Rahm Emanuel. Headed the effort to re-elect Richard Daley mayor of Chicago...firmly entrenched in the Chicago political machine. "From work earlier in his career, Emanuel considers Mayor Richard M. Daley, Senator Paul Simon and President Bill Clinton to be his professional mentors." Could this be the shape of things to come? Doesn't give me a warm and fuzzy so far.

Obama admin. skeptical of Iran's election results.
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/06/13/official-obama-administration-skeptical-irans-election-results/
U.S. officials are casting doubt over the results of Iran's election, in which the government declared President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad the winner Saturday.
U.S. analysts find it "not credible" that challenger Mir Hossein Mousavi would have lost the balloting in his hometown or that a third candidate, Mehdi Karoubi, would have received less than 1 percent of the total vote, a senior U.S. officials told FOX News.
Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khameini apparently has released a statement calling the results "final" and hailing the election as a legitimization of the regime and its elections.
Turnout appears to have reached 82 percent, an all-time high. But when asked if the turnout figures should be considered suspect, given the "not credible" counts for Mousavi and Karoubi, the official said: "Oh, it has to be [considered suspect]."
There are already reports of violence outside Mousavi's campaign headquarters, and of huge demonstrations for both sides in central Tehran, with Mousavi trying to make his way to the one in his behalf. Even if widespread violence occurs, analysts see no prospect that this event would lead to a full-scale attempt at revolution or the toppling of the regime.
The dominant view among Obama administration officials, though not uncontested, is that the regime will look so bad as a result of whipping up Iranian hopes for democracy and then squelching them that the regime may feel compelled to show some conciliatory response to President Obama's gestures of engagement.
In addition....
They also showed a quote from Military Times that for the first time ever more soldiers oppose this war and Bush's policy than support it.
This certainly runs counter to what I read on the Conservative board but backs up what I have been hearing from the military folks that I know (they are no longer active duty).
In addition to above....
I don't know what plan B you think Clinton had for Somalia...but the fact that he turned tail and ran after they dragged the body of one of our soldiers behind a Jeep instead of acting decisively...if he had fought Al Qaeda in Somalia then...we might not be fighting them in Iraq now. Cutting and running was wrong then and it is wrong now. Wasn't going to bring this up, but it seems appropriate now:
Unintended Consequences: The Rise of Al-Qaeda.
Al-Qaeda is a transnational umbrella group that has evolved from a loose association of Islamic militants who had flocked to Afghanistan during the 1980s to join the jihad (holy war) against the Soviet occupation. 7 Following the Soviet withdrawal in 1989, many of these estimated 25,000 Arab Afghans returned home, where they fostered radical Islamic movements in many Muslim countries, including Somalia. According to U.S. intelligence reports, bin Laden sent Islamic extremists to Somalia in 1991-1992 to help the Somali Islamic radical group al-Ittihad al-Islamiya (Islamic Unity, or AIAI) to organize an armed militia, establish schools and clinics, and prepare to seize power.
One of the most grievous unintended consequences of the U.S. intervention in Somalia was that U.S. peacekeeping forces became a lightning rod for terrorist attacks from bin Laden's terrorists and their Somali allies. Al-Qaeda's first known terrorist attack against Americans was the December 1992 bombing of a hotel in Aden, Yemen, used by American soldiers en route to Somalia to participate in the relief operations. 8
Bin Laden, who lived in nearby Sudan from 1991-1996 under the protection of the radical Islamic regime in Khartoum, regarded the American humanitarian intervention in Somalia as a colonial occupation and a threat to Islam. This mirrored his hostile view of the deployment of U.S. troops to defend Saudi Arabia in 1990 after the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait. He deemed the U.S. intervention to be an intolerable occupation of his Saudi homeland and a crusade against Islam.
In 1993, bin Laden issued a fatwa (religious edict) calling for Somalis to attack U.S. forces and drive them out of the country. 9 He dispatched several lieutenants, including Mohammed Atef, who is believed to have helped plan the September 11 attacks, to help train Somalis in military and terrorist tactics.
