Not my choice either, but I will respect and honor my president regardless.

Well, then, congratulations to you, too!
congratulations...
Thank you, Lurker. I do believe you are sincere in your congratulations and I do appreciate it. It was a moving ceremony and a very humble and very deserving man received a great honor.
In case you did not find it, the Order of the Marchusee is named after the force that George Washington brought up during the Revolution...the forerunner of today's military police.
The point I was trying to make in this is that my sense of patriotism, and his sense of duty and honor have nothing to do with politics. I love my country no matter who is in charge; he loves his country no matter who is in charge, and he went where he was sent by his country, no matter what the party of the President at the time. That being said, it is good to know that we can find common ground even in disagreement. I see that as the best of this country, and it gives me great hope.
And thank you, we did have a good celebration.
God bless you, Lurker. And I really mean that as well.
Congratulations!!!!
Another convert to common sense!!! Let our voices be heard. I don't actually REALLY believe at this point a write-in has a snowball's chance to elect an alternative but at least we can say we TRIED and didn't just stick with the same old business as usual, which we will get from either of these candidates. And then there's the matter of Congress. Mine aren't up for election this year but you can bet they will hear my displeasure in their next election and I'll campaign against BOTH of them......1 Democrat, 1 Republican.
Congratulations
to Senator Obama on his historic accomplishment. He has spent millions to instill a sense of hope in Americans. I do express my sympathy to Mr. Obama that his grandmother did not live to see this day. I'm sure she would have been very proud.
I cannot deny that I am not happy about this at all though. In fact, I feel physically sick. I feel that we made the wrong choice. Only time will tell whether I am right or not, but I cannot shake the feeling that we are in for some extremely tough times. I still do not trust him and I do not believe that his plans for our country are good ones. However, he is our next president and there is nothing I can do about that.
I hope and pray that I am wrong in my assessment of Mr. Obama, but if I am not, God help us all!
congratulations to both of you. Behind every great man...
you know the rest. It is definitely not too much information. I think it is good to something about each other, other than our political ideologies. It allows us to see someone whose political opinion is diametrically opposed to ours, yet still see the goodness in that person, that a difference of opinion, even some really enormous differences of opinion do not have to make us enemies. I would consider what you told us as promoting tolerance which, as you know, in my mind, is a wonderful thing.
I have never even heard of the Medal your husband received. It sounds very very old and very very regal, as if it originated with kings and queens. I am going to look it up on the web. I bet it is beautiful.
Again congratulations. I hope you have a wonderful celebration and I really mean that.
Congratulations to Senator Obama.
My heartiest congratulations to Senator Obama and to Senator Clinton for her campaign, and for quickly meeting with him this evening to discuss unifying the party.
I believe that the torch has been passed to the next generation of American citizens, with their high hopes and wonderful ideas for the future of this country, a future that includes all races and genders, and the potential of a better future for all of us.
Again my congratulations to Senator Obama!
Congratulations, you have obviously raised your daughter right.
xx
WE WON! Congratulations to ALL Democrats! Go. Obama! nm

First, congratulations to Obama for his historic win....
and that in and of itself is a wonderful thing.
That being said...I still have concern for the country. Obama may be POTUS; he may be John McCain's President, but he is not my President yet. I don't trust him. He has to earn that trust. Only time will tell how far to the left he will lead this country. Only time will tell how far into socialism he will take us. Thank God I think we retained enough senators on the Republican side to keep them somewhat in check, if they are willing to do so.
I will not be trying to drag his presidency down. I will check in from time to time as we see how his Presidency unfolds. Is he going to govern like his books (very liberal), like his past (very liberal, Marxist socialist), or is he going to govern more from the middle, like he has run his campaign. Who knwos? How can we know? He changed his story depending on who he was talking to (i.e., in Pennsylvania and in San Francisco). Now that the campaign is over, will the real Barack Obama please step forward?
When he does...that will determine whether or not he is "my" President.
All that being said...I sincerely hope he governs more like the guy who talked in Pennsylvania vs the guy that talked in San Francisco. I mourn the millions of babies who will die during his tenure. I wish he was as concerned about them as he is about "living" Americans.
In closing...congratulations to the Obama supporters on this board. I hope you hold his feet to the fire...I certainly intend to.

Congratulations President Obama!
Congratulations President Obama! "Tonight we mark the end of one historic journey with the beginning of another – a journey that will bring a new and better day to America." I am so happy I lived long enough to be a part of history in the making.
Congratulations! Your nonsupport of the war effort is working! sm
You must be so proud. What the left has realized finally come to fruition. Why exactly do you think the Taliban and all the other islamic terrorists feel emboldened? Got a clue?
