GAO Report indicates possible 2004 election fraud
GAO Report indicates possible election fraud
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/lyn-l...-c_b_11483.htmlPowerful Government Accountability Office report confirms key 2004 stolen election findings by Bob Fitrakis & Harvey Wasserman October 26, 2005 As a legal noose appears to be tightening around the Bush/Cheney/Rove inner circle, a shocking government report shows the floor under the legitimacy of their alleged election to the White House is crumbling.
The latest critical confirmation of key indicators that the election of 2004 was stolen comes in an extremely powerful, penetrating report from the Government Accountability Office that has gotten virtually no mainstream media coverage. The government's lead investigative agency is known for its general incorruptibility and its thorough, in-depth analyses. Its concurrence with assertions widely dismissed as conspiracy theories adds crucial new weight to the case that Team Bush has no legitimate business being in the White House. Nearly a year ago, senior Judiciary Committee Democrat John Conyers (D-MI) asked the GAO to investigate electronic voting machines as they were used during the November 2, 2004 presidential election. The request came amidst widespread complaints in Ohio and elsewhere that often shocking irregularities defined their performance. According to CNN, the U.S. House Judiciary Committee received more than 57,000 complaints following Bush's alleged re-election. Many such concerns were memorialized under oath in a series of sworn statements and affidavits in public hearings and investigations conducted in Ohio by the Free Press and other election protection organizations. The non-partisan GAO report has now found that, some of [the] concerns about electronic voting machines have been realized and have caused problems with recent elections, resulting in the loss and miscount of votes. The United States is the only major democracy that allows private partisan corporations to secretly count and tabulate the votes with proprietary non-transparent software. Rev. Jesse Jackson, among others, has asserted that public elections must not be conducted on privately-owned machines. The CEO of one of the most crucial suppliers of electronic voting machines, Warren O'Dell of Diebold, pledged before the 2004 campaign to deliver Ohio and thus the presidency to George W. Bush. Bush's official margin of victory in Ohio was just 118,775 votes out of more than 5.6 million cast. Election protection advocates argue that O'Dell's statement still stands as a clear sign of an effort, apparently successful, to steal the White House. Among other things, the GAO confirms that: 1. Some electronic voting machines did not encrypt cast ballots or system audit logs, and it was possible to alter both without being detected. In other words, the GAO now confirms that electronic voting machines provided an open door to flip an entire vote count. More than 800,000 votes were cast in Ohio on electronic voting machines, some seven times Bush's official margin of victory. 2. It was possible to alter the files that define how a ballot looks and works so that the votes for one candidate could be recorded for a different candidate. Numerous sworn statements and affidavits assert that this did happen in Ohio 2004. 3. Vendors installed uncertified versions of voting system software at the local level. 3. Falsifying election results without leaving any evidence of such an action by using altered memory cards can easily be done, according to the GAO. 4. The GAO also confirms that access to the voting network was easily compromised because not all digital recording electronic voting systems (DREs) had supervisory functions password-protected, so access to one machine provided access to the whole network. This critical finding confirms that rigging the 2004 vote did not require a widespread conspiracy but rather the cooperation of a very small number of operatives with the power to tap into the networked machines and thus change large numbers of votes at will. With 800,000 votes cast on electronic machines in Ohio, flipping the number needed to give Bush 118,775 could be easily done by just one programmer. 5. Access to the voting network was also compromised by repeated use of the same user IDs combined with easily guessed passwords. So even relatively amateur hackers could have gained access to and altered the Ohio vote tallies. 6. The locks protecting access to the system were easily picked and keys were simple to copy, meaning, again, getting into the system was an easy matter. 7. One DRE model was shown to have been networked in such a rudimentary fashion that a power failure on one machine would cause the entire network to fail, re-emphasizing the fragility of the system on which the Presidency of the United States was decided. 8. GAO identified further problems with the security protocols and background screening practices for vendor personnel, confirming still more easy access to the system. http://www.gao.gov/new.items/d05956.pdf

I was not around in the 60's, but I do condemn
ANYONE who is a terrorist. It was uncommon for things to escalate in this manner in the 60's (I am well educated). But, as you state, "The soldiers came home and were spit on by these kinds of radicals." Can you not see that it is definitely NOT rebuplican propaganda. You really make the argument for us. It is insane to think that we should excuse the behavior of hippies because they were on LSD--come on. I suppose we should forgive Barrack's drug use, as well. Judge me for what I did in my 20's. I am proud of who I was and who I became--and yes, I made mistakes, but I never terrorized anyone.
What a surprise, you don't condemn skinheads.
And, as usual, you twist my words in order to attack my posts. I wrote, *It's too bad that these *rotten apples* are making the majority of the good military look bad.*
Shame on YOU for not thinking this is horrible.
Is it just me, or is *condemn* the leftist buzzword for the day? nm

