She has made herself known on this board several times and stated her rules. There are not many conservatives who post anymore either, Lurker, because of the whip lashing we took from liberals over the years. But do you see us whining about that all over the place? I don't think so. You can't follow the rules, because the rules do not apply to you. FormMatrix is a host for ths board, but the same person still administrates it. I wish you WOULD talk to her and stop with all of this. You come on our board and post and you always have. There have been some pretty egregious things said here over the years about the President, some of which probably should have been investigated by the FBI.

Believing that the whole thing is one intermingled war in the middle east is not spin. Those are my beliefs. When I talk to my friend and she talks about her husband in Iraq and she says the middle east, then she talks about her son in Afghanistan and she refers that to the middle east, that is why I always believed both countries are in the middle east. That is not spin???? And for pete's sake don't call me ignorant!!!! Like I said I always believed both Iraq and Afghanistan were in the middle east. I'm not trying to incite war against Obama - sheesh! Get a grip. I read a news story and posted it here about Obama sending troops to Afghanistan. The article said 17,000 troops are going to Afghanistan. That is not spin, that is citing a news article I read. He lied - Okay I'm wrong about that. He did not lie about the sending troops to Afghanistan thing (I don't remember him saying he would send them, but I've heard they are on youtube and if they are on youtube then I believe JTBB (she's the one who pointed me in the right direction).

gt was the one I was complaining about slamming the board with extreme left-wing, president bashing articles which is TOTALLY UNCALLED FOR and UNPATRIOTIC during a time when our country is in crisis. You don't have to like our president, but you have no idea what kind of pressure he's under right at the moment, and how all the fingerpointing is making his job that much harder. I don't think it is out of line at all to ask people to act like adults and put their energies into helping those in need. This could be a place for networking on how to best help the suffering. I haven't seen many posts on this board (except for Lurker's lone one) routing people to charities for giving or anything. People on the conservative board are talking about how you can help and how they can help but you all, as usual, are whining about the president! Some of you people are about to sink to the level of some of those in New Orleans who are shooting rescuers, because you are absolutely adding NOTHING of value to the situation. You are only creating an atmosphere of hostility which is very counterproductive in a desperate time as this.

Purtianism came first...Christianity was the religion practiced by the founding fathers. It is evident in their writings and in most of our original documents.

Can we bring the board back to the true reason for the board
Can we get the political board back to the true purpose of this board – to share opinions of why we like our candidate. Not bash and cut down others because they don’t agree with you.
I stayed away from this board for the past couple days because anyone who had anything positive to say about Sarah Palin got slammed, bashed, kicked down, etc. After awhile I found it all too draining, and was not seeing any reason to come. Yes, I did see some of it towards people who favored Barack Obama, but if you read the posts again it is mostly towards anyone who favored Sarah Palin/John McCain.
I thought the political board was for posting information regarding politics and candidates. What I have seen for the past few days is that it has been an attack board. Especially if you have anything positive you want to share about Sarah Palin. You say something good about her and you get attacked, you answer back, and you get attacked more, and then when you get mad and pretty much say stop attacking me, they come back with this “Geez, I’m allowed to have an opinion”.
Another thing I am tired of seeing is the slanderous, hate filled, really off the wall comments about Sarah Palin. The latest was something about her daughter actually had her baby. Talk about just bizarre comments. I thought what’s next, she’s an alien from another planet? The more I kept reading the more the comments were getting just really weird and bizarre. Of course nobody ever having any proof of any of these allegations. I then came to realize that the posters were just trying to get a fight going.
I also saw posts that had nothing to do with politics but attacking a poster named Sam. Again, probably trying to get another fight going for no good reason and on things that have nothing to do whatsoever with politics. I’ve read “Sam is like an annoying nat that you sway away”, “Sam, please let me know where you work” or “she must have her quota” or “sam is to the politics board as oracle is to the” This childish rhetoric is getting old. I’m not defending sam she is a big girl and I can see by her posts she can take care of herself, but my point is that this has nothing to do with politics. If you want a fight maybe you could request that the administrator create a separate “fight and degrade” section.
I’ve read the administrators post a couple different times called Beware of Flaming. She/he said as long as we realize that not everyone is going to agree we shouldn’t wear our feelings on our sleeves and a little more oversight on here would be good. Let people express his or her opinion and move on. If you don’t like someone just ignore that person. “It’s not rocket science, you know” (I liked that statement) 
I consider posting on this board a privilege and not a right. If you don’t agree with something and you post that you don’t agree and state the facts why (and are civilized about it) that’s one thing, but when you bash and degrade others without showing proof and just want to start fights and belittle others it just seems a bit juvenile to me.
I come to the politics board to hear ideas and stuff (facts) about the candidates. That is how I’m learning about each one, but I don’t want to read people attack other posters for no good reason. I'd like to hear about Obama/Biden & McCain/Palin, but I want to hear facts.
If you like to fight so much why don’t you pick on people that you can fight to face to face.

