I am praying that Obama wins this election
I do NOT want a president/VP that condones racism, hate filled rhetoric, anti-american views.  Palin supports the Alaska Independence Group and they are anti-government and want a separate america and now Palin and McCain are basically encouraging the same thing.  Obama brings unity and diversity and I am glad that he is running.  What a breath of fresh air.  I dont care about what anyone here has to say about the rumors of this and that concerning Obama.  They have all been started and expounded upon by McCain/Palin campaign and they are lies.  And WHY is it okay to give the wealthy the breaks in this world and that is an acceptable republican concept but as soon as someone says they are going to look out for the little guy and SPREAD THE WEALTH of the ecomony evenly, they are suddenly a socialist?   Did McCain NOT approve the bailout plan that is buying STOCK into our banking system?  Did McCain NOT approve the plan for the goverment to own half of America's mortgages?  Dont talk to me about socialism McCain until you look at yourself.  And by the way, people try to associate Acorn with Obama and voter registration fraud.  What about the GOP intimidating people to change their party and telling them they HAVE to change their party in order to vote for a sexual predator law?????  That is voter fraud and McCain is the GOP.
We are all praying for Obama and He/She will answer our prayers

Gene Robinson: Gay Bishop Giving Obama Inauguration Prayer

Well, even though that Saddleback jerks is there too...

from the Huffington Post 1/12/09

New Hampshire Episcopal Bishop Gene Robinson, a vocal gay rights leader, will open President-elect Barack Obama's inauguration with a prayer on Sunday's kick-off event at the Lincoln Memorial.

"I am writing to tell you that President-Elect Obama and the Inaugural Committee have invited me to give the invocation at the opening event of the Inaugural Week activities, We are One, to be held at the Lincoln Memorial," Robinson wrote in an email to friends.

The announcement comes after weeks of outcry from the gay community over Obama's choice of evangelical, anti-gay pastor Rick Warren to deliver the inaugural invocation.

"It's important for any minority to see themselves represented in some way," Robinson said in an interview with the Concord Monitor. "Whether it be a racial minority, an ethnic minority or, in our case, a sexual minority. Just seeing someone like you up front matters."

Robinson is the first openly gay diocesan bishop in the Anglican Communion. "God never gets it wrong. The church often takes a long time to get it right. It is a human institution, but one capable of self-correction," Robinson told the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. "I believe in my heart that the church got it wrong about homosexuality. There is great excitement in my heart to be living in a time when the church is starting to get it right."

Robinson said he would love to sit down with Rick Warren but believed that the California pastor has "perpetrated lies about the gay, lesbian and bisexual community."

She said, *Yes, I will join.* Not that

No, YOU try to keep up.  Better yet, LOOK up.  Look straight above.  It's in the headline of her post.  You don't even have to open it up to see it.

Another example of taking the truth and totally twisting it to mean something else.

Yes, I will join does NOT mean would if possible.

Bottom line is she isn't going anywhere.  It's just another inflated lie of hers, and anyone with half a brain knows it.

By the way, why are you answering for her (unless, of course, you ARE her and answering in the third person (which would actually explain a LOT).

LOL, may I join you?..nm
nm
Yes, I will join. I was there once, I will go again. No problem at all. NM

Gee I think we should all join the bandwagon
I know of at least 100 parks around the area I can claim as my home and seeing as many homeless have no id there will be no way to check for legitimacy so I'll be just fine. In fact I live close to another state so this weekend I think we'll go on down there too. Let's see...100 parks nearby, that's at least 100 votes that I can therefore put towards McCain. There may even be more than than that. Plus, put that with my husbands votes he's going to submit that will give McCain 200 more votes (at least).
My prayer is for God to have his will in
the lady's life and to prepare her heart to receive him if as her Savior if she has done so. As for her grandson, my prayer is as usual, for God to change his heart and let him know what is right in God's sight and to seek God's guidance in his every decision.
He sure needs prayer because anyone who
is for abortion and anyone who is for gay marriage, well, basically not of God.  He is an eloquent speaker alright.
Join the Army and BYOB

Body Armor Reimbursement | Print |

OEF/OIF Vets: Did you buy your own body armor, helmet, or other protective gear?  The Pentagon has finally agreed to reimburse you.  Read this article, and get paid back.

