Now THAT's the smartest thing I've read in a long time! nm
East Ohio Gas has been using natural gas to fuel their utility trucks for years - why hasn't that caught on? Makes ya wonder..............
lol.....and yet, very, very scary at the same time....lol....nm
Read quote
Rush Limbaugh quoting excerpt from article by Rick Moran:
But even a victory by 'The Laughing Goat' ( La Cabra que Ríe) couldn’t possibly gladden the hearts and warm the cockles of liberals like the prospect of celebrating…what? Well, there’s that drop in the President’s poll numbers. And then there’s…let’s see. Oh! Did I mention the drop in the President’s poll numbers? Yes, these are heady days for our left wing friends. The fact that their celebrations are taking place as a direct result of the distress, suffering, anguish and death of tens of thousands of their fellow citizens seems to not be of much concern to our morally superior betters. In fact, it has emboldened them to advance every crack pot theory on race and class that has poisoned American politics for going on forty years. One could say the left is dancing on the graves of black people, celebrating the exploitation of a political opening brought about by the incompetence of relief efforts in the largely black neighborhoods of New Orleans. Except for one thing: most of those graves are empty at the moment because the future les habitants haven’t even been plucked from the floodwaters yet.
Read a funny quote once and your post reminded me of it.
Will Rogers once said this about FDR: "The whole country is with him...If he burned down the Capitol, we would cheer and say, 'well we at least got a fire started anyhow.'"
So, there's another comparison between FDR and Obama.
That's the first time I've seen Mr. Bush
He's the man who's supposed to be in charge of this country at the present time. Blaming the individual Presidential nominees for this is ridiculous. They are one of how many? The entire gov't is responsible for it and Bush is at the top. This mess started when he was in office and he should be responsible for cleaning it up. Perhaps he should give up his salary/pension. Why should the taxpayers have to pay for the gov'tal leaders mistakes?
I think politicians should start having to carry malpractice insurance. Doctors are made to be responsible for their errors, so should the politicians.
The only time I've heard Obama
talk about religion where it concerns POLICY is with the abortion issue. In the 3rd debate he said he was pro-choice because he felt it was a moral issue, guided by religion, lack of religion, or whatever. To me this means he is (unlike McCain) inclusive of the beliefs of ALL the people, not just some or those who have the same religious beliefs.
Wow! That was the best thing I've seen in a long time
Thanks for sharing. Excellent!!!!
Excellent post - best I've seen in a long time
Thanks for posting. I really wish more people would think like this. I just want someone qualified who will do what is best for the people of the country. It's just not happening and hasn't been for some time. Forget the name calling and who started it. All I know is it's broken and needs to be fixed and this is an excellent way to fix it.
This is by far the best post I've ever read
And it's 100% true, too.
I've read too much about this package
and it will not help the people that need help. It doesn't provide help to the regular "joe's" out there that need help. It is all about the greed again. Most of it will only help regular "joe's" by the year 2011, not now. By that time, we will either be down the tubes or everything will have corrected itself on its own.
I don't think government should meddle in ways to try to turn the economy around. It only mkes it worse. Look at all the handouts in the first stimulus package. Did the regular "joe's" get any help out of it? Nope. It will be the same with this one. Did you see Glen Beck's breakdown on the package posted below? If not, I suggest you look at it or else I can post it here.
It goes to show that the democrats don't give a darn about us, just their agenda even though 11 democrats voted against it. That has to say something. Evidently, the democrats (and I don't mean this harshly) didn't get enough calls from their constiuents to knock this package into oblivion. They were in a hurry to pass it? Why? Not because it would help us, but because they wanted it passed before anyone really got a chance to see what it entailed.
Sorry, but I disagree with you whole heartedly. This will not help. It will only hurt. This will take our dollars down to zero and the next thing you know, we will be taking wheelbarrows of money to the store to buy a loaf of bread if you can even find it in the stores.
Your buddy Rush. I think I've watched his show 1 time.
Yeah, I watch the Factor and Hannity and Coombs most days. I like to see all sides of a story.
But on to Rush who I don't give a raiting point and if this is the kind of babbling he does he would lose me everytime...
