Joe Lowery goes back very, very far- marched with MLK, pals around with Andrew Young and a very decent person. I have visited in his church years ago before his retirement. He was dead on and I enjoy his sermons, watching him with his fireside chats he has had before. He tells it like it is. I see nothing wrong with it myself, just himself. Others laughed- lighten up, why don’t you?

When Bush was first elected, he said he would reach out across the aisle. I very quickly became disappointed that he didn't do that. On Sept 11, when the Democrats united with him aganst terrorists, I thought that was commendable, and was disappointed when Rush Limbaugh mocked them for it.
When Obama was elected, I was happy that people were optimistic and forward looking. But I'm seeing more mean posts than ever.
I am just so sick of this nasty partisanship. Can't people be gracious winners?

I believe that a lot of people voted for Obama because he is black, but in the same argument, I believe a lot of people did not vote for him just because he is black. I think it worked both ways.
I also think this OP was a very racist thing and was uncalled for and just downright disgusting.

Attorneys have clients sign one before agreeing to take on a case. If they win, they get a certain PERCENTAGE of the proceeds. The percentage is always less than 50% so your premise that they get more than the clients simply isn't true.
On the other hand, if the plaintiff loses the case, they don't owe the attorney any money.
Either way, it's a win-win situation for the plaintiff, and there are no surprises. Nobody twists the arm of the plaintiff to agree to pay the attorney.
And another thing you're ignoring is the these large judgments are awarded by everyday people, juries of the plaintiff's peers.
You obviously prefer rich, negligent doctors and corporatons who can carelessly kill people and get away with it to rich hard-working attorneys who win cases against killer docs and killer corporations, sometimes fronting the costs to their clients who can't afford it.
Bushy don't care much for these lawsuits 'cause too many OB-GYNs aren't able to practice their love with women all across this country. So I guess that means that docs and corporations have a green light to kill and maim people cuz they're so special.
Hope one of 'em doesn't kill or maim you or your family.

I wanted to like this woman, and I did for approximately the first 48 hours after she was named as Sen. McCain's running mate. Then I heard from a close friend whose sister teaches high school Spanish in the small Alaskan town SP was mayor of. SP's son, the one who is about to be deployed overseas, was her student a few years ago and allegedly not a high-achieving one. My friend's sister said he was disrespectful and acted like he thought he was better than everyone else, and when it came time for the parent-teacher conference SP blamed his failing grades on her.
Okay, so this is one person's biased description and I didn't pay a lot of attention to it, but THEN I discovered her history regarding wildlife, ecology and "hunting," and I have to tell you this is a deal breaker for me.
What is so incredible to me is that she appears extremely caring and passionate regarding issues related to motherhood, family, child welfare and the right to life, yet she is completely void of emotion or sensitivity towards "lesser" forms of life. I don't care that she's a lifetime member of the NRA or even that she's a hunter, but she has a frightening and callous history in terms of wielding her legal power to exploit, maim and destroy wildlife and their natural habitats.
I'm so disgusted and disillusioned by all the political BS and hype coming from every direction that I can honestly say I don't plan to vote in the coming election.