According to U.S. officials, bin Laden spent $3 million to recruit and airlift elite veterans of the Afghan jihad to Somalia via third countries, such as Yemen and Ethiopia. 10 Several hundred foreign veterans of the Afghan jihad, expelled from Pakistan in 1993, also joined the Somali jihad after passing through Sudan. 11 Tariq Nasr Fadhli, a radical Islamic leader from Yemen who fought under bin Laden against the Soviets in Afghanistan, helped bring Yemeni mercenaries to fight in Somalia. 12
Bin Laden later claimed responsibility for the deaths of the 18 U.S. soldiers in Mogadishu. 13 In a 1997 interview with CNN, he gloated that al-Qaeda had trained and organized the Somali fighters who did the actual fighting. 14 Al-Qaeda members are suspected of teaching General Aideed's militia how to shoot down U.S. helicopters by altering the fuses of rocket-propelled grenades so that they exploded in mid-air. 15 This tactic, developed by the Afghan mujahideen (holy warriors) in their war against the Soviets, was the same one al-Qaeda forces used to bring down two U.S. helicopters near Gardez, Afghanistan, during Operation Anaconda in early March 2002.
Triumph Against U.S. in 1993 Stokes Bin Laden's Ambitions.
The ignominious collapse of the U.S. peacekeeping mission in Somalia after October 1993 undoubtedly led bin Laden to conclude that you go kill a few Americans and they go away, as one expert described it. 16 This also reinforced his contempt for American staying power and fueled his ambitions to use terrorism to drive American influence out of the Muslim world: If the deaths of 18 soldiers could cause the withdrawal of 25,000 U.S. troops from Somalia, bin Laden had reason to believe that killing more Americans could lead to a similar pullout from Saudi Arabia.
Al-Qaeda terrorists are suspected of involvement in a series of increasingly ambitious terrorist bombings that killed five U.S. military advisers in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in 1995; 19 U.S. military personnel at the Khobar Towers housing complex in Saudi Arabia in 1996; and 224 people, including 12 Americans, in the simultaneous bombings of the U.S. embassies in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and Nairobi, Kenya, in 1998. The embassy bombings took place on August 7, the anniversary of the first deployment of U.S. troops to Saudi Arabia in response to the August 2, 1990, Iraqi invasion of Kuwait. According to U.S. intelligence, al-Qaeda used Somalia as a regional base of operations, including preparations for the 1998 embassy bombings. 17 Some of the members of the same Kenya-based al-Qaeda cell that helped train Somalis to kill U.S. soldiers in 1993 went on to carry out the bombing of the U.S. embassy in Nairobi. 18
Bin Laden's victory in Somalia also helped radicalize Somali Islamists. Although Somalia's AIAI was formed in the late 1980s as a fundamentalist Islamic social-political movement, it evolved into a revolutionary Islamic force with (1) the return of a sprinkling of Somali veterans of the Afghan jihad, (2) bin Laden's radical influence, and (3) Sudanese support. It sought to build an Islamic state that would be governed by Sharia (Islamic law).
So, if you look at that honestly...Bush is just trying to clean up the mess Bill Clinton left. If he had acted decisively in Somalia (and my husband was in Somalia shortly after Blackhawk Down happened...I know whereof I speak)...perhaps this could have all been avoided. I believe it most assuredly could have. And it proves that if you cut and run Al Qaeda does not go away. They get stronger. The left got us where we are now...and are famous for cutting and running and leaving innocents dangling in the breeze, while all the time professing compassion for the poor and downtrodden. Perhaps you can understand my confusion now. The left gives Clinton a total pass and wants to blame Bush for ... again... trying to clean up the mess Bill left and trying to turn the tide. If Bill had acted differently in Somalia perhaps we could have avoided 9-11 as well. The facts seem to lean in that direction. ANything that Bush has done regarding Iraq pales in comparision to what Clinton did in cutting and running from Somalia in my opinion. I have known all this since Somalia...yet when that same Bill Clinton showed up in OKC after the Murrah building bombing, the first thing that came to my mind was that I was happy that he had come, that the President was there. I did not question why he did not go to the funerals of the 18 soldiers killed in Mogadishu or that he ran like a coward and emboldened the enemy. I understood why he came and took him at face value. I guess that is the difference in you and me.
LOL...In addition to that...(sm)
they need to stick a camera up to every one of them and let the explain to people all over the country why they were so willing to put so many people out of a job.