You just delivered a sermon (or quote). Either way it doesn't belong here. What does this have to do with politics. The democrat and republican party did not start up until after the 1800s. Socialism also wasn't created until the 1800s.
To me your post describes the way humans should treat other humans. This has nothing to do with politics - imho.

No, we are not the same person....
Americangirl is a Republican I believe, and I am an independent (who changed my registration to Repub so I could vote in the primary, but will be changing back), but yes, we are both conservative. In some ways she more so than I, in some ways I more so than she. If you look at our posts, we are very different in how we post and we certainly don't agree with each other all the time.
The same could be said for many of the liberal posters. There is one for sure that posts under different monikers, but you can always tell...when one comes under attack the other swoops to defend. Americangirl and I do not post like that.

I see a person as
either male or female. If that person decides to describe himself as a sin, that's how I will see them, based on the description they have given of themselves. And that description is sinful. Very simple. I hate the description because God tells me to hate it.

There is a definite tendency for some posters on these boards (not so much this one) to very negatively judge a post based on who posted instead of what was contained in the post. And you're right. That just detracts from the entire value of the post when they do that. (Anyone who doesn't believe me can visit the Conservative and see how they chew up and spit out those who don't assign nicknames to themselves.)

My point is that we should be glad there are women in elections and holding high-profile positions in this country instead of attacking their mothering skills or parenting choices. There are plenty of women who think ANY mother that works outside the home in any form is making a poor parenting choice. It should be to each his or her own, please do not try to twist my words to fit your agenda. I never, EVER said I would vote for someone solely to have a woman in office. I said I hailed Hillary's accomplishment, not that I would vote for her (in fact, I said I didn't care for her) and I never said I agree with everything Palin says or does, just that her family is her own business.
On the contrary, I don't vote gender, family, public opinion, or party affiliation, I vote based on the person's abilities and whether I feel they are qualified for the position. Period.

income earners in the US. We are not taling about skid row bums and deadbeats. Ever heard of the concept of the shrinking middle class? Is that a good thing for the nation? The lower 40% of the ENTIRE POPULATION of the US owns LESS THAN 1% of the total national wealth. This includes a very, very sizeable chunk of the entire middle class. MTs are always complaining about how they are not paid what they are worth. Does it make sense that all persons combined making less than $57,490/yr own less than 1% of the national wealth? Do these people do less than 1% of the work? Does this seem like an equitable distribution of wealth to you? Please answer these questions directly. Yes or no?

to change the stock market. It seems to have a life of its own, albeit a rather shady one. I don't feel too bad seeing the insurance companies take a hit - they're all crooks and they deserve what they get for being so dishonest. But banks, 401Ks, money market, etc. There has to be someplace left, other than under a mattress, where our savings/rainy-day/retirement money is at least somewhat safe, without earning 0 interest. And forget about buying real-estate! That bubble has burst, as well. Goodbye to any kind of financial security (or even a place to live) for lots of us in our so-called 'Golden Years'.

There is an audio out of Harlem showing citizens there who didn't have a clue who was even running for office. This was black and white based, so the only racist person here is the one letting their minds go there. The "black lady" you're referring to has made racist remarks all over this board and funny how none of us have screamed for the moderator. She can dish it out but she lets her mind go where she wants to if she doesn't like something said.