October 5, 2005: Once again, Operation Truth’s Online Army helped ensure that those who are risking their lives for this nation get the support they need. After receiving over 5,000 messages from Operation Truth members, the Senate approved an amendment offered by Senator Christopher Dodd, ordering the Secretary of Defense to follow the law and reimburse Troops who were forced to buy their own protective equipment for use in the war in Iraq.

Feeling the pressure from the Senate move, the Department of Defense immediately announced that it will end its stalling and pay Troops back, starting immediately.

OEF/OIF Troops: Here’s what you need to know to get paid back.

Requirements:

1) The equipment must be on a list of critical safety or health equipment that was in short supply. This list includes combat helmets, ballistic eye protection, hydration systems, and tactical vests, including body armor and body armor inserts.  Other equipment, like scopes, are likely to be added soon.

2) With receipts, you’ll be reimbursed for an item’s actual purchase price and shipping cost(up to $1,100 per item). If you don’t have receipts, you will be reimbursed a standard estimated cost for each item.  Here's a partial list of estimated costs:

reimburse.jpg

3) All reimbursed items become property of the U.S. government and must be turned in to the unit logistics officer, unless they were destroyed in combat or are otherwise no longer available for good reason.

Here’s what you have to do:

Submit Department of Defense Form 2902, Claim for Reimbursement for Privately Purchased Protective, Safety or Health Equipment used in Combat form to your chain of command. If you’ve separated from the service, you can submit this form to an authorizing official designated by their former service at an address on the form.

All claims must be submitted by Oct. 3, 2006.

Skinheads don't join the military.
They have their own militia.  If you or anyone at the NYT knew how the military works, there is a quite extensive questionnaire before you are inducted and questioning regarding subversive groups.  KKK is one of them.  The KKK has actually greatly dwindled in size. Add to that the fact that the majority of the military now is made of minorities and you get the picture.  Skinheads would not rape a woman of color.  It's not what they do.  In fact, it is the antithesis of what they do. They might kill them, but rape them...no way.  Educate yourself. You just look foolish when you continue to downgrade our military this way.
I could join the three people who watch
...and if I ever have reason to visit you in the loony bin, I'm sure I'll have that opportunity.
you can come join my newly formed
Repo Party, our only objective so far is to get our country back and adhere to the constitution. I guess that so far is a party of 3! and they are both related to me.
Prayer is good and thanks...however..sm
I don't see where the article you posted about Ricky Rector is an adequate comparison to the Karen Tucker case where she claimed to have found God and was mocked.

There is also a difference between a mentally challenged person committing a crime and ending up on death row and a person of sane mind committing a crime and injuring his brain in a suicide attempt AFTER THE CRIME (not screaming just trying to get that point across). When he committed the crime, he was not mentally ill.
I agree and second that prayer ....(nm)
.
Noone is saying prayer alone works, Sim!
nm
Get a new line. That prayer cop-out
nm
At least YOU could stop for a while and say a prayer!
McCain did!
Yes, praying to keep... sm
WITCHES away and help her with her political career.

I guess it's not a big deal if you think witches are a big cause of all your problems (as her pastor does...) He's gone on witch hunts in Africa, *literally* calling some poor innocent women witches and driving them out of their villages. It's madness.
wonder WHO you are praying to?
A god who supports abortion, and even letting a child born alive die for lack of medical care? The Almighty God does not support same.
Prayer vigil for our nation
I posted this on the Faith board but I also wanted to post it here just in case...

The North American Mission Board has started a prayer vigil for our nation before the election. If you want to participate there is a sign up and prayer guide at

http://ilivevalues.com/prayer

It's 40 days of prayer and then 40 hours of prayer at the end. Check it out! I think it will really do some good and if God's people work together and call out to Him together to heal our nation, He said He would hear us and do so!

Have a great day!

God Bless!

p.s. this wasn't meant to start a riot or to have a bunch of people who don't believe in prayer or God to get up in arms, it's just for those who would like to participate, so please don't go there. Thanks!

Prayer and reading the Bible
I agree with you and if every person who calls on the name of the Lord Jehovah who sent His Son Jesus (Yeshua) votes for McCain, I believe this nation will stay a free country.  We just need to continue to read the Bible and prayer fervently to the the Lord Jesus and perhaps He will heal our land.
It would seem to me that when two neighboring states governors join forces
and declare a state of emergency, that the President would have to pay attention.  It's lunacy for him not to.  Yes, I totally agree with you in that our borders must become better secured and that's why I posted the petition.  If you want to see more about illegal immigration also visit www.numbersusa.com
War Hero Murtha wouldn't join military now

US Rep. Murtha says he wouldn't join military now

03 Jan 2006 01:00:32 GMT
Source: Reuters
WASHINGTON, Jan 2 (Reuters) - Rep. John Murtha, a key Democratic voice who favors pulling U.S. troops from Iraq, said in remarks airing on Monday that he would not join the U.S. military today.