You condemn McCain for adultery....sm
yet you support a man who will allow murder of children and homosexual marriage?
Thanks for clearing that up. sheesh
You don't support it, but you don't necessarily condemn it either
If there are homosexuals being killed, it is not in this country. You just don't hear about it and the media would have a hey day with something like that. No, I don't believe it, just because you say it's happening. Proof please. I have every right to come across any way I please. Stop telling me I have no "right" to say, feel, think the way I do. I have no idea how you feel about your son or even how you handle it, so I wouldn't even begin to tell you what's going on in your life. But this is the way I feel. No, I wouldn't disown my children. However, I did do the groundwork when they were small. They knew it was wrong. They knew it would not be accepted by me or their father and maybe they had enough respect for us to do the right thing. I don't know. I do know that most kids are not taught that it's wrong, regardless of what society tells us. I do know that some kids do this to get back at their parents for different reasons. All sins can be forgiven. This is one sin that can kill you before you have a chance to be forgiven. I loved my kids enough to make sure they understood it was not only wrong, but could lead to their deaths at an earlier age. Not just HIV, AIDS but anal cancer, hepatitis C and a score of other terrible diseases. I didn't want that for for my sons. I'm not a hippocrit. But you are judgemental.
WH refuses to condemn Robertson's statement.
It's just amazing that our own President won't stand up and condemn this kind of terrorism - using the US airwaves to threaten assasination of foreign leaders, by a religious leader no less. Tough on terrorism? OK, so...when?
And yet you STILL refuse to condemn child sexual abuse!
When this was first posted, it was posted before there were separate political boards. Still, there was no response.
You people have done nothing by drive-by sniping posts for the last couple weeks, to the point where some of them had to be removed by the moderator.
Yet you're AFRAID to post outrage over child sexual abuse?
I guess we can leave it at that. You're obviously more outraged that I posted regarding this subject than you are at the subject itself.
And THAT speaks volumes.
Yes, by all means, lets condemn the religious right or for that matter religion period but ...
let's continue murdering babies by the millions. Prophecy is being fulfilled.

Ward Churchill was scheduled to speak at Hamilton College in Clinton, N.Y.on Feb. 3. His appearance was canceled by the college after he caused a public furor over his loathsome remarks about the 9/11 tragedy in New York. AIM's Grand Governing Council has been dealing with Churchill's hateful attitude and rip-off of Indian people for years.
The American Indian Movement Grand Governing Council representing the National and International leadership of the American Indian Movement once again is vehemently and emphatically repudiating and condemning the outrageous statements made by academic literary and Indian fraud, Ward Churchill in relationship to the 9/11 tragedy in New York City that claimed thousands of innocent people's lives.
Churchill's statement that these people deserved what happened to them, and calling them ''little Eichmanns,'' comparing them to Nazi war criminal Adolf Eichmann who implemented Adolf Hitler's plan to exterminate European Jews and others, should be condemned by all.
The sorry part of this is Ward Churchill has fraudulently represented himself as an Indian, and a member of the American Indian Movement, a situation that has lifted him into the position of a lecturer on Indian activism. He has used the American Indian Movement's chapter in Denver to attack the leadership of the official American Indian Movement with his misinformation and propaganda campaigns.
Ward Churchill has been masquerading as an Indian for years behind his dark glasses and beaded headband. He waves around an honorary membership card that at one time was issued to anyone by the Keetoowah Tribe of Oklahoma. Former President Bill Clinton and many others received these cards, but these cards do not qualify the holder a member of any tribe. He has deceitfully and treacherously fooled innocent and naive Indian community members in Denver, Colo., as well as many other people worldwide. Churchill does not represent, nor does he speak on behalf of the American Indian Movement.
New York's Hamilton College Kirklands Project should be aware that in their search for truth and justice, the idea that they have hired a fraud to speak on Indian activism is in itself a betrayal of their goals.

