I know of at least 100 parks around the area I can claim as my home and seeing as many homeless have no id there will be no way to check for legitimacy so I'll be just fine. In fact I live close to another state so this weekend I think we'll go on down there too. Let's see...100 parks nearby, that's at least 100 votes that I can therefore put towards McCain. There may even be more than than that. Plus, put that with my husbands votes he's going to submit that will give McCain 200 more votes (at least).

October 5, 2005: Once again, Operation Truth’s Online Army helped ensure that those who are risking their lives for this nation get the support they need. After receiving over 5,000 messages from Operation Truth members, the Senate approved an amendment offered by Senator Christopher Dodd, ordering the Secretary of Defense to follow the law and reimburse Troops who were forced to buy their own protective equipment for use in the war in Iraq.
Feeling the pressure from the Senate move, the Department of Defense immediately announced that it will end its stalling and pay Troops back, starting immediately.
OEF/OIF Troops: Here’s what you need to know to get paid back.
Requirements:
1) The equipment must be on a list of critical safety or health equipment that was in short supply. This list includes combat helmets, ballistic eye protection, hydration systems, and tactical vests, including body armor and body armor inserts. Other equipment, like scopes, are likely to be added soon.
2) With receipts, you’ll be reimbursed for an item’s actual purchase price and shipping cost(up to $1,100 per item). If you don’t have receipts, you will be reimbursed a standard estimated cost for each item. Here's a partial list of estimated costs:
3) All reimbursed items become property of the U.S. government and must be turned in to the unit logistics officer, unless they were destroyed in combat or are otherwise no longer available for good reason.
Here’s what you have to do:
Submit Department of Defense Form 2902, Claim for Reimbursement for Privately Purchased Protective, Safety or Health Equipment used in Combat form to your chain of command. If you’ve separated from the service, you can submit this form to an authorizing official designated by their former service at an address on the form. All claims must be submitted by Oct. 3, 2006.

They have their own militia. If you or anyone at the NYT knew how the military works, there is a quite extensive questionnaire before you are inducted and questioning regarding subversive groups. KKK is one of them. The KKK has actually greatly dwindled in size. Add to that the fact that the majority of the military now is made of minorities and you get the picture. Skinheads would not rape a woman of color. It's not what they do. In fact, it is the antithesis of what they do. They might kill them, but rape them...no way. Educate yourself. You just look foolish when you continue to downgrade our military this way.

All I can say is Hollywood would be proud...
Quite an acting job. I call it *cheerleading.* Trying to push people into an emotional frenzy. There are many that think pushing someone into an emotional frenzy will get them to make a decision for the Lord. Trouble is, that just confuses people and when the emotion wears off the *cheerleaders* are gone, the person who has made the *decision* is confused, does not know why all the emotion left and begin to question, and have no place to turn. I personally believe the choice for God is not made in the heat of an emotional moment but in a moment of quiet, clear clarity built on a solid base of faith. I do not mean to cast aspersions on anyone's choice of faith. It is just easier to get through the every day if you have that quiet, strong knowledge of faith and not expect to slide through life on an emotional freight train. That does not mean I do not have my emotional moments, because I do; usually associated with music because that is one of the ways God speaks to my heart. However, those who make an emotional decision not based on faith and knowledge of God's word get disenchanted when the *cheerleaders* are gone. That is why counselors are present at the Grahams' gatherings, so that people can talk quietly with someone and understand their decision before it is made. That way they have something concrete to hold onto when the emotion goes away. Just my two cents worth.

Way too many get sucked into that Hollywood
Because those "rich" Hollywood folks that so many O lovers love and follow, those folks have so many loopholes for their money, they KNOW they will not be paying taxes out the butt. They can afford folks to help them figure out where to put all that cash to keep it safe from Obama, while they sing, dance, and play for Obama.

My husband mentioned something about part of the stimulus going to Hollywood. Can anybody enlighten me on this? Is this really going to help? Call me clueless, but I don't get how all this money being given to these corporations is helping. Makes me a little  in the stomache actually.

How many people do you think it takes to make a movie -- go all the way down to the key grip? Again, that's jobs. Not all job creation is going to be the jobs you want them to be. There are numerous industries in this country and not everyone can build a bridge.