In addition to the relationships
I referred to in my other post, the fact that I lived in the region and worked with refugees both here and over there, my info comes from all over the place because I make a concerted effort to educate myself on these issues, especially the history of the region, its political parties and the constant interference it has had to withstand from the West for the past 100 years or so. The only thing you suppposedly "know" about who is supporting "these terrorists" is what you are told by a skewed one-sided press that has done nothing but promote and serve the government's agenda when it comes to Israel.
I gave you several logical reasons based on well-known facts that mitigate against the idea that Iran smuggles arms to Hamas. If you knew anything about the occupation and about the relationships of the parties, you would know how logistically impossible that notion is. If you are referring to Hamas instead of Iran (hard to tell by the way you phrased your post), then what you are trying to say is even more absurd and AGAIN is nothing more than a regurgitation of what the media is feeding you.
Hamas are citizens of Gaza themselves and they live in a place that is the 6th most densely populated area in the world. There are 10,792 Gazans per square mile with a total area of only 139 square miles. It is blockaded by land and sea by Israel. There is no exit from the place and there is no way Hamas can NOT live among its own fellow citizens, who by the way, elected them to office in a democratic process, hold them in high regard and recognize them as their representatives. They are hardly embedding or hiding themselves anywhere. They live there, for heaven's sake.
Now whose putting words in whose mouth? I know no such thing and agree with nothing you have said here. You also have no idea how I feel about my country or my fellow Americans. I will not hesitate to say that I think the US policy on Israel is ignorant, barbaric, self-serving and has really very little to do with support of Israel or her people. That makes it hypocritical as well, and I really do not like it one bit when my own government lies to me, which it constantly does about Israel. I also have fairly hostile feelings toward anyone who supports this terrorist apartheid state and turns a blind eye to the human abuses there and to the fact that the only terrorists breeding terrorism there are the Israelis and their benefactors.
As a real American, who is patriotic enough to care about what this country has become, and especially how it's better side has been so eroded by the Bush years, I get to say those things, think those things and still be considered your fellow citizen. Like the Palestinians, I am not going anywhere and your little love it or leave it mantra and your fellow choir members who chant it ad nauseum are nearing extinction, so I'll pass on any further time-consuming comment on that one.
Great idea, with just one addition:
Those who insist on not using the new board for its purpose and instead continue to do what they've been doing should receive some sort of sanction, maybe permanent banning, I don't know.
It seems another problem is that when THEY say something, it's not bashing, whereas ANYTHING we say is bashing as far as they're concerned. I truly believe that a few misguided souls on this board truly don't believe they are doing anything wrong. They are incapable of being objective, feel everything they say is fine, and if someone gets fed up and gives them a taste of their own medicine, they claim they're being attacked.
You could be the Virgin Mary incarnate, and if you dare to express your honest opinion on this board and do not blindly follow and worship Bush, then you're automatically a vile person. Some days ago, Democrat invited one of them to offer a topic for debate, but that has yet to happen. Instead, the poster has, 100% of the time, chosen to bash other posters.
It's a great idea, GT, but the more I think about it, they aren't happy unless they can disrupt others who try to pursue intelligent, worthwhile, tolerant discussion. They tell us to leave the conservative board and stay on our own board, and when we do and there isn't any more fighting on their board, they come here and start because they HAVE to have their fix of liberal bashing for the day. The more I see it, the more it looks like a sick, twisted addiction.
I've made a list, and, unfortunately, it seems to be growing every day. The ones who only want to insult and bash don't get a response from me any more. In fact, I've stopped reading their posts because I already know it's more bashing, so it's a huge waste of time.
As far as ownership of the board, there just might be a new owner, because they no longer seem to favor one group of posters over another group as much, as seemed to be the case before.
But, hey, I'd love to be able to discuss issues in a friendly, respectful manner, and I'm in favor of anything that could promote that!
Yes, with an addition that I hope anyone reading this...
will look at the entire thread, and a little foray into the archives would not go amiss either. I think the totality of the posts should speak volumes.
Have a good day, Teddy.