Fraud ??
This article doesn't mention fraud of any sort. We will have to see how it plays out.
Do you really want to get into campaign fraud?
You really don't want to, because the left has a corner on that market One example is the DNC registering dead people in Detroit. You know, we could tit for tat all day long about these things, but the conspiracy that elections are fixed is just that, a conspiracy.
Your energies would best be served by trying to help the the schizophrenic Democratic party finding a unified vision and an action plan other than dissing the Republicans. It's not our fault you're losing it's yours. The article you posted proves that energies are being wasted on the wrong things. But really, I don't care if you lose just so you do.
It's called fraud
I happened to get a call from the police in Arizona a few months ago. I have always lived in Ohio. It seems someone (several someones actually) had LISTS of people across the country of personal info, account numbers, passwords, email addresses, etc. pretty much everything you need, even machines to make the credit cards and license IDs. Arizona puts the fraudsters away just for having this info without your permission. Apparently they had a large fraud bust out there and they don't waste their time on proving what they did with it. YEA ARIZONA!
Joe the P is just another repub FRAUD

Voter fraud by democrats ...sm
Being a big problem is a huge myth put forth by repubs. Don't believe Fox News and the like. Just Google it. The extent of the problem has been wildly exaggerated. (I wish I could find the link I had on this because it was nonpartisan, but I didn't save it.)
Now if you want to talk about voter suppression fraud OTOH, the Repubs are experts on that. Here's one article:

Using the Department of Justice, friendly governors, and its usual propaganda outlets, the GOP has propagated the myth of voter fraud to purge the rolls of non-Republicans.

O is not under investigation for voter fraud
First of all, "voter fraud" is a bit hard to prove BEFORE the election. ACORN has been targeted by right-wingers for the past 38 years, since the day of its inception. While I do not condone it, this comes as no surprise that poverty-stricken workers who are paid by the signature and have quotas would turn in falsified statements. Barack Obama did not tell them to do that.
Nobody is swallowing anything, including your deluded ramblings. Those soup kitchen patrons, rock concert audiences and homeless are American voters with much more human dignity than you are able to display. We do not live under a Nazi fascist system. Their votes are equal to yours.
The kind of hatred you hold says a lot about you. You have a flock mentality. Original thought or ideas are beyond our grasp. It takes a lot of energy to harbor that kind of hate. Your life will be cursed until you let that go, and your campaign will be doomed to failure if you give Americans so little credit as to think that anyone in their right mind would want to join you and subscribe to such trash.
By the way, just how is McCain going to fix that pesky economic crisis you are trying so diligently to avoid acknowledging?

Food stamp fraud
Please don't think I am accusing everyone who gets public assistance of this. Many people who get the assistance really need it, and I have a friend who is an example.
But there is also a subculture involved here. People can qualify for food stamps who have undocumented income, under-the-table earnings, and even money from criminal activity. They don't actually need the food stamps to eat, but they get them.
Back when food stamps were actual coupons, there used to be a thriving black market in buying and selling food stamps for a percentage of their cash value. Then the money could be used for tobacco, alcohol, drugs and other things. Maybe the new debit card system put a stop to this, maybe not. The money goes into your account every month. All it would take is lending your card and sharing your PIN number with someone. My friend has never been asked for ID.
And if the object of this assistance is to feed (and I think by that we mean nourish) people, is it right for parents to stuff their kids full of twinkies, chips and Pepsi with the food stamp money? What the kids need is nourishment, not junk. What we end up with is another poorly nourished, hyperactive generation that cannot concentrate and learn in school, then cannot hold down an adequate job, and the cycle repeats itself.
In the county where I live, if you are on public health assistance and get pregnant you have to comply with a whole host of requirements. Parenting classes, classes on prenatal nutrition, classes on how to take care of an infant, regular checkups, drug tests, classes on contraception, etc. You should consider this a job. We are paying you to have a healthy baby, and these are your duties. Women scream about this being degrading, and an invasion of their privacy.
But honestly, if you accept the assistance, why would you assume there should be no strings? Why would you assume you don't have to jump through some hoops to get it? Do you expect to be left alone until the day of delivery, get a free stay in the hospital, and go your merry way? Can't we assume that since this is your second illegetimate pregnancy, you don't really know what's causing it? Or you forgot and need to repeat the class?
These types of assistance are supposed to be an investment society makes in improving the situation. Used properly, they can be. But often they are considered just another entitlement. *Just gimme the money and get outta my face.*
The purpose of investigating voter fraud...sm
It is not to be able to go back and forth, but to get to the core of the problems and solve them. On this board, you will see articles about voter fraud against liberal voters. That's not saying it doesn't happen on both sides, but which do you think WE are concerned about.
Stay tuned - vote fraud. sm
There are reports from polling stations from volunteers observing vote counts for Obama and Paul that state people from the Clinton camp were throwing them out. 16 precincts in Iowa are still missing. Sutton County NH reported 0 votes for Ron Paul and people coming forward to say they voted for him. I smell a rat. Paul and Obama will not get the nomination because they will not let them.