"You (liberals I assume he's talking about) are offended by all that, claiming they don't have the right to make such decisions, while you sit around and make no decisions whatsoever because you're willing to totally put your life in the hands of some liberal politician and that will take you off the hook for having to make any decision about your life or anybody else's...."
How does he know that? He's making a big ASSumption. Just another right wing nut trying to convince himself and anyone else who will listen that the left has no values and that you "the people" have all of the values, are the only ones who are God fearing, raise your families and care about America. People like Rush do America a big DISservice, with this kind of garble being the #1 rated radio station there will never be any kind of unity among Americans.
"You hope we lose it. You want to lose it because you want to embarrass the leaders of the country. What must your lives be like?"
I have never met or talked to a person who said they hope we lose the war. This is nonsense. What I think most opposers of the war believe is WE SHOULD HAVE GONE TO WAR IN THE FIRST PLACE, but that we have to at least stabilize the Iraq and start an aggressive pullout plan. Iraqis have been freed of the terrible regime of Sadaam Hussein and once their country is stabilized, we have no reason to be there, you know seeing as if there are no WMDs there. Iraqi National Security is their responsibility not ours. We need to get our focus on American National Security.
That's probably the most ignorant post I've read in a while
Please consider re-reading your post and see if you truly think you have done *any* real research.
Example: Giving our money to countries (who hate us anyway)? Please give that a rest. We "give away" a pittance to countries who need it while often RAPING their resources (Africa being a great example). And we ship BILLIONS to Israel - why do they need to be subsidized by the US? THINK about it before you answer.
As a matter of fact THINK about a lot of your comments - like the ridiculous notion that we would ROB the rich to pay the poor. You clearly don't get Obama's message of empathy my friend - but more importantly your comments about this and welfare are just not FACTUAL.
When I read posts like this I am more sad than I am when I look at the current crop of corrupt politicians who want us to vote them into the whiteouse in November.
Example: Obama says he wans to stop nuclear proliferation! WHAT A JOKE. OUR #1 EXPORT is weapons of mass destruction.
How do you stop proliferation when you are the world's biggest supplier?
Best description of the Samunist I've read yet.
This post is truly one of the most digusting I've read
And there have been lots of them. "John McCain has broken up a lot of marriage?" Oh please, show me the proof. Give me the names of the marriages he broke up.
Once again another lame attempt at the liberals trying to paint an untrue picture of reality.
And can you be any more disgusting in your "glee filled" description. Anyone can make up anything and make one side look worse than the other, and that's what this looks like. Although I do have to say it's a poor attempt.
I know you think Obama is the second coming of Christ, but please don't spread your malicious rumors and lies. Is it not enough you don't like McCain and don't want him to win, that's fine and that's your perogative, but to put up an absolute piece of trash post like this shows just how low and disgusting the dems will go.
As for checking out someones butt???? You are truly a piece of work. A lot of times I will be in line and looking down towards someone's butt but it doesn't mean "I'm checking them out".
As for this post - what goes around comes around.
I've listened, watched and read
about as much as anyone and I believe the 95% applies to people who PAY taxes. Common sense.......how can you give someone a reduction in taxes who doesn't pay taxes. Nonsense.
That's the most sensible thing I've read on this board
in a looooong time. Why should somebody who works hard (or inherits) for their money have to pay more taxes than someone who makes (or inherits) less money. Everybody paying the same - that is equality.
Thank you - the wisest thing I've read yet today
I keep posting there are bad and good on both sides. Neither side is perfect. There are a lot of democrats I agree with and I think they are right on (Kucinich, Richardson, and others in the senate). Actually there are more democrats I agree with than I would rather admit to. HA HA, but there are some I absolutely do not agree with (Pelosi, Reid, Clinton and others). On the other side there are some republicans I agree with (Ron Paul and others, can't think of any others right now just cos I'm so tired) and those that I think really stink (Bush at the top of them), but unless we get on this board praising Obama and every single democrat and cut down and destroy every republican, we will get bashed over and over. I have said many times there are good and bad on both sides and if people are going to follow the group think and not think for themselves, well that's when they lose a part of their sense. My mom is a great one. I don't know how many arguments I will have with her. She hates Bush so much with such a vengence she has come right out and said what she want to happen. "He's a liar, he's this, I don't have any money because of Bush, etc, etc. But the minute I say to her If you want to talk about liars lets hit on Clinton, or lets talk about what Obama said. Ohhhh no, can't do that. I was also told by her "If you know what is good for you, you'll stop saying those bad things about him". I asked her what exactly does that mean and she said I just better watch it. Then I said to her, well how can you say what you say about Bush but I tell you I disagree about something Obama said and your ready to report me to the authorities. Funny how someone mysteriously happened to be knocking on her door at that moment and she had to leave (btw, I didn't hear anything in the background and her phone is in the halway near her front door). So unless people will admit when they are wrong there will always be arguments.
