if in doubt..bring up an old GT post
MT, I have never posted on the conservative board..because the responses would boil my blood. I dont know what post you are talking about..However, reading these posts this morning, one of your conservative *friends* posted about hoarding to American Woman, how she hoards information and then blasts away with old information from old posts..I have to tell ya, I laughed at that post cause, OMG, you guys, from the conservative board, have done nothing but bring up old posts that either I have posted or have been attributed to me, over and over and over and over and over and over..**If it doubt with nothing to say, bring up an old GT post**,
Please don't bring this up again - brought up a lot of unhappy posters about this post
This was one topic that I took such a big offense to. I'm not voting for Obama, so you would think that I would be happy to "chime in", but when ever you start bringing the similarities in names between a known horrible horrible terrorist that committed horrendous crimes against the american people and start linking the name to an american running for president it sure stirs up a hornets nest. I know you are not comparing the two people together (OBL and Barack & Joe) but when you (or others) try to say oh what a coincidence, the first thing that comes to my mind is that deep down you are saying - hey everone Barack Obama and Joe Biden's name are so similar to Osama Bin Laden there must be a connection.
I was deeply offended the last time this was posted and still am. Would it be okay if this topic didn't come up again? Thanks.
post the link only, not the whole article and the link. See rules for posting.

Loved this post! Couldn't have said it better
What a great post. Wish I could write so well.
I figured your post was for me. I know I couldn't be the only one!
Thank you for standing with me!
That's the post I couldn't find - thanks
Thanks for the info and thanks for bringing issues to the table. Will have to read it now that I'm off work.
Just when I thought you couldn't post anything worse sm
you come up with another even worse screed. It's bottomless. They have ugly ugly children, she's a Stepford wife, and he is worse than satan. And the terrorists are just really nice guys who need a hug, right? Unbelieveable!
Excellent post and very well said. I couldn't agree with you more. nm

Post the direct link. I don't see the post you're referring to.

We don't bring it up to dismiss Bush, we bring it up...
to show that your criticism holds no water. It's not a political thing, it's a human thing. People have shortcomings. Now, if you want to have a statute of limitations on this thing, then I guess Bush is off the table as it's been about 20 years since his last drink, believe it or not (I know that's your next reply, that he still drinks, which you have no proof of so don't even try it).

We may have in the past, but not lately, Teddy. Lies? Gosh, you like that word. A lie is an untruth. You just ordered someone from the board. That is a board moderator's job, not yours. Hardly a lie. A factual observation I would say.

You should check your facts before you post - see link
Anyone looking for Barack Obama's real sentiments about whites, blacks and Muslims won't find them in this scurrilous collection of falsified, doctored and context-free "quotations." The e-mail claims to feature words taken from Obama's books, "The Audacity of Hope" (2006) and "Dreams from My Father" (1995, republished in 2004). But we found that two of the quotes are false, and others have been manipulated or taken out of context.
We have received many inquiries about this from readers whose suspicions were aroused, with good reason. Aside from the fact that the e-mail incorrectly cites the title of Obama's book as "Dreams of My Father," rather than "Dreams from My Father," you may have noticed that none of the quotes in this e-mail contain page references. This should be a sign to any reader that the author is trying to pull a fast one, betting that you won't take the time to read through all 806 pages of Obama's books to get to the facts.

By the way, we have not heard peep from the original poster since the quotes she posted were proven to be, at best, grossly inaccurate and completely out of context, and, at worst, downright lies!
Post where this link is. Doesn't apply anymore, don't think...sm
If it does, post the link to the rule
Excuse me. All I did was post a link to a CBS news story
the ideas you brought up in your original post trying to imply that O's AG nominee was somehow responsible for the 9/11 attacks. I think that kind of inaccurate accusation deserves some sort of defense. You evidently have a tough time digesting data that in any way contradicts your thinking, so now we have gotten to the place where I am a pouncing, bug-squashing know-it-all who slaughters innocent insects with my windshield? For posting a link to a reputable news article written directly in the aftermath of 9/11 (YEARS before Mr. Holder's nomination). Really? Don't you think you may be over-reacting just a tad?
I meant to post this link in the original message

reply that I think got deleted.......not unjustly. It was dripping in sarcasm. LOL I believe the article it is on Yahoo news though, my husband said something about it. I didn't post a link to it, probably someone else.
We can all agree to disagree. What I would like for everyone to do is research the facts for themselves. I've always felt like you can belive nothing you hear and only half of what you see.
I'm not against immigration and I don't think Lou Dobbs is either. I'm all for LEGAL immigration. I even researched Mexico's immigration requirements and that ought to be an eye-opener for anyone who wants to compare immigration policies. I am dead set against ILLEGAL immigration. What I don't understand is what about ILLEGAL do people not underestand. AND both Obama and McCain are in favor of giving people who have broken the law a "path to citizenship" translated means amnesty. That didn't work too well under Reagan and it won't work now which is one thing I have against both candidates because the path to citizenship is one thing they agree on but you don't hear either one of them talking about it. That's an issue to me. No need to worry about terrorists when our borders are wide open and terrorists could stroll right on across our borders any time they so desired and neither NEITHER of these candidates have anything to say about that. Why? I'll tell ya, they both don't want to offend the Latino vote and I don't think they care whether the voters are legal or not.
Care to post the right fringe rumor rag conspiracy theory link
I am not into solving prevarication puzzles. Further comment might be forthcoming if you spit out precisely what you are trying to say here.
Hi, Your llink did not show up, only 'page not found.' so I post my link inside...sm

