exactly what IMHO is talking about. I've seen plenty of your nasty messages and after this one (which is one of your calmest messages), I haven't opened or read your messages for over a week or so.

yes, I too am sick of both sides blaming the other, however, your posting to the original poster shows me what side you are on. Why didn't you post separately and call out both sides?
It is true...this board used to be a place where people could share information, but over the past weeks to months its been a lot of bickering and name calling. Then I guess people feel like starting a fight or something so they'll post a messages cutting down a party and not an issue. We are tired of being ridiculed because we don't mimick the party line.
There are some major issues out there but dare anyone to say anything and they are cut down by the liberals and then these weird messages about how the "pubs" are this or that, and it's usually pretty nasty.
It's similar to yelling fire in a crowded theater when there is none and then when your called on it you whine even more that you are being picked on.
I'd still like to know how in the world it actually gives people pleasure and joy to cut others down because they have a difference of opinions. People should respect others feelings and realize the country is made up of a diverse range of people who have many different ways of thinking. Depending on what is going on in each individuals lives determines how they feel towards certain issues. It doesn't make one side or the other right or wrong, and this elitist attitude of I'm better than you are because I'm a liberal or vice versa is a real turn off.
So I don't blame you for leaving the board. Lately I have not been coming for these reasons. But your post would have better been served as an individual post rather than opposing the OP. It goes to show which side you are on.
I've posted before about people need to stop attacking others because they don't share the same opinion, but that goes un-noticed and the next time I come I see messages like pubs are a dying breed, or pubs are hogging the board, or pubs this, pubs that. All to try and belittle and start a fight. Why does it give people such pleasure to hurt others feelings.
That's just incomprehensible to me, but guess that's why I'm an independent. I gave up the hateful, spiteful, and bitter attitude when I turned of the liberal stations and started thinking for myself.

This breaking news just in....religion and politics are only as "intricately intertwined" as the secular among us allow it to be. There seems to be a consensus in America as there is in other western nations that the two do not mix well and certainly are not conducive to democratic process. I am neither atheist, agnostic or Christian, but I do consider myself to be a spiritual person of Universalist faith. I count myself among the secular citizens who will fight tooth and nail to keep religion out of politics and out of the government. There is a place for it in our society and in our lives...churches, synagogues, mosques, temples our homes and in our psyches. Why is that not enough for the theocrats? I always split my ticket and I usually voted for him, but no more. I don't care what party anyone is affiliated with; but, to me, he is a traitor and that's someone else who is not needed in the Senate.

I hate to butt in but one story seen on the news and
really scared me was when Obama was in Germany and a German citizen stated, "He's the new Messiah." This was on the evening news when he was on his around the world blitz. He really had no reason to do all that traveling as if he was already the President. What was he trying to prove??? That he can charm the world? It won't work if he becomes President.

Wow, usually people that work in the same industry find a common kinship and are very supportive of each other. Sadly, I don't feel any kinship with a lot of these people. In fact, I go out of my way to avoid people like this because their joy is killing other people's joy and that's a "disease" I just don't want to catch!
