I think it is perfectly fine that he does not call on them. The events are for disseminating information to news organizations. Fox is only a propanganda provider who has a long history of ignoring facts and only presenting stories to inflame and engage their viewers. Therefore, if they wish to serve that function, they can gather their information to distort in the same way everyone does -- watch the news channels.