Read this closely. You've confused me with other posters.
And you jump on me like I'm the other poster(s) that you were railing about.
Geez, at least try to address the correct poster when you go on your rants.
It's very unbecoming.
Either you can't read, or you've just proved her point. Nice going.
nm
Well, I've heard and read he's a pretty rough character
much less a peace prize candidate. In all seriousness, enlighten me as to what he's done to deserve a peace prize? I can only assume it's because of his socialistic practices that seem to now be a pre-requisite for being a peace prize candidate...
If you actually took the time to read...(sm)
anything for yourself, you would find that the sources for the charts I posted are, in fact, on the images. It's called reading comprehension, studying history, looking at the facts....you know, all that stuff you guys don't like to do.
As for the text, that's all mine. It came with the education.
I won't read these articles - the last time I did so,
No thanks!
For the last time, READ THE ARTICLE.

Scary? What is scary is Obama and friends.
nm
Read the post I made above. This time it was...
Democrat greed or ignorance...I don't know which...but either way they are responsible.
Great book everyone should read at this time... SM
'The Forgotten Man' by Amity Shlaes. Explains the recession of the 20s and the depression of the 30s and how it all happened. It wasn't the fault of pubs or dems - this had never happened before and no one knew what to do. What actually got us out of the depression wasn't stimulus or tax breaks or cuts in spending - It was WWII.
It's really too bad you didn't take the time to read the entire transcript
of what William Bennett said, Democrat. But I am not surprised.
If y'all have a lot of time to read a 450 page report,
check this out. It has some interesting info: Part 1 is a synopsis and most interesting is pages 8,9,10, and 11. I got as far as Pt. 3 and there is a table of contents on the first few pages to explain everything that is in that part of the report.
"Vol. 1, Comprehensive Report of the Special Advisor to the DCI on Iraq's WMD."

Perfect time to re-read Atlas Shrugged
just sayin' fiction often predicts events.
I get amazed every time I come on this board and read "strong Christians" who consistently pas
(Didn't Jesus have something very wise and definite to say about that?), insult and degrade "heathens" if their spiritual beliefs are not EXACTLY those of the mainstream right, even though they supposedly love this country which was founded on religious freedom and tolerance for ALL; cast stones every which way (Jesus also had a lot of good stuff to say about that)....yeah, they can proclaim to know it all if they do it under the "true Christian" banner. Here is a question. If you died this second and had to defend some of these insulting inflammatory statement on this board, other than the fact of saying to Him "I was being a Christian," do you think Jesus would take that as an excuse, or would he shake his head in sadness that you really didn't get "all of the story" of the New Testament, where love, tolerance, mercy, forgiveness, and HUMILITY wer preached to all???????
Right, scary... Speaking of scary, O sure is.
nm
This is really scary.
I wonder if the Catholic *terror group* was being spied on before or after this became public. You know how truth and light are with the Bush crowd: If you expose the truth about their actions, you WILL Plamegated, Swiftboated or just generally trampled on.
This just further proves that if you're not evangelical and born again, you may as well hang it up because you simply don't count as an American any more. You don't belong either here on earth or in heaven as far as they're concerned.
They act more like the antichrist than people who follow the teachings of someone who was LOVING and TOLERANT, like Jesus.
Yes, very scary. sm
But, for now I'm still in denial, but then so were the Jews until they were being rounded up by Hitler.