A decorated Vietnam combat veteran who retired as a colonel after 37 years in the U.S. Marine Corps, Murtha told ABC News' Nightline program that Iraq absolutely was a wrong war for President George W. Bush to have launched.

Would you join (the military) today?, he was asked in an interview taped on Friday.

No, replied Murtha of Pennsylvania, the top Democrat on the House of Representatives subcommittee that oversees defense spending and one of his party's leading spokesmen on military issues.

And I think you're saying the average guy out there who's considering recruitment is justified in saying 'I don't want to serve', the interviewer continued.

Exactly right, said Murtha, who drew White House ire in November after becoming the first ranking Democrat to push for a pullout of U.S. forces from Iraq as soon as it could be done safely.

At the time, White House spokesman Scott McClellan equated Murtha's position with surrendering to terrorists.

Since then, Bush has decried the defeatism of some of his political rivals. In an unusually direct appeal, he urged Americans on Dec. 18 not to give in to despair over Iraq, insisting that we are winning despite a tougher-than-expected fight.

Murtha did not respond directly when asked whether a lack of combat experience might have affected the decision-making of Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and their former top deputies.

Let me tell you, war is a nasty business. It sears the soul, he said, choking up. And it made a difference. The shadow of those killings stay with you the rest of your life.

Asked for comment, a Defense Department spokesman, Lt. Col. John Skinner, said: We have an all-volunteer military. People are free to choose whether they serve or not.

Our freedom of speech in this country allows all of us the opportunity to voice an opinion. It's one of our great strengths as a nation, he added in an e-mailed reply.

The White House had no immediate comment.

Appreciate that. I'm praying for our leadership

praying for our leaders
we are admonished to pray for our leaders ...sort of a political love your enemies :-) please do not forget to pray for and support our third party candidates as well - brave men and women have not shed blood for this country so that it can be "ruled" by one party masquerading as two. we are in a homeland security crisis - our own Wall Street is committing domestic financial terrorism, exactly what we were warned that foreign terrorists would do. why are we being protected from our "enemies, both foreign and domestic"?? the corruption of our financial stability is treasonous, and the names of the traitors are known.
What's so scary about it? The man was just praying
for her.
praying/wishing.........
Well, I had an uncle that was quite colorful to say the least but he truly believed God had the last word in everything. When he heard someone say they "wished", he would tell them to wish in one hand and pee in the other and see which one fills up quicker, basically saying wishing has nothing to do with believing. Believing is having faith, faith in things you cannot see.
they are frightening but I just keep praying
and praying we can get this over with soon so people can reuinte and calm down. Too many people are way over-anxious to heed these calls of hatred, violence, war mongering. This hate has to stop before the end of the world is literally forced on us.
They say it takes one to know one. I think we'd all better do a little praying. n/m

Don't lecture me on praying and you need
to take this topic to the Faith board. How dare you question whether I pray or not. You insult those by saying that because you prayed this is who God chose to be in the white house. That is a total insult to the people who prayed otherwise. This is the same attitute that I get from my aunt - well you must be praying wrong because my prayers were answered and yours were not. Tell that the the priests, bishops, reverands and all the other spiritual leaders.

Take your religious overtones to the Faith board that is what that board is there for. Tell all of them on the Faith board that God chose Obama because you prayed and that is who was chosen. I think you'll hear otherwise (but that's probably why you posted here instead of there).
yes, thank you, everyone is praying for me and it is really helping....nm
X
And those of different faith are probably praying

Everyone, regardless of their personal religious beliefs, is worshipping the "true" God, the one that is "true and living" to them.

No religion is better or "truer" and more "living" than another.

Your creator is "true and living" to you.  Someone else's creator might be just as "true and living" to them.