Another group I've heard complain are athletes. They are complaining because sales of tickets are down. Well.....I'm sorry but I think it is absolutely ridiculous that these athletes make as much as they do anyway.....maybe if they would take a pay cut and lower the ticket prices.....maybe more people could afford to go to games.
I live in Indiana and I am a Colts fan but I am thoroughly ticked that they threatened to leave Indiana unless we built them a new stadium. We built them a new stadium at the expense of the taxpayers and the Colts have sucked major butt since then. I would have told them to pack up and leave and not let the door hit them in the butt on the way out. They make WAY too much money to sit around and make demands like that. They could have easily built their own dang stadium....jerks. Just think about all those local people whose property taxes skyrocketed because the colts demanded a new stadium. I wonder how many people in the Indianapolis area lost their homes because they couldn't afford their property tax? Makes me sick.
And why in the world are the Army and the Air Force, etc. sponsoring race cars? They are pretty much taking taxpayer money to pay to sponsor vehicles that costs a butt load of money. That really chaps my ars too. ARGH!
It would seem to me that when two neighboring states governors join forces
and declare a state of emergency, that the President would have to pay attention. It's lunacy for him not to. WASHINGTON, Jan 2 (Reuters) - Rep. John Murtha, a key Democratic voice who favors pulling U.S. troops from Iraq, said in remarks airing on Monday that he would not join the U.S. military today.
A decorated Vietnam combat veteran who retired as a colonel after 37 years in the U.S. Marine Corps, Murtha told ABC News' Nightline program that Iraq absolutely was a wrong war for President George W. Bush to have launched.
Would you join (the military) today?, he was asked in an interview taped on Friday.
No, replied Murtha of Pennsylvania, the top Democrat on the House of Representatives subcommittee that oversees defense spending and one of his party's leading spokesmen on military issues.
And I think you're saying the average guy out there who's considering recruitment is justified in saying 'I don't want to serve', the interviewer continued.
Exactly right, said Murtha, who drew White House ire in November after becoming the first ranking Democrat to push for a pullout of U.S. forces from Iraq as soon as it could be done safely.
At the time, White House spokesman Scott McClellan equated Murtha's position with surrendering to terrorists.
Since then, Bush has decried the defeatism of some of his political rivals. In an unusually direct appeal, he urged Americans on Dec. 18 not to give in to despair over Iraq, insisting that we are winning despite a tougher-than-expected fight.
Murtha did not respond directly when asked whether a lack of combat experience might have affected the decision-making of Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and their former top deputies.
Let me tell you, war is a nasty business. It sears the soul, he said, choking up. And it made a difference. The shadow of those killings stay with you the rest of your life.
Asked for comment, a Defense Department spokesman, Lt. Col. John Skinner, said: We have an all-volunteer military. People are free to choose whether they serve or not.

The White House had no immediate comment.

Most of the stars who are conservative just never mention it, although I did see Kelsey Grammar on H&C and he freely admitted he was a Republican and might even think of running for office. Jeremiah Wright thing brought that into light but...if you read these posts, it IS scary. I am reminded of the Pied Piper....while I am not 100% on John McCain, cannot vote for a man whose morality is the polar opposite of my own and I feel, personally, mmoves us even further down the path of destruction. When the moral fiber of a country goes south...you figure it out. This has become a country who views killing the unborn is nothing more than a medical procedure to the tune of millions every year, an "oops" method of birth control, and many of these people are wanting to install a President who believes it is ok to put a baby who survives an abortion (it happens) in a closet alone to die, and is still able to sleep at night. Never in my lifetime would I vote for a man or woman of ANY party who would vote in favor of that. Just my two cents. And yes, he did, while he was Illinois state senator. of fresh air and I love that he inspires people. However, I would encourage all Democrats, Independents, et al, to consider Governor Bill Richardson of New Mexico. On the Democratic side, he has by far the best resume. He is a superior negotiator, served as head of the Department of Energy, sat at the UN, was an ambassador. Here is a link to his web site. The Clinton years were the worst of my adult life (and my friends and family who are staunch democrats). So we’ve actually had 16 years of garbage for Presidents (20 if you consider Bush Sr.). Government grew and paychecks shrunk. Promises broken, tax increases (with the Clinton administration). The Clintons did nothing for the middle income people. Their “1% wealthiest” friends continued to receive more benefits. Our families friends were losing their houses and had to go back to living with their parents as they could no longer afford to live anymore. I think a lot of people forget the following:

I'm sure the preacher is controversial. But for a person to maintain membership in a church for two decades, he or she cannot be supporting controversy all that time. The man seems to address past racially charged issues, some of which did go to the fact that Gosh did indeed darn America from a black perspective. It all depends upon one's point of view.
I do agree that Obama needs to speak more strongly in opposition to some of the more inflammable rhetoric Wright has used.

I've seen Obama many times in interviews (on Nightline, for example, long before he was even the presumptive Dem. nominee) and he answers questions thoughtfully and intelligently. It's funny to me that anyone would criticize his speaking ability of all things.
