Hypocracy abounds!!!

In my town a lady has been arrested for trying to abort her unborn child by ingesting an assortment of dangerous substances, normal household cleaning agents and other substances found in every home.  Okay, I an definitely against abortion BUT if it's no big deal for those who choose abortion to go out and purposefully abort their child and this lady is trying to do the same thing only differently, what's the difference?   If she can be arrested, then shouldn't ALL mothers attempting abortion be arrested?

This is as asinine as saying abortion is okay because the fetus isn't REALLY a child but on the other hand after the Laci Peterson murder in which she was carrying a child, a law was then passed that if a woman was killed while carrying a child, that person would be charged for 2 murders, not one, because the fetus IS a child!!!

Of course, there is really no way around trying to excuse it.  If the fetus is a living thing if the mother is killed while pregnant, then isn't the fetus a living thing that deserves life, thereby abortion being murder?  So absolutely asinine the laws we pass that just contradict one another!

Hypocracy, all of them
They all do it, especially the ones that are in the same party and running against each other. Once they realize they can't win, it's all about thier candidate and how wonderful they are, blah, blah, blah. I do believe that our type of government and our voting system is the best that's out there, but I'm at least realistic enough not to trust what anyone in Washington, in the party or out of the party, says about any of the candidates. I say let thier records speak for themselves - that should be enough.
The hypocracy knows no bounds.
I particularly love the part where they point out that the dems called out Bush four years ago about the money he spent on his party during a time of war, but it's okay for them to do that and then some this time around. Not whining about it or even saying it's wrong to have the parties - just pointing out the facts. I guess it's all about whose ox is being gored.
Thoughts on hypocracy

Palin said she did not believe in abortion.  When she found she had a late-in-life Down syndrome pregnancy, she did not have an abortion.  When her daughter became pregnant SHE did not abort.  I see no hypocracy there.

As for letting the boy move in, it may have been to ensure the health and safety of Palin's daughter and grandchild.  You know how at that age you think you cannot live another second without the object of your affection?  Her daughter might have moved out, lived and delivered the child God knows where.  Maybe her daughter even threatened do do this to be with her boyfriend.

Knowing what political hay would be made of all this, Palin stood by and protected her child.  Not an ideal situation, but maybe preferable to the alternative.  I'm sure Palin would much have preferred her daughter not be knocked up out of wedlock, but presented with a done deed, not sure how most of us would have handled it. I don't see hypocracy there either.

People we love will often disappoint and/or embarrass us, and we cannot control their actions.  All we can control is how we handle the situations they present us with.  Hypocracy would have been for Palin to slip away for a secret abortion of her Down syndrome baby, or sneak her daughter out of town for the same procedure.  Or send her daughter and the boyfriend off somewhere to live incognito or, try to hide the daughter's pregnancy.

Ignorance abounds.......
I didn't vote for GW. I'm not in to all that dem/rep stuff like you obviously are. I am sick to death of paying for lazy people, while my own husband who works his butt off can't get the medication he needs because it is too expensive but those same lazy moochers can go get medical care at my expense, all paid for by Medicaid. Just because you don't like the facts, does not mean they aren't there.

It doesn't take a mental giant to see what's right in front of your face, just someone who grew up seeing it and is tired of looking at it.

Ignorance abounds
Seems like you're leading the pack!!  Do you ever work or just complain on this board all day?
The ignorance that still abounds in the US
Times change, but organized religion remains mired in the Dark Ages. And I suppose YOUR laws still claim that the world is flat. Well, just don't get too close to the edge, you might just fall off.
Unbelievable, ignorance abounds. nm
.
Very true. Ignorance abounds. Also,..sm
the rallying cry a few years ago was WWJS, what would Jesus say? My Jesus would say "get from me thou friend of satan that causes my beloved servants to suffer", do not judge them by the color of their skin or how they choose to worship. It does not matter the reason they need help. We are all human and need help in one way or another during our lifetimes. Jesus said, judge not lest you be judged. Give Obama a chance. I think that is what Jesus would want you to do.
Ignorance abounds on this board........
you obviously missed the part about your state is responsible for making its own laws, not the federal government. That's what our constitution put in place for a good reason......so GOVERNMENT COULDN'T ONCE AGAIN TAKE CONTROL!!!

