I'd like to know WHY these incompetent CEOs
still have JOBS!? Why aren't they in the unemployment lines? You know why...they had to put the US/world in financial crisis in order to facilitate their agenda.
Did they ask the stockholders, CEOs and mgmt
to take a 10% cut in dividends, salaries, bonuses and parachutes?

PRIVATE Lear jets to ask for a bailout. Proof positive that those people don't have a clue how to run a successful business, which is why the auto industry is now failing.
I don't want to see them get a penny only to squander it. Before I'd give a thumbs-up to any kind of a bailout, they need to:
a) SELL the jets.
b) Redesign, retool, and get out of bed with the oil industry, so they can get us independent of fossil fuels. If they had used their brains, and built cars that were equal to or better than the foreign manufacturers in quality, safety, and efficiency, they wouldn't be in this pickle. But no, they wanted their big profits NOW, and screw the future. Well, the future has now come and bit them in the behind.
c) Part of the retooling process should include dumping the CEOs (who are obviously worthless) and all upper management. The average Joe line-assemblyman could probably run those companies better than the fat-cat CEO's have been doing.
Too bad the cap only applies to TARP funded CEOs.
ANY CEO should be making more salary than the POTUS and that any compensation beyond that amount should be directly related to the success of the company, i.e. commissions, profit percentage, stock dividends, etc. I also believe stockholders should have more control of their salaries, benefits, bonuses and any other perks.
Oh, those poor, poverty stricken CEOs. I really feel for them all.
How DO they survive???

while the company disintegrates, faithful workers pensions and futures are taken away, and they basically rape the company for all it is worth, to he!! with the workers who made the company prosperous! In my mind, it is the same mindset---ENTITLEMENT. Get as much as you can as fast as you can and screw everyone else! FDR DID devise welfare as a safety net so families would not starve to death in desperate economic times, it was never meant to be a career or a way of life, we as a country have looked the other way, as with the illegal alien problem, far too long and must make sure our legislators DO something about it OR GET OUT!

with one stone here. Obviously those who were too poor to get out of the city are going to be too poor to get back in, never mind rebuilding. They have been spread out over the country which does break down the democratic voting base, turning LA into a Republican state. Also the vulture developers can build condo upon condo starting at about the half million mark and the sky's the limit. It's was a perfect storm, got rid of the poor, the blacks, i.e, the strongly Democratic base and it allows the rich to come on down, build their gated communities, vote Republican and keep the riff raff out.

If you feel the country is dying, cast that upon the previous administration, who handed Obama a 'flat lined' country and now you gripe about Obama because he hasn't fixed 8 years of malignant policies in 4 months?

I overheard a conversation last night in a store. A woman was complaining of gas prices and said she didn't know if she'd be able to afford to heat her home this winter. Another woman told her about Jessie Jackson and his visit to Chavez and Chavez' offer to help low-income Americans with heating fuel.
This woman (who reminded me very much of some of you who post here, always in attack mode) said she and her children would FREEZE before she'd take any welfare from a communist. She then went on a tirade about the kind of people who receive welfare (not fit to print on a public forum like this). I was shocked, and the first three things that popped in my mind were Jim Jones, David Koresh and PEOPLE LIKE YOU.

Supposedly if the insurgents lay down their arms and come over to the good side they will be allowed amnesty. Info leaked from Iraqi prime minister, al-Maliki, office that he was considering giving amnesty to insurgents and terrorist who have not killed Iraqi citizens. His office later added US soldiers into the equation.
Supporters of said amnesty believe it will lead to further isolating the *bad* terrorist and be inclusive of the *good* terrorist, allowing them become a functioning part of the new Iraq. Bring them over to the good side so to speak.

The vice president who has stated "I have not thought much about foreign policy" (despite having HER OWN SON going to Iraq soon) has to make a crucial decision that does not involve a rogue moose, her brother-in-law's behavior, or what to wear at a beauty pageant. Scary. Since she has not thought much about foreign policy, what group of Washington people are going to be instructing her on foreign policy soon? The Karl Rove group who is advising them on all issues. If you have enjoyed the last 8 years, you're gonna l-o-v-e the next 4 if McCain wins.

mind. If you are curous as to what he studied, you can look that up. Why ask some stranger to get that info for you? He was a constitutional law professor, but as for specific classes, I don't know. I like him for his ideas, his honesty, his humor, his obvious love for his family, his unique time spent in both the black and white communities. His past has been thoroughly reviewed and shows only integrity. The fact that he is attacked only for people he has known actually shows me that he has an immaculate record. I don't know many who could stand up to that kind of scrutiny. I think he is a once-in-a-lifetime leader - he has the ability to inspire and the humbleness to listen to different views about issues along with a brillant intellect. His life shows his principals and I can find not one false note. That is my opinion of him. I am sure to be attacked over silly stuff for this post, but I can give it right back, so that's okay.

I want him to make sure that the
US is the leader in development of alternative energy sources. This would solve so many problems in one fell swoop: Creating new industries thereby creating thousands of new jobs, address the global warming issue, helping us move away from our addiction to fossil fuels and foreign oil. If the US would come out as a leader in this, then many other nations would follow. He also stated that our infrastructure was in sore need of updating, that our power grid in this country is one of our major weaknesses making us more vulnerable to terrorist attacks. I have never heard anyone else address this issue. Makes so much sense!

It does make you wonder whose
butt the big liberal news is trying to kiss today. Those numbers are continually tossed around and no one bothers to check the facts. A neighbor who worked for GM for 40 years does get pension and healthcare benefits, etc., but the average worker now is making roughly $40/hour, which would include their benefits package as well. Of course, that is still great pay and is what many do not realize is actually what keeps the middle class in this country going.
I too was surprised they are going on and on about what the 3 big auto execs are using for transportation to get to the hearings considering you didn't hear a bunch of hooplah about what the AIG execs were skirting around the countryside in. Strange no liberal media went on and on and on about what they drove, what style they traveled in, etc., so it becomes very clear to me who the brown nosers are.
