a depression was coming before the stimulus package came about. That's the point of the stimulus package -- to avoid a depression. As far as jobs, not everything in the bill is about construction. Here's where it gets fun. Everyone has been screaming about pet projects in this thing, but a lot of those pet projects are things that will provide jobs for those who are not in construction like things that pertain to healthcare, eductation, etc.