Socialist Democrats Running the Show: Proposed Abolition of 401(k) Tax Break
October 24, 2008
The Democrat Party may attack peoples 401 k investments in favor of a compulsory pension plan administered by the bankrupt, insolvent, Social Security Administration. All the volatility on Wall Street has given the democrats a chance to exploit that volatility to being nationalizing retirement funds and forcing self administered retirement savings out of business. As buzzards circle a carcass in the desert so the Democrats are circling over the financial turmoil to seize wealth and remake the financial system according to their ideological strictures. Once again the Nanny State Democrats will penalize the people who saved and did it right to create a terrible program for everyone. Even in a full blown depression I would rather have control of my retirement funds and keep the bankrupt Ssocial Security Administration out of my affairs. Consider the following excerpts from the Investment News: http://www.investmentnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20081012/REG/310139971&template=printart
Powerful House Democrats are eyeing proposals to overhaul the nation’s $3 trillion 401(k) system, including the elimination of most of the $80 billion in annual tax breaks that 401(k) investors receive.
House Education and Labor Committee Chairman George Miller, D-Calif., and Rep. Jim McDermott, D-Wash., chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee’s Subcommittee on Income Security and Family Support, are looking at redirecting those tax breaks to a new system of guaranteed retirement accounts to which all workers would be obliged to contribute
Under Ms. Ghilarducci’s plan, all workers would receive a $600 annual inflation-adjusted subsidy from the U.S. government but would be required to invest 5% of their pay into a guaranteed retirement account administered by the Social Security Administration. The money in turn would be invested in special government bonds that would pay 3% a year, adjusted for inflation.
The current system of providing tax breaks on 401(k) contributions and earnings would be eliminated.
“I want to stop the federal subsidy of 401(k)s,” Ms. Ghilarducci said in an interview. “401(k)s can continue to exist, but they won’t have the benefit of the subsidy of the tax break.”
Under the current 401(k) system, investors are charged relatively high retail fees, Ms. Ghilarducci said.
“I want to spend our nation’s dollar for retirement security better. Everybody would now be covered” if the plan were adopted, Ms. Ghilarducci said.
It would seem that we’re returning to the bad old days of elaborate structures to keep the government from confiscatory orgies of taxation in which people have to fight for any tax shelters they can find. I have sufficient faith in the fundamental corruption of the Democrat Party to believe that they’ll always have loopholes, for those in the know, to shelter money from their insatiable appetite for your money. Government has become the adversary of success and if you want to get ahead and have a life you’ll have to evade the Obama/ Pelosi/ Reid Politburo. Consider the following excerpts from an outstanding article at Forbs.com: http://www.forbes.com/2008/10/24/barack-obama-law-ent-law-cx_rb_1023robertbovarnickobama_print.html
In certain unscripted moments, Obama has given us a glimpse of his somewhat socialist leanings.
Couple that with the recent pronouncement of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who has pushed to implement a $300 billion stimulus package–on top of the $700 billion financial rescue package and the $800 billion of additional proposed spending under an Obama presidency–and you can see where we are headed.
I would encourage you to click on the above link for an outstanding story but I’ll give you some of the highlights: Obama will eliminate the statute of limitations on discrimination suits further miring the United States in litigation and class warfare that we can ill afford. He’s going to hit small businesses with massive new taxes, a “global poverty initiative” that will function like a UN payroll tax on Americans, Regulation of the Internet and more. There are 10 area’s where the author of the article, a Philadelphia Lawyer, figures Obama will well and truly screw up the country. We’re talking fundamental changes that will be our undoing in the end.
If the changes the Democrats are talking about are enacted in mass; our American Experiment will be over because we’ll be France. Further, I suspect that Obama will embrace the new push for global financial regulation and institutions that will be disastrous for the American economy for the foreseeable future. It should prove interesting to watch the stock market contemplate an Obama Presidency in the days to come because I have doubts that we can survive the credible threat of his winning to say nothing of enacting his ambitious social agenda.
We’re already in deep financial trouble that’s likely to last years but if we elect a real socialist to empower trial lawyers, hate crimes, UN taxes, and national health care we’re finished as a country. Government under Obama will simply take over everything and reward those who blindly go along with the program and sanction those with any initiative at all. The worst of all is that it seems that we’re ready to vote in this Orwellian world on November 4th. We’re poised, as a nation, to make the biggest mistake of our national lives and the cost in blood and treasure is likely to be enormous.