That is just too scary
I heard that and thought letting them steal our money from us and feel good about it? (well I actually don't make that much, but for the people who have earned it with blood sweat and tears, and lots of hard work, since when is it right to do that to them). Since when did patriotism fall into the same category as robbery. BTW...this $250K thing? Just a short while ago it was $200K (guess they were losing too many votes so they upped the figure), but what's going to happen when they say, oh we're not getting enough money, we're going to have to steal from the people who make $150K, then $100K, etc, etc. Anyone see a pattern here? Oh and on top of that we're supposed to feel patriotic about that. Sure I'll sing the national anthem everytime I get my paycheck to find they stolen from me. That's not patriotism, that's socialism at its finest. I have been saying all along the democratic party is now the socialist party and it's coming right back to bite them. - Another little tidbit of info...Joe Biden plagerized something a socialist said word for word. I'd have to do some research on what exactly it was but I heard that on TV and also DH told me that tonight. I'm voting for McCain/Palin so I can keep as much as I can. Things are tough enough without the government stealing more from me. The democrats need to learn to stop spending!!!!! I can't wait for Sarah Palin to take the office of VP. If anyone caught part I of her interview with Sean Hannity you will understand why. She's one smart cookie when it come to economics and how to get America back on track and prosper.
She's scary.
You are very scary if you believe that. Oh my...sm
Is that what we are reduced to in this country? Doesn't a leader of the modern world need to have an education and an understanding of what it takes to guide the US in the right direction in this most difficult time. I am a hockey mom too, have a masters degree in political science and a law degree from Rutgers University. I have been very involved over the years in setting the record straight for both parties. I feel like I have contributed to cracking that ceiling for women but I am ashamed that the republican party is using Sarah Palin for their own disgusting purposes. She is neither qualified to be VP or president, and neither am I.
Scary
Have you checked out your McSaint as thoroughly? What about his hair-trigger temper for example? Have you watched the video of his exchange with the mother of the Vet still MIA in the congressional hearing? Not exactly a kindly man. What about the Palin investigation that the results of that investigation won't be released until after the election?
Could it be that if the majority of the people intend to vote for Obama (or against McCain) that the majority agree that McCain does not need to be in the White House?
I personally find McCain just as scary, if not more so, than Obama.
Yes.......scary it is........sm
allowing on of our biggest creditors to set up on our soil. Has to give you cause for pause.
Scary, huh? I think they are serious.

Want to see something REALLY scary???
Go rent the DVD "Jesus Camp." It's like watching an hour and a half of nanny-cam filled child abuse, & so creepy I had to calm myself down with some Pat Condell & Julian Jaynes.

Very scary.
Bush has done a LOT of work on this during his administration (which isn't over yet) when he could have been doing things like securing our borders. This is one of the reasons people are frightened of him and don't trust him.
I'm glad this is coming to the surface now so that Obama doesn't get blamed for all this later -- if there IS a "later."
What's scary about this is
the whack jobs who put this asinine piece together actually have followers who believe this doo-doo.
He is actually scary. What does he do in an

Yes, very, very scary! Then
being normal becomes abnormal.
Being abnormal becomes the norm.
I am for 'live and let live!' and freedom of speech!

Can't chew gum. Would've if I could've.
Even got hypnotized. Supposedly guaranteed to quit. Lasted 5 hours. Thank heavens I never smoked anything stronger.
Obama scary
I plan to vote for McCain (even though he was not my first or second choice). The main reason I think Obama is scary is (and I know I'm gonna get a lot of crap about this one) universal health coverage. I've done a lot of research and seen a lot of shows about other countries that have this program and I'm convinced that it's a great idea to have everyone covered under some sort of health insurance, but what people don't realize is that just becasue you have the insurance does not mean you'll get the care you need. Do you really want to wait three weeks to get into a doctor for a sinus infection? Yes, the system we have now is flawed in MANY ways, but I don't think universal health care is the way to go and if you as anyone from Canada, they'll tell you the same thing. The other thing that scares me is his desire to sit down and talk to leaders of countries that want to see the US blown off the map. You can call McCain a warmonger all you want, but he knows that China doesn't want to have a three day picnic and talk about how we can all get along! And just for the record, I think that even though we only have McCain and Obama to choose from, it would be a HUGE mistake not to take part in the voting process. AL Gore didn't really win that election and there are many reasons why - he did win the popluar vote altogether, but he did not win the electorial vote, which is what is takes to be elected. If he had a few more votes in just a few states, that might have swung the electorial vote his way and he would have had a win (shudder). So your vote does count - please go out and make it!
