Had a really busy day yesterday. The voter turnout was the largest anyone could remember in this very small area.  There was actually at some points a 30 minute wait.

In his concession speech last night I felt sorry for John McCain and it looked like Palin was about to burst into tears, I felt sorry for her as well.  What a disappointment it must have been for both of them.

I came to the board hoping to see a small amount of America starting to come together right  here but instead there is the same old nay-saying.  I truly hope this is not what is going to happen across America.  Had McCain won, I personally would have got to work seeing what I could do to support him and let him know in a LOUD voice when I didn't support him along with members of Congress.  That was the general consensus of the folks we had at our election party last night although the McCain supporters were disappointed.  Arkansas as a whole went to John McCain.

I am sad that the dire warnings continue.  As I said before, I fear what is to come more than I could possibly fear Obama's policies.  Witness the black panthers at the polling place yesterday.  The "skin heads" are just as dangerous.

Personally I think all the scare tactics cost McCain the election.

Let us all put the negative rhetoric aside and get behind the new president and give him a chance.  We survived 8 years of Bush/Cheney, certainly we will survive 4 years of Obama/Biden.  Who knows?  He may bring change we all like.  Either way, get on a first name basis with your Congressmen and women and learn the phone number and email address for the White House.  He will NOT be able to keep all his promises as John McCain would not have.  Will he lead us in the right direction?  I do not know.  I do know that the future of America is in American's hands.  We voted for change.  If we voted wrong we can change that.

I feel no great glee that Obama won but I do have hope.