Tehran braces for crackdown as protesters vow to defy KhameneiSupreme leader warns Mousavi supporters against bloodshed
guardian.co.uk, Friday 19 June 2009
Iran's opposition faces a critical test of resolve and the country an uncertain future tomorrow after the Islamic regime's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, issued a blunt warning to those involved in mass protests over last week's "stolen" presidential election that they would "bear the responsibility" for any bloodshed.
Khamenei rejected accusations of fraud in the poll, confirmed the incumbent, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, as the winner, and gave no ground to the millions of Iranians demanding their votes back.
Mir Hossein Mousavi, who claims he beat Ahmadinejad in the race, was said by an ally to have no plans for unauthorised rallies tomorrow following the warning, but supporters vowed to go on protesting.
Fears grew tonight of an intensifying crackdown on media and opposition activists. Students at the fine arts faculty of Tehran University – where scores of students were injured and some reported killed after raids by security forces earlier this week – announced an indefinite sit-in starting tomorrow.
Khamenei's closely watched speech at prayers at Tehran University could hardly have been tougher. It had been hoped he might adopt a more conciliatory tone that would help defuse the gathering crisis, the worst in Iran's 30-year post-revolutionary history. But he warned: "If there is any bloodshed, the leaders of the protests will be held directly responsible. The result of the election comes from the ballot box, not from the street. Today the Iranian nation needs calm."
Tens of thousands of worshippers cheered as he told them: "It is your victory. They cannot manipulate it."
Mousavi, a moderate former prime minister whose "green" movement scared the regime with the support it was attracting, ignored a call to attend the prayer meeting and now faces a dilemma over his next step. Ignoring Khamenei's message risks bloodshed on a far larger scale than the eight people killed last week. Accepting it means surrender to the regime.
The reformist cleric Mehdi Karroubi, another candidate for the presidency, added to the pressure tonight by also calling for the election to be annulled. "Accept the Iranian nation's will by cancelling the vote and guarantee the establishment's survival," he urged.
Khamenei attacked opponents at home but also lambasted Iran's enemies abroad in hardline remarks that bode ill for any opening to the US, where Barack Obama is seeking talks to tackle worries over Iran's nuclear ambitions.
Britain was attacked as "the most evil", but the US, Israel and "Zionist-controlled" media were also abused, as was Hillary Clinton, the US secretary of state. "The enemies are targeting the Islamic establishment's legitimacy by questioning the election and its authenticity before and after [the vote]," said Khamenei.
The speech underlined the sense of profound crisis, since the supreme leader usually only speaks in public at the end of Ramadan and on the anniversary of the 1979 revolution.
Analysts and commentators were dismayed by its implications. Sadegh Saba, chief analyst for BBC Persian TV, said: "Mousavi wants the protests to continue but Khamenei is saying if they do there might be bloodshed – and it will be on your hands."
Issa Saharkhiz, a Tehran-based pro-reformist commentator, said Khamenei's speech had transformed the crisis from a conflict over the election result into a trial of his own political authority, which was now being openly questioned. "Now the issue is that the supreme leader's sense of justice, management and competence is under question," he told Deutsche Welle. "The leadership of the country cannot be left in the hands of such a person, who for the sake of preserving himself and his own power, threatens people with mass murder."
Crucially, Khamenei ruled out any cheating in the election, apparently dashing hopes that a partial recount ordered by the guardian council, a supervisory body of senior clerics, will mitigate the crisis.
Khamenei's call for Mousavi and Karroubi to confine their protests to legal avenues prompted mockery. "This means that Imam Hossein [the third most revered figure in Shia Islam], instead of making a last stand at Karbala, [should have] pursued his grievances through the legal process," one blogger said on the Farsi blogsite Balatarin.
Balatarin was flooded with messages voicing outrage at Khamenei's warning that opposition leaders would be held responsible for further unrest and bloodshed. One correspondent wrote: "Mr Khamenei, the direct responsibility for any damage to people's lives or property from now on lies with you."
In Washington, the House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly to condemn Tehran's crackdown on demonstrators. It was the strongest message yet to Iran.
To bring in an oil well........ sm
takes about 10 to 14 days, depending on the area being drilled. This is for a land rig, not an off-shore rig. I live in a very oil and gas rich area of the country and I see them going up and coming down in a matter of days.
You know better than to bring
the Big JC into conversations on this board. Liberal nut jobs will start screaming about how church and government should be separate and how dare we force our religion on them. Next we will go into staying out of women's uteruses and allow the murder of unborn children but OMG.....don't even think about shooting wolves in Alaska as a predator control program because that is just horrible!!!
Ill go there this weekend and bring
you back some posts. I just went there once and could not stomach it. I havent checked out the Dem underground board yet.
sally bring your
post regarding Mccain's lack of support for troops up the top. It is highly relevant and I think it is buried in the muck and name-calling below.