Thank you so much for your care! And I will be praying for you....sm
I know well from my hospital work what CF is like....you are RIGHT to go on SSDI, if you do not deserve it, especialy with all of your work history, NO ONE does. And I have a friend with cancer who filed for SSDI; her lawyers told her that they always turn you down the first time, but the second time, if you have the medical records, you get through, and she did, she also could not type and had low energy, she will be on varying forms of chemo for much of the future. People who do not have a serious, chronic, ongoing, life-altering illness (which by the way, both our illnesses can be fatal, and I well remember the pancreatitis pain, I would rather have 10 more kids natural!), they can't get it....you are so sweet for your concern, write me anytime if you want a "sister" to talk with, and I honestly will be praying for your health AND your finances. God Bless!!!!!!!!
I have been praying about this all week-
end. I knew we were not going to let them take that good Captain ashore! I was horrified earlier today when I heard that it was the WH holding up a decision to do anything (should have known Obama thought he could *talk* to those pirates! or whatever his inexperience was costing us again).

I really don't care about the court of world opinion, and I am sure you are right. I am just thankful that the Captain was strong enough and brave enough to escape again and our Navy Seals and other military were able to rescue him without injury. I just hate that it took as long as it did to get him back safe.

And, yes, I am very curious to see how Obama and his elite followers are going to take credit for this one. Especially after apologizing for our arrogance all last week.
U.S., France join in cease-fire call in Lebanon war..sm
So we are back bumping elbows with France. If only we would have taken their advice on Iraq too.
Join the club - apparently I'm a 'bible-thumping christianist' lol
But you do have a good plan.

Let's all wait until after the damage is done before we try to inform ourselves about an issue.

Yeah. Real good plan.
I'm praying for you and your dark soul.

Praying for his safe return....nm

Can we stop the bickering for a few moments and say a sincere prayer...

for those on our gulf coast, and for all the emergency workers down there to help?  They are more important than anything we are saying here right now!

Fierce Prayer for Brstol Palin (Manning)

Praying, trusting and respecting leaders?
I'm curious as to why one would consider this a viable option for change. Maybe I'm taking the remark out of context? No one just "deserves" respect. You earn that. It is not an entitlement. Neither is trust. Nothing is really, except for basic human decency. An example would be our soldiers. They earn their respect....most of them anyway. Our leaders are another story entirely.

Kicking and screaming and ranting is part of dissent, not only a right, but a responsibility. Folks need to have a look at our Declaration of Independence. Seriously.
Either side can fail to deliver on promises. My only hope and prayer is that
I'm honestly not 100% sure either one of these candidates can do it so where do people like me fit into the picture? I'm not even sure I will be able to vote for either one, and that's based on my personal values. I don't feel Barack is the man, like many seem to, but I don't feel McCain is, either. I know I'm not alone. I don't believe socialized insurance is the answer, I believe in going after insurance companies that dictate what patients can have done and set premiums too high for people to afford and pharmaceutical companies that pay people off to push their drugs, whether it be doctors, groups, etc. I'd like to see all with tax cuts, not just big companies. Wonderful if they get a break for keeping jobs in the US, but that should be just one of many tax cuts for all, starting with taxes paid at the pump. What about public education? We pay fees and still have to buy extra books and other supplies for our kids' education, yet many children are less educated now out of public high school than ever before because they are too focused on the proficiency tests to actually teach a well-rounded fund of knowledge, so what are the proposals to fix that mess?

No matter who gets elected, they've got quite a job on their hands, and I sincerely doubt either will be able to live up to their promises. And no, I don't necessarily blame Bush for all the problems in this country, but rather I blame all presidents and congress, past and present. Somewhere along the way, it stopped being for the people, that's for sure, and more for their pocketbooks (both Dems AND Repubs). Since so many seem to see Barack as the second coming, I certainly pray that you are right, but I really doubt it. He's had zero experience so who is to say he won't buckle under the load once he realizes what he's gotten into? And McCain isn't my idea of perfection, either, so don't reply by bashing Republicans. I want to hear facts that aren't based on party views but honest-to-goodness facts on who has the best plan in line for these things. And how do you know who is being sincere and who is just making empty campaign promises?
A bipartisan prayer request viewed as provoking hate.
by taking this kind of position and posting these kinds or rants.
That's awful! Praying all those held will be released safely...
they are saying a woman and child have been released, and that is a good thing...praying this will end with no innocent folks being hurt.
Finding those Bachmann, US-style weath distribution and prayer request for O's GM
Hate-generating slurs don't blink an eye, even with Obama's last living elder relative on her death bed. Such class. And this would capture votes how?
You poor thing. I'll say an extra prayer for the demons to leave your heart.

Big hug.