Check out the above articles: they’re well worth the time. The Government is not supposed to be our master in this country but it seems that too many of us have forgotten. Its going to make for a somber thanksgiving as we mark the passing of our greatest traditions of the American Spirit and the American System with barely a whimper. God help us and God help the United States of America.

Yes, Bush proposed a bailout....
the majority democratic congress rejected HIS and made one of their own...you don't remember all the haggling back and forth? Bush by himself couldn't have done squat. Actually more republicans were against it than democrats and got castigated for stalling the bill that was going to save us all. Then the dems had to add a little pork into it (money for wooden arrows and some such) before it finally passed. However, if Chris Dodd (D) chair of banking and finance committees and Barney Frank (D) in the House had not blocked EVERY attempt by Bush and yes, John McCain, to regulate Fannie and Freddie it would be a moot point, because we would NOT BE in this mess. Whatever else Bush has done, he had NOTHING to do with this economic crisis. That was all Dems, all the time, to make sure every american whether you could afford one or not got into a house.
I think part of the proposed plan...
(or it may be a separate bill) is supposed to make then *re-tool* in order to make them more fuel efficient?
This is about a protest to a proposed change - it happens. - nm

Hillary's proposed healthcare system?
When I was watching Hillary say *I will fight the drug companies and insurance companies* I responded *You took $800,000 in donations from those people! And you are going to fight them?!*
Remember that Punjab article we saw months ago about her? Well, here it is below but remember it is in ADOBE PDF format (very easy to read that way though)....
http://graphics8.nytimes.com/packages/pdf/politics/memo1.pdf
be VERY CAREFUL if you're thinking about Hillary......please....
I'm very pro-woman (am one myself) but just because it has the same body parts doesn't mean I'm voting for them.........loved Bill but truly have had enough of the Clintons to last a couple of lifetimes....
This admin. doesn't ALLOW itself to be put on trial.
What a copout! - it's only accusations! And that's all it's ever likely to be because this administration with the help of its corrupt and partisan congressional majority simply refuses to allow any independent inquiry into its crooked dealings. Let's not pretend that we actually have a balance of power in the federal govt. sufficient to allow normal due process to occur. So go on with your just accusations simpering - try these crimes in an international court and see how long they stay that way.
You have 3 jobs because the former admin. rewards
driving MT wages down. If US MT's were the company's first choice of employees, and not their last, maybe you & the rest of us would have one, regular 40-hour a week job with health insurance and paid vacations once again. Don't you miss having a day off once in a while? Being able to afford fresh bread instead of day-old? And believing that your work actually made a difference? 'Cause it sure doesn't now. That's why you're working 3 jobs. Because you have to. Not because MT is such an enjoyable and rewarding profession that you just cant get enough of it.
On the contrary, it indicts the Bush admin...
...just as much as their refusal to listen to warnings from the outgoing Clinton administration about Al Qaeda, and just as much as Bush's initial refusal to appoint a 9/11 commission at all. It's totally consistent with the belief that they have tried to block any serious investigation into the events of 9/11 (and silence anyone who could shed some light on it). Business as usual for them! I'm glad that crappy hand-picked group of power suckups have all been caught with their pants down. If the MSM is ignoring the story at all it's not because it puts Clinton (you know, the one who actually caught and jailed real terrorists who were responsible for attacks right here in the US)in a bad light - if a story gets ignored these days it's because it has the potential to shame Bush further. If that's possible.
Admin...we have someone codoning terror on this board
Absolutely! If you want 8 more years of the Bush Admin! nm

We must remedy this. If the next administration does not at least investigate here, they too are complicit.
Opinions on Hillary's proposed health care system?
Personally, I'm against mandatory health insurance laws. Look how mandatory auto insurance goes - you buy the cheapest policy because you can't afford the good ones. Your policy covers squat, but you're legal. I'm concerned the "affordable" health insurance she wants to force us to buy will turn into the same thing - a crap policy that covers nothing but keeps you legal. Does anybody else feel like I do about this?
proposed tax policies which include granting rebates to most US workers.
That statement jumped out at me.
...and he proposed that if Americans won't buy "stuff" to stimulate the world economy -
the Chinese will have to spend money. Obviously, he didn't read the article about peasants in China fleeing the cities due to the loss of 20 million jobs. WUTTA BUZZOO!!
I doubt Colin Powell would ever speak out against this admin.
It's not in his nature to be a whistle blower.