Google ACORN and voter fraud....
they have a political arm who Democrats use to register new Democratic voters. Problem is, they use illegal tactics to do so. Four under indictment in Missouri from 2006; right now Detroit is investigating voter fraud because of fraudulent registrations, all submitted by ACORN.
Obama used to be their lawyer back in Chicago. He trained their operatives during annual conventions. That is a matter of record. He failed to publish $800,000 in donations from them, recently corrected by his campaign.

I am ready to talk voter fraud with a pub
You can cry wolf 'til the cows come home on this, but it's not going to change those poll numbers except maybe in a downward direction. People are fixated on the one topic your candidate refuses to talk about. Your smear campaign is so intense that we all have smear fatigue by now and even if you could dig up any sort of legitimate attack, nobody outside the choir is listening. Don't you get that?

Illinois isn't the only state with political fraud
The U.S. Attorney brought a case against former Sen. Vince Fumo of PA. He was found guilty today of 137 counts of corruption! They are holding the bail hearing now to see if he should go straight to jail. Even the governor was supoened to testify.
Sure wish they would start an investigation against him, too, as he probably did the same things, especially with the way he takes care of only certain groups. Hope this link works.

| ALEXANDRIA, Va. A former government contractor was charged with fraud Tuesday for handing out top access ID badges in Baghdad's heavily fortified Green Zone (search) to an Iraqi girlfriend and others not entitled to have them.
Thomas N. Barnes III, 48, of Fort Worth, Texas, a former employee of contractor DynCorp (search), was arrested Tuesday morning at Dulles International Airport (search).
Barnes was freed on his own recognizance following a brief initial appearance in federal court. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Thursday. If convicted, he faces up to five years in prison.
Attempts to reach Barnes were not immediately successful Tuesday.
According to court records, Barnes produced access badges for people authorized to enter the Green Zone, where security is especially tight after militants vowed last week to launch an attack in the zone.
DynCorp administers the badge program under a $7.7 million military contract. Greg Lagana, a spokesman for the Irving, Texas, company, said Barnes was fired and withdrawn from Iraq, and the company is confident that Barnes' actions were an isolated incident.
People seeking access to the Green Zone, or International Zone, apply for a badge and undergo a security check. Applicants cleared for access then receive a badge in one of eight colors to reflect high or low-level access. |

So voter fraud in ང doesn't count?
Voter fraud of this organization is only the tip of the problem. This is a corrupt organization in so many other ways, it should be very troubling to everyone but because so many of you who want Obama in office regardless of the consequences don't even want to hear the involvements he is in, is the very reason we are on a path of ignorance.
This organization is involved in so much garbage it should be shut down altogether and probably will after the election but as long as Obama is still in the running, no democrat wants to actually go after them for obvious reasons. But even the democrats will go after them when the election is over. Many of them despise this group.

The Larman?s say they don?t want this to be about their political affiliation, but they say they?re not about to give the Obama campaign any help from their pocketbook
They said they notified Chase, their credit card bank, to report the fraud

The Larman?s don?t want their politics to enter into what is essentially just a fraudulent charge. NORTH Kansas CITY, MO. -- A North Kansas City couple has been left scratching their heads after they became the victims of a political scam.

"You always get emails saying be on the lookout," said Rachel. "So I just wanted to get the word out, that there's someone out there perpetrating this against people, and to pay attention."
The Obama campaign said they were aware of the Larman's story, but did not have any comment.

I do. Leaves the door wide open for blatant health care fraud..
Not about the election.
As I have stated before, I am pro-life, but am just appalled at the things that extremists do--on both sides of this issue. I went to my OB/GYN the other day for a prenatal exam and my 2-year-old son found a business card with pictures of bloody pieces of fetuses on it that said that anyone who has an abortion will go to...well, you get the picture. While I am not entirely sure that this is not true, I am disgusted that someone would leave such a thing lying around where small children can find it. Luckily, my son just turned two and really did not realize what it was he was seeing, but just think if an older child had found such a thing. Sometimes I think that people get in their own ways when trying to make their points. I am sure that I am guilty of this, as are many others on this board. I actually just wanted to vent a little. Hope everyone is having a good afternoon!
No way did JFK's dad buy the election

Election Day
A large group of my neighbors will be walking down the street together at 7:00 a.m. Tuesday morning to cast our votes for Barack Obama. It will probably end up being like a little block party in celebration of Obama.
No matter who wins this election, it will be a thrilling race and a shocking result!