Geeze........get off the government is my savior kick and get a brain!!
Former CIA Analyst Says Evidence Abounds for Impeachment

Former CIA Analyst Says Evidence Abounds for Impeachment

by Gretyl Macalaster

PORTSMOUTH - The evidence for impeachment of the president and vice president is overwhelming, former CIA analyst and daily presidential briefer Ray McGovern told a room full of people at the Portsmouth Public Library Monday night.

McGovern, who provided daily briefings for former presidents Ronald Reagan and George H. W. Bush as well as other high ranking officials during his 27 year CIA career, said he has witnessed a "prostitution of his profession" as the Bush administration lied to the American people about the evidence of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

"Don’t let anyone tell you the President was deceived by false intelligence … they knew," McGovern said.

For the next 40 minutes, he relayed a series of events leading up to 9/11 which illustrate the President’s desire to go to war with Iraq well before 9-11, that reliable CIA evidence showed that Iraq did not have weapons of mass destruction and was presented to the administration and the "facts were fixed" in order to legitimize the invasion.

"The estimate which said Iraq had weapons of mass destruction was prepared to the terms of reference laid down by Cheney in a speech on Aug. 26, 2002. It was the worst estimate of intelligence and came to the wrong conclusions, but it was designed to do that," McGovern said.

McGovern has been an outspoken commentator on intelligence-related issues since the late 1990s and since 2002 has been publicly critical of Bush’s use of government intelligence in the lead-up to the war.

The recent report detailing Iran’s stopping its nuclear weapons program four years ago, is an example of how the administration knows it can no longer hide such "incontrovertible evidence" from the American people in the fallout from the misinformation they received on the Iraq War, McGovern said. He added that he had almost given up on believing their were people still working at the top with a conscious and enough people at the top willing to let analysts do their job and accept independent analysis.

In late 2005, Congress requested an estimate on Iranian nuclear capabilities.
"My former colleagues got really good, incontrovertible evidence that the program, such as it was, has been ordered stopped since 2003. The evidence was such that not even Cheney could deny it. That’s why the report was not produced until three weeks ago," McGovern said, adding that the Bush administration has been putting "spin" on their rhetoric ever since.

McGovern also addressed the reasoning he believes is behind the threat of war with Iran. He said he believes Israel thinks they have a pledge from the White House to deal with Iran before Bush leaves office and relayed the story of the U.S.S. Liberty, which was attacked by the Israelis in 1967 and covered up by the United States. Thirty-four U.S soldiers were killed and about 170 were seriously injured.

"It seems to me, that on June, 8, 1967, Israel realized it could literally get away with murder," McGovern said.

McGovern said he also believes Congress will be of little help. Recently House Speaker Nancy Pelosi admitted to learning about torture and illegal eavesdropping in briefings, but said it was her understanding when briefed, that she will not share the information with anyone else, including other members of the House Intelligence Committee.

McGovern called Pelosi out on violating her oath to uphold the Constitution "against enemies, foreign or domestic" by allowing acts in violation of the Constitution to continue by not saying "diddly."

He added that although an impeachment bill currently in Congress is gaining more support, Democrats are shying away because of the influence of lobbies and political analysts telling them to "wait it out" until the election.

Charges in the impeachment bill sponsored by Dennis Kucinich, are very detailed and "as good as any," McGovern said, and referenced the illegal eavesdropping of American citizens. He added that the President has "admitted" to this "demonstrably impeachable offense."

"The argument for impeachment is overwhelming," Randy Kezar of Kingston said after the event. "Impeachment is constitutionally required."

McGovern’s visit was co-sponsored by NH Codepink, Seacoast Peace Response, NH Peace Action, NH American Friends Service Committee, Seacoast 9-11 Questions Group, NH Veterans for Peace and Witness for Peace-N.E.

You're absolutely right....racism abounds
And more than you choose to believe, prejudice/hate/racism abounds in the Muslim community against the United States in general, not just the Christians, as you seem to believe. They are not sitting at home singing the praises of the United States, no matter what you think!