I will say though I have ALWAYS admired him, before he joined the Bush admin. I had great respect for him; in fact, when I learned that he was a republican I was surprised. I felt we had a lot in common politically. While I am a democrat, I consider myself an independent thinker and do not always vote a straight democratic ticket.
I still had respect for him though as sec of state in Bush's admin. It did turn my stomach though when he made the case for this war, I felt he was either being lied to and was falling for it or felt he had to support it because of his political affiliation.
If you've ever heard him speak publically, he's very down to earth and nonpolitical in his nature. Much to be admired still in this man.
you must be referring to the previous admin. - GW didn't like to read much......
he did miss that memo about an impending attack on our country using our own private airlines..........Boy wonder? Must be referring to his super hero underwear.
We lost our freedom with the last admin. - wire tapping, Patriot Act, etc....nm

Obama was cool, while grouchy man steamed. Obama!!!

If Obama gets elected, then it was meant to be! Go, Obama!

Go Obama/Biden! I don't like it and will VOTE OBAMA/BIDEN!
Obama has shown great judgment in the people who surround him. He picked a great VP choice, and his wife is impeccable as a helpmate and is a fantastic role model for the American children.
Obama
I believe Obama has an awesome political future. He sure is a bright light, and he would be someone I would seriously consider voting for.
Someone I like even better is Rep. Harold Ford from Tennessee. Every time I hear this man speak, I like him more and more and more.
I think there are lots of good candidates out there who don't fit the profiles you outlined, which I also believe to be true, and I think we're well overdue in considering those candidates because, in my opinion, what we've been offered in the last several elections -- on BOTH sides -- has been pretty pitiful. The "box" isn't working, and it's time to look outside of it.
Obama is the man!!!
I think he will make an excellent president some day. Maybe Hillary/Obama would be a good ticket choice.
obama
FYI - he never attended a midrasha. This was later corrected.
Obama 08...nm
Obama et. al.
If we get Obama or any of the other candidates we will get more of the same. War and taxes. Empire building. If you like that kind of stuff, vote for any of the candidates EXCEPT.......... RON PAUL. The only candidate for peace, limited government and minding our own business.
Obama
As I posted on the other board, it is crazy that in one breath people are freaking out saying he is a Muslim, and in the next one, they are freaking out because of his stand on abortion. Being pro-choice really does not go with being a Muslim.
I like Obama, and I like his stance on choice. I really could care less if he is a Muslim. But, he belongs to a Christian church and has for over 20 years, before he had a political career.
People never cease to amaze me!
Obama
My husband just returned from Iraq, we support the war-- but if I had to vote democrat, definitely Obama, please!! But I vote republican, hee hee.
Go Obama!
What a great victory for Obama!
Did anyone see the Kennedy’s endorsement for Obama and his speech this morning? I have never been more excited and inspired in politics. In my life I’ve voted both sides (usually not voting for a candidate but rather voting for the other side as a vote against a candidate). I usually tune out in politics because of outright lies. Barack is the first candidate that I finally understand what he stands for, what his plans are, and he is someone who can connect with everyone in every walk of life. He is a trustworthy, inspiring, and humble person and his voting record and other aspects of his government life give me the confidence that he would be a great president. Listening to his speeches gives me hope for a better country/future for everyone.
I respect everyone’s choice for who they think would be a better president, but I’m sick to death of Clinton and what she stands for. All you have to do is read up on the history of her and what she did when she resided in Oakland California (who her mentors/ colleagues were and what her motives/plans are). She claims to have all this “experience” but doesn’t have it. She takes what her husband accomplished and if it was something good she claims credit to it and if it was bad she had nothing to do with it. Meanwhile her husband is so consumed/greedy (not sure which word best suits him – maybe consumed with greed) to get back into the white house that he is purposely destroying the opponents (even Ted Kennedy had to call and admonish him), but that is the Clinton legacy, destroying other people’s lives. Then when someone does call him on something he will point his finger at them in a threatening way and plays the victim role. It makes me ill just thinking of having someone as corrupt as both of them back in the white house.
If Bill was such a great president they should bring up all the great things that happened under his presidency, but we are not hearing any of it, why? Because there is none. In my opinion he was one of the worst presidents in history. Not one thing he did was for the good of the country. And if anyone believes that she was such a “good wife” while he was out messing around with other women think again. She had her mind set on being president a long time ago. She just uses him to get what she wants. Everything she does has always been calculated.
