywhere and many other things on the news. This world is full of evil. Satans playground. Not to mention the economy and the shape it's in. People are losing their homes, jobs. There focus is on material things. Charge it now, worry about it later. It's all catching up. Yes, I believe we are in End Times. I do respect your opinion though. I will respectfully agree to disagree.
God Bless.
Lisa
Feel Ya
I really feel you. I was in the credit union one day recently and actually talked to a woman I know who was there to process an application for a credit card because of that idiotic commercial.
"I feel so alone..."
Sorry you feel that way.
Sorry you can't let people live their own lives without feeling the need to determine that a woman "must have a baby no matter what". I guess you would rather see a child raised in poverty, be hungry, live with abusive parents, be a punching bag if the parents take their frustation out on the child, feel unloved, and unwanted. After all.. the person who got pregnant as someone so delicately put it "needs to deal with it and be responsible". Sure it's responsible to bring a child into a horrible horrible home just so the mother can "suffer the consequences" that she accidentally got pregnant. Never mind the condom broke or her birth control pills didn't work, or she was raped, or it was found that the child would be severely crippled or retarded and would never ever have any hopes of having a normal or decent life, or any of the other numerous reasons someone may have gotten pregnant. But by god they better have that child and pay for their mistake.
We are all entitled to our opinions, but when it comes to another woman deciding with her doctor the best course of action for her future and the future of a baby (who is not even developed yet and cannot feel pain or think) that's where I draw the line and it then is not my business and if it happens to me it is nobody elses business - and that is my opinion!
We don't need to watch any abortion films. We all know the process and what happens. If the baby has developed it's a horrible horrible thing. There is no denying that. At the same time it's quick. Making a child suffer for life (60, 70 & 80 years or more) your okay with that??? I say let the child be born into the Kingdom of Heaven where the child will not have to suffer the consequence of a horrible life on earth but feel the love forever our our creator.
Isn't that odd? I feel the same way about...
true believers of BO/JB.
Sorry you feel that way.......
One doesn't have to be "religous" to feel abortion is murder. Believe it or not, there are "nonbelievers" out there who believe abortion is murder. Some are so condemning of those that believe it is murder because a lot of them have had or know of someone who have had an abortion and have those feelings/issues to deal with.
And the "crutch" you refer to, which I believe would be God, isn't a bad thing, ya know. Maybe you should try it!!!!!!
I wonder about this too. I feel really bad for...sm
the soldiers that have had their tours of duty extended up to 12 months and when they get home for a few months, get sent back again. How long can this keep up. So many of them are National Guard who have real jobs and families back home. It is just not fair that the burden is shared by so few.
I feel the same way as you do.
DH told me there is some site that tells who voted for it and against it.
The whole lot of them needs to be fired!!!! Especially starting with the ones you mentioned.
The dems are sitting there patting themselves on the back for getting this to pass when they are the ones who put the crisis in hand.
Both Obama and McCain voted for it. I'm disgussed with both of them. I'm voting for the constitution party this election. It's about time we put the country back on the right track.
It is true though. We have no control. We are supposed to, but it seems like the people are just placing themselves in the position of office. Pelosi? Give me a break. She's been in there how long and she's still doing a sh!tty job. Frank? Pulleease. And Dodd? He's probably the worse. No wonder why Connecticut (my home state) wants him to remain in Washington, they don't want him in Connecticut.
Politicians in DC, corrupt to the max, liars to the bone.