Aaah, you want to bring it up here....okay
You seemed to have lived a very privileged life but
my family wasn't privileged. We did for ourselves and never felt we were better than others as your family did. We didn't use others to do our work for us. My father, mother, grandfather and grandmother worked side by side with blacks, doing the same jobs they did in factories, in the fields, you name it. I was never raised to believe I was better than others as you were. You obviusly didn't despise your family's racism too much. You still used your nanny, maids, whatever you want to call them and I'm sure you didn't wait on yourself hand and foot. So please don't sit there and sound all sanctimonious about your life. I actually lived life growing up and knew what it was to not be raised to think I was better than everyone else. I never looked at black people as someone who should "do our work" for us as you did. Perhaps you would know best about prejudice, bigotry and racism, since you were so established in a family that did. What I do know is the black people that lived close to us, and there were many, worked side by side with my family members, all being paid the same and all sweating through the summer sun working until dark to plant crops and harvest them together. My family picked cotton out in the blazing summer heat side by side with blacks as well. Did yours? Of course not.
So, until YOU'VE actually lived and worked for REAL with those you want to keep down and feel so sorry for, you need to learn to keep your mouth shut.
Nobody needs your kind trying to sound so self righteous when all you're really trying to do is ease your mind and your guilt.
Don't make that my issue.
You sound like a self-righteous hypocrit.
For Obama also to bring in that Rev?
"Black will not be asked to sit in back.... brown will be asked to stick around.... and WHITE will embrace what is right". --I am already hearing from friends who are so disappointed in that. Why do that? That does not unite anyone....only ticks off white people who have never been racists, but may be assumed to be simply for being white. Obama should have NEVER allowed this kind of statement. I do not treat any color differently than myself. I have a Chinese friend, a black friend, a Mexican friend. When we have all come so far, to dig up the past in this way is not good. I have even experienced reverse racism when trying to get a job, yet I just deal with it. If Obama is a uniter, he needs to stop this reminder of race and act as if we are all the same color.
I bring the popcorn!!
Oh, the mental picture I get from that one!!
I figured that'd bring out the first-graders:)
Nice to know I'm not yet over-estimating the self-flagellating opposition.
I cannot bring myself to think they made it happen, but...sm
using the who stood to benefit/gain rule in solving a crime, there is room for suspicion. War is very profitable - world bankers and Halliburton? If they were incompetent, why were some promoted, and why aren't they standing trial for that? There are just too many unanswered questions, so I think in that sense they do need to reopen the investigation and do it properly. No one and I mean NO ONE will be getting away with killing 3000 Americans.
why did you even bring this up - looks like you are trying to start a fight
Everytime a subject is brought out you seem to like to interject a bash to Sam. I've been reading the posts and nowhere in response to my post here did I see sam post a "message with the express intent of wreaking havoc and instigating argument". I'm reading the responses to my post about issues and I'm not seeing one from sam called "let the games begin", so I have no idea what you are talking about. If your talking about another post awhile back, then start a new thread, but for Pete's sake don't drag it into mine. Forget sam - it looks like you are the one who is trying to start arguments. Leave your personal hatred out of this and be an adult for once. Posts like this I would expect from my 12 year old, but we are adults here. What's frustrating is to finally start reading about a lot of issues that both sides would like to know about and info they are sharing with us and then all of a sudden - bam, here comes your post bashing sam. I'm sitting here now looking at all the responses to my post and I'm not seeing the one you are talking about. Lets stick to issues and facts. It also sounds like some other posters want that too.
You bring up such a good point...
my partner drives a school bus in 2 areas, a very impoverished area, and then in the 'upper class' area, and he never gets over all the kindness and gifts he gets from the poorest of people during holidays, while the more affluent areas not even give nothing, they do not even treat him as a person.
I have noticed that during post office drives, you always see the most donated goods hanging on the mailboxes in poor neighborhoods, and very rarely anything from the huge gigantic housing developments. not to say they do not give but it really says SO MUCH.
we are musicians here where I live also and even the money-making machine bars and restaurants, they want to get everything free, they are making musicians around here go broke and do not care at all. they hold open mics and get everyone to play for free, while over-charging for every other little service, and give the musicians nothing, not even a free pop or coffee (or drink if you drink).
by the way, these establishments all boast they are christians/family establishments.