Scary logic
So you would base qualification solely on his horrific experience in the POW camp? Seriously?
McCain is truly to be admired - no doubt - and ANYone who actually said "lying in a POW camp for 5 years does not make you qualified to run a counry" is despicable.
But enduring torture (at the hands of people whose country we invaded by the way, sound familiar?)
does not and SHOULD NOT automatically grant *any*one a pass to the most powerful position on the planet. If that's as far as your thinking goes, it's just scary...
PATRIOTISM, my friend, means standing up against your government on behalf of your COUNTRY! not JUST being willing to participate in any war, any where.
And being commander in chief means to ME that the person in that position would NEVER send men/women into another Vietnam OR IRAQ - and John McCain CLEARLY would like to continue the battle in many more places - but NOT in the one place where the attackers from 9/11 originated: Saudi Arabia. THAT my friend is shameful.
scary days
I will not vote republican for multiple reasons going back to the Reagun administration and I think Palin is a joke. It's like Dubya trying to put Harriett Myers on the supreme court - WHAT!!!!! Lies? Lets talk about lies. Like being led into a war with no end in sight due to LIES. Our children being slaughtered in that country for nothing - except maybe oil. Tax cuts? I don't know about you, but I'm not in the upper 10% tax bracket, so I didn't reap any benefits from the so-called "tax breaks." Lets not forget the worst deficit this country has ever seen all due to Dubya's reckless spending. And never, never, never forget Katrina. That was genocide. Let's toss in Bill Clinton's "sexual misconduct." Hmmm.....I don't want anyone in my bedroom. That was Hillary's problem - not the country's. But we have Foley playing footsie with the congressional pages, whatshisname and his wide stance in airport bathrooms and don't forget that religious nut who was good buddies with Dubya and visited the white house on occasion that was snorting meth and having sex with a male prostitute. How's that for family values????? No child left behind? What a crock. We have been manipulated over and over by the current administration as well as by the media. They swallowed the Kool-Aid, too; until Katrina. It took that disaster to open their eyes, but they seem to have closed again. We have the patriot act, no habeas corpus and if the republicans get in again, they will line up the supreme court with their right-wing fanatics who think that everyone should abide by their MORAL rules. You cannot legislate morality. And anyone with half a brain would realize that abstinence does not WORK. Palin's daughter for example. Take away birth control, take away abortion - who's going to pay for all of these kids? The republicans aren't going to fund any programs to help them. Lets just step back 50 years and start all over again. My God! Wake up! You'll find more babies in dumpsters and illegal abortions will wend their way back into society creating more misery and death. I value my rights. I value the right to decide what is best for me. I don't think it is the right of our government to determine the outcome of my life. I guess it does take 8 years to ruin a country. Look how divisive everyone is. Voting republican is voting against your own best interests. The trickle down theory DOES NOT WORK. You will not benefit from any of these proposals - they are proposed to keep big corporations and greed on the upswing. My parents retired with good pensions - will you? My parents had great insurance that paid the WHOLE bill - do you? My mother made more money when she retired (20 years ago) than I do currently. Wages have not gone up. Gas has gone up. Groceries have gone up. The cost of living has gone up as well as insurance policies, medications. Corporate America treats its employees like slaves. There is no compassion - just greed. Vote republican and you will fall on your own sword. Bill Maher said it best "Americans are stupid and are getting stupider; they deserve the leader they elect." I am praying Obama who graduated from Harvard due to his own sweat and hard work gets elected. He wasn't born with a silver spoon in his mouth and he knows what it is like to be on the ugly end of the stick.
LOL, there's that scary word again:
'socialist' beliefs! Almost as scary as 'liberal' or 'progressive.'
If making health care affordable and/or available to people who are literally DYING because they can't afford it makes one a 'socialist' well BRAND me now!
I think youu missed the point: PEOPLE (in both parties)are easily manipulated into voting for a candidated for all the WRONG reasons.
and for the record MCBush is using 'CHANGE WE CAN TRUST...
and he will likely snag just as many nonthinkers with this slogan as Obama.
anybody who falls for EITHER lie is a schmuck. Nothing substantive is going to change in the US for a while... it takes a bit of time to stop imperialism.