As for his presidency, I think people are forgetting….he lied under oath and he was impeached for it. Which brings me to another question…why does anyone believe anything he has to say now? Remember the phrase “that all depends on what the meaning of is, is”. Then there was Waco Texas – people were burned alive. But they called them members of a cult, so I guess that made it okay. Then let’s see…Somalia, Bosnia, Monica (and no it wasn’t just about having an affair with her or all the other women), receiving illegal contributions, Vince Foster, and the list goes on and on and on.
An article I just read said it better than I can….
“The problem for Hillary Clinton is that, as usual, she wants it both ways. She wants to be judged on her own merits and not be treated as Bill's Mini-Me. But she also wants to reap the benefits of Bill's popularity, and offers voters the reassuring suggestion that if there's a crisis while she's in the White House, there will be someone around who really does have executive branch experience - namely, Bill - to lend a hand. But the Clintons are playing a dangerous game. The more they remind us of what we liked about Act I of the Bill and Hillary Show, the more they also remind us of what we hated.

He would be better than the one that has been there for 8 years. No matter who is elected, it will take a long time to fix what Bush as screwed up!
<3 Obama too!!
:)
Obama
If she keeps lying from today until November she might actually catch up with Obama!
Go Obama
Haven't seen any posts here for awhile. Very excited about the outcome of tonight's election. I am so glad to see that people are not buying the "gimmicks" Hillary proposed. Gas tax holiday?...give me a break! Someone needed to ask her, "So what happens when the holiday is over", you charge back up the gas price!
The big joke is that Bill Clinton raised the gas tax in his first year in office. It was included in a package of tax increases that amounted to the biggest tax increase in history. It was raised by 4.3 cents. Not only did he raise the gas tax, but he wanted to raise it even higher.
So you should all get this straight...Hillary is "claiming" she would give drivers 3 whole months (wow - imagine that) 18 cent a gallon cut after her husband forced drivers to pay an extra 5 cents for 15 years.
Unfortunately there were some people who bought into her pandering (which by the way is another word for lying), but thank goodness enough people with an education and most important most of the with common sense could see right through her lies.
Way to go North Carolina - I'm so pleased. And Indiana too. It was a close race thank goodness.
Now she needs to step down. Why? Because its the right thing to do. Do the numbers. There is no way she can win and anyone who believes so needs to wake up. What we need is for her to support Barack Obama (that is if she's telling the truth about the most important thing is nominating a democrat for president). Somehow though I do not believe she has the best interest of the party or the american people in mind. Her goal is to serve herself. She needs to graciously bow out and put all her efforts into getting a democrat in the office.
P.S. - Note to the "ditto heads". Maybe we should rename Limbaugh followers "dumbo heads". Not only did your little plan fail Mr. Limbo, but it failed badly. In a poll taken (and yes I know polls can be misleading), but not only did the republicans change parties to vote for a democrat but the majority of them voted for Obama. Then on top of that over 75% of republicans that voted as democrats said that Obama could be McCain (or as I am hearing him being referred to as McBush), but only around 25% said they believed Hillary could win. So not only does Hillary need to do the math, so does Mr. Limbo.

Is Barack Hussein Obama the Antichrist? http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=94d_1202965504
I am for Obama because...
My point in fact is agreeing with the republicans in that Obama does not have a lot of experience - I think not having a lot of experience is a good thing because it means he is not "hand-in-hand" with all the people that have been in charge for so long - he can form his own opinions, make his own decisions, and not go with somebody just because they did this or that for somebody or they contributed this or that to somebody...
No, Obama gets it better than many do

Most people at that time (myself included) said that question was irrelavant, but understanding why they some have those attitudes helps us understand better what the U.S. can do to help change it. The fringe extremists will never go away, but their support by the general Muslim community as a whole will diminish (and already is). Free markets and capitalism would go a long way toward this goal and I think Obama gets that.
obama wants to be GOD
He wants to change the structure of the U.S. and he wants to bargain with and change the structure of Europe.. He is a destroyer.
obama
Muslims are dedicated to destroying the US from within. Obama is Muslim.
